Chapter 34 BADASS COUPLE

Chapter 34 BADASS COUPLE
“He almost killed me!” Nine cried.

I just stared at her, irritation twitching at my lips.

“Crybaby,” I spat, walking off. Ruby watched silently as Nine clung to Erica like a child.

“Did she hurt you?” I asked Ruby.

She shook her head.

“Then why did you scream?” I asked.

A tiny smile tugged at her lips.

“I wanted to see what it felt like to be cared for if I screamed. At home… no matter how much I cried or got hurt, my mother never cared. I wanted to see if you guys would.”

The annoyance hit me again. I scoffed and sat down, shooting her a death glare.

“You shouldn’t scold me like that. I was just curious,” she said with a tiny pout.

“Pouting won’t make me spare you. Acting cute won’t work on me,” I snapped.

She just swung her legs and sat on the table.

“Mister… can I call you ‘hot uncle’?” she asked boldly.

My eyes darkened. Teenagers. What dah!!!

“N—” I paused when her eyes started sparkling. Damn it. I couldn’t yell at a kid.

“Do whatever you want,” I muttered.

“Thank you, hot uncle!” she beamed.

My smile flickered for a split second… then died.

“Really? You let a teenager call you that?” Erica snapped, glaring at me like some strict mother. My smirk widened. I stretched my legs onto her table, which annoyed her instantly.

“What can I say? I am hot. Even you would drool,” I said proudly.

Erica laughed. “All that is there is just fat,” she replied and rolled her eyes.

My eyes darkened instantly.

“You’ll take those words back when I drag you to the room. I’m not gentle,” I said quietly.

Erica’s lips trembled. “How can you say that in front of a kid?!” she yelled.

“Miss, I’m a teenager,” Ruby said, defending me. “Besides… he’s cool.”

Erica’s face went pale.

“Oh wow. You big devil,” she muttered, shaking her head. “I can’t argue with you two. Perfect duo!”

I laughed and winked at Ruby. She grinned wider.

“Miss, can I get someone as hot as hot uncle to date in the future?” Ruby asked.

Erica froze.

“Bastards like him shouldn’t come near you,” she snapped.

I laughed. She glared at me.

“Yet you dragged me to a hotel saying you wanted to see how big my.....”

“S H U T I T!” I snapped. “Stop being shameless, there is a kid here!”

I turned to Ruby.

“Are you a kid?” I asked.

Ruby glanced at Erica. “I’m a teenager. Not a kid, and I… I have nowhere to go. Can I stay here? Please?”

“Stop looking at me,” I said, pointing at Erica. “You saved her. Take responsibility.”

Erica’s lips parted, ready to curse me, but shut back.

“Okay.”

“You three are good at ignoring others, you know. I’m also here,” Nine muttered.

Erica snapped back to her. “Right....what information do you have?”

“Giselle is in the hospital. And the accident news is everywhere. But…everyone is blaming Jolie and Emily for causing it. Netizens are calling them cursed.”

Erica’s eyes darkened. I saw the anger in them.

“That bitch dares try to slander my people,” Erica growled.

“Bitch!” Ruby repeated happily.

“Manners, Ruby,” Erica scolded.

Ruby shut her lips, sucking in her lower lip.

“Did you investigate the driver who died?” Erica asked.

Nine nodded and handed her a file.

“He was paid to crash into Jolie and you. But… it wasn’t Giselle who hired him.”

Erica frowned. “That’s impossible. Every suspicion points to her.”

“Miss,” Nine said, licking her lips nervously, “Giselle told Freya to cut the brakes, yes. But she didn’t order someone to deliberately crash into the car.”

I saw Erica freeze in thought. She sighed and returned the documents to Nine.

“Investigate further. But leave no trace. As for Giselle… how is she? Any news about the drama role or her injuries?”

“Injury?” I asked.

Erica turned to me with a wicked smile. “I gave her a little gift for hurting Jolie and Emily.”

I grinned darkly. What a witch.

“So?” I dragged.

“So what?” she replied.

“Nothing.” I looked away.

She rolled her eyes and returned to Nine.

“Giselle’s agency kept her condition hidden well,” Nine continued, “but she’s trying to use it to gain sympathy from fans.”

“Typical Giselle,” Erica muttered, folding her arms beneath her boobs.

“She’s also trying to butter up the author for Danielle’s role,” Nine added. “Sending gifts, letters… everything.”

Erica’s smile widened.

“Wow,” she said dramatically. “The author is hard to deal with. She won’t give Giselle the role easily. Those tactics won’t work.”

She turned to me.

“Giselle will try to find out who hurt her. She’ll come for Freya.”

“So? How does that concern me?” I asked.

Erica’s brow arched wickedly.

“Well, others were involved in Celina’s death too. Don’t you want to hunt them down?”

I furrowed my brow, pretending clueless.

Them? I knew every one of the, but I didn’t want to just kill them. I wanted the whole world to see what kind of monsters they truly were.

Only then… maybe the rage in my heart would ease.

“Hm?” Erica asked again.

“Come on, hot uncle, say something!” Ruby chimed, eyes sparkling.

“You don’t even know what’s happening,” I muttered, and she giggled.

“Watching you two act like a badass couple is beyond sweet,” she teased.

I groaned.

“Sure. I’ll follow you,” I said at last. “But I really wonder…” I tilted my head, staring at Erica.

“Why do you want revenge for Celina this much?”
