Chapter 190 If William and Lucas Fall into the Water, Who Would You Save?
After a night's rest, Sophia had already forgotten the unpleasantness from the previous evening.
Hearing Emily stirring awake beside her, she didn't immediately open her eyes. Instead, she wanted to see what Emily would do after waking up.
Emily didn't fuss at all after waking up.
She first sat up and looked at Sophia, who was still sleeping next to her, then leaned over and kissed her cheek. She then covered Sophia with her own little blanket. After doing all this, she climbed down from the other side of the bed, stepping on the cushions on the floor.
Emily grabbed her bottle, slipped on her fox slippers, and ran to the guest room to find Lucas.
"Uncle Lucas, Uncle Lucas, make milk."
Lucas wasn't fully awake yet, his eyes only open a crack. He saw Emily in her onesie pajamas leaning against the bed, holding her bottle and looking at him intently.
He sleepily rubbed her fluffy hair and said slowly, "Five minutes, let me sleep five more minutes."
Though Lucas said this, his body had already started moving. He picked Emily up and put her on the bed, took the bottle from her hand and placed it on the nightstand, gently patted her back, and even started humming a lullaby.
Emily was confused.
She turned around, blinking her innocent and puzzled eyes, and started playing with her fingers.
She counted silently in her mind: 'One, two, three...'
Before she could count to ten, Lucas had already gotten up on autopilot and obediently went to make her milk.
In the small living room outside the guest room, Emily's milk powder and a hot water kettle were placed.
Lucas made the milk with more skill than Sophia.
Even with his eyes not fully open, he still managed to get Emily her freshly made milk.
The temperature was just right, and so was the amount.
After finishing all this, Lucas collapsed back to sleep, closing his eyes again, but not before covering Emily with the blanket.
Emily really adored her handsome and caring Lucas.
When the five minutes were up, Lucas suddenly sat up.
Just as he was about to get out of bed to make Emily's milk, he saw her sitting on the bed, obediently holding her bottle and drinking.
After drinking for a while, she was already full.
Lucas scratched his head in confusion and said, "Emily, why’d you bring the bottle yourself today? Next time, call me earlier—I make milk better than your mom."
Emily was already used to this kind of behavior from him.
She nodded at him while drinking her milk, her eyes smiling into crescents.

After finishing her milk, Emily was picked up by Lucas. She habitually kicked her legs in the air and snuggled dependently in Lucas's arms.
Lucas took her to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face, and only carried her downstairs after getting her cleaned up.

Seeing Sophia already drinking coffee in the dining room, Emily immediately got down from Lucas's arms, took happy little steps, and threw herself into Sophia's embrace, looking up at her with a big smile.
Sophia affectionately tapped her nose and asked, "Finished your milk?"
Emily nodded and leaned close to her ear, whispering, "Mommy, Uncle Lucas forgot again."
Hearing this, Sophia also lowered her voice to play along, "Did you tell Lucas?"
Emily shook her head, "It's a secret."
When Sophia picked her up, she continued, "I want to protect Uncle Lucas."
Emily smelled of milk, with a faint lemon scent from brushing her teeth.
Sophia kissed Emily's cheek and said with a smile, "Emily, you're so good. From now on, we'll protect Lucas together."
Lucas took the coffee Allan handed him and said thanks.
Seeing the mother and daughter being so affectionate, he pretended to be jealous, "Emily, I'm so good to you, why don't you get closer to me?"
Emily, sitting in her high chair, made a face at him.
"No."
"Really? Who wanted to let Sophia sleep more and came to bother me? Who was it?" Lucas said.
Emily smiled shyly.
Sophia placed breakfast on his plate, worry flickering in her eyes. Despite eating well, Lucas remained thin.
It seemed the medication she had developed for Lucas earlier was no longer working well. When she came back last night, the light in the guest room was still on, meaning he had insomnia again.
To help Lucas rest earlier at night, Emily had been taking him for walks every day recently and waking him up on time every morning. However, his sleep quality still wasn't guaranteed, and his schedule remained chaotic.

He noticed Sophia's look and said with a smile, "Sophia, I'm fine."
Since returning to the country with Sophia, with Emily by his side every day, he could feel his emotions had stabilized a lot, and he no longer stayed awake all night.
Emily's big, round eyes looked back and forth between Sophia and Lucas, secretly making a decision in her heart.
In the morning, after Sophia went to the lab, Emily pulled Lucas back to the room.
She patted the pillow and said in her sweet childish voice, "Uncle Lucas, lie down."
Lucas thought she wanted to play the sleep game again and obediently lay on the bed. Watching her hold her beloved pink fox in one hand and struggle to pull the blanket up to his shoulders with the other, he couldn't help but smile.
Emily, as if taking care of her own doll, covered Lucas with the blanket, then stood up to press the button to close the curtains.
The room immediately fell into darkness.
Just as Lucas was about to speak, he felt his eyes being covered by small hands, and heard Emily's voice imitating how adults put her to sleep, with a little hand gently patting his chest.
"Uncle Lucas, be good, go to sleep, grow big and strong..."
In Emily's view, what Sophia was worried about was Lucas not sleeping.
This was how Sophia and Lucas usually put her to sleep, and she thought that if she did the same, she could definitely put Lucas to sleep too.
Those soft little hands didn't actually completely cover Lucas's eyes.
Because it was dark in the room, Emily's hands were mostly covering his nose bridge. But Lucas felt his eyes getting teary and wanted to cry a little.
He closed his eyes, adjusted his breathing, and pretended to be asleep.
Emily also lay down beside him, holding her pink fox, and soon put herself to sleep.
Lucas opened his eyes and carefully pulled the blanket over her.

Lucas said softly, "Emily, why are you so cute?"
