Chapter 160 You Deserve to Be Divorced

Chapter 160 You Deserve to Be Divorced

Outside the door stood Molly.

She was still wearing her daytime outfit—a white blouse paired with a matching pencil skirt. Catching the faint smell of alcohol on William, her mind began to wander.

William was dressed in black long-sleeved pajamas underneath, with a robe over them, his entire body covered up tightly.

Molly held some documents in her hand and spoke respectfully, "Mr. Smith, these are urgent documents that just came through. They need your signature."

He didn't take them.

William never signed any documents after drinking.

He'd rather lose the project than make decisions while not completely sober.

Tony knew this well, but Molly didn't.

She had deliberately come to find him at this hour. Her suit was also more form-fitting than a normal size, showing off her mature, attractive figure to full advantage.

However, William's eyes were cold, his tone icy, with barely suppressed anger detectable beneath.

"Molly, if you can't handle your tasks during work hours, go to HR and ask for a different position."

As her boss, William's words were completely blunt.

Molly's face turned pale instantly.

She quickly said, "I'm sorry, Mr. Smith. It won't happen again."

Molly withdrew the documents and bowed to William apologetically, her attitude sincere. "Mr. Smith, I'm sorry for disturbing your rest. I'll leave right away."

She left quickly, but when entering the elevator, she noticed William's door wasn't closed. Instinctively, she knew he must be looking at the room across the hall.

Molly's expression darkened, her heart filled with anger: 'Sophia, you ruined my life—why do you get to enjoy yourself?'

-

Sophia had no idea about the incident in the room across the hall.

After dinner, she soon fell asleep and slept soundly through the night until morning.

The next day, at the hotel restaurant.

Sophia and Joe sat facing each other, having breakfast. A translucent jade bracelet adorned her fair wrist as they chatted naturally, the atmosphere pleasant.

William and Benjamin came out of the elevator at the same time.

Ever since running into each other at Sophia's door last night, there had been a sense of rivalry between them.

Thinking about what they'd each heard last night, they looked at each other with cold eyes, yet on the surface appeared as if nothing was wrong.

Sophia sat by the window.

It was still early, and not many people had come for breakfast. The two men sat at a table near her.

To Sophia's surprise, they actually sat at the same table.

If William could find out about the Franklin family and Sophia's history, Benjamin could naturally also find out about his and Sophia's five-year marriage.

Both men felt the other had hurt Sophia, and both wanted to stand up for her. Their words were filled with hidden daggers.

"I heard, Mr. Smith, that you righteously turned against your own family and sent your dream girl—the one you'd cherished for years—to prison. Mr. Smith, your resolve is truly admirable. Most people would find it hard to be so ruthless."

"After all, back then, Mr. Smith, you ignored your own wife for this dream girl, and even made the hot search for having dinner with your son and your dream girl."

"Speaking of which, if I remember correctly, just days after that hot search incident, Mr. Smith, you got dumped by your ex-wife and divorced, right?"

Benjamin's voice was gentle as water, yet each word struck at the heart.

Hearing this, William narrowed his eyes.

Five years ago, when William learned about the hot search incident, he had Tony take it down immediately.

The whole thing lasted only a few minutes.

But someone with ulterior motives still managed to send it to Sophia. Everything had progressed far too smoothly.

Hearing Benjamin's words, he frowned, suspecting Benjamin had a hand in it.

Yesterday's information included details about Benjamin's multiple trips between abroad and Empire City, and how he'd bought an apartment near Harmony College in Empire City. No matter how you looked at it, he had been plotting something with Sophia.

William's eyes darkened. "Yes, divorced. So what?"

Compared to Benjamin's lengthy sarcasm, his indifferent manner made it seem like he didn't care about Sophia at all.

"All I can say is, you deserved to be divorced."

For a gentleman, Benjamin saying such words could be considered very rude and lacking in grace.

But whenever he thought about how Sophia had wasted five years of her youth on the William before him, he felt extremely uncomfortable.

William's hand holding his coffee paused.

His sharp gaze swept toward Benjamin across from him, asking coldly, "Mr. Franklin, what gives you the right to say these things to me?"

Benjamin chuckled lightly. "I have every right—as her best friend."

"Best friend?" William scoffed coldly.

His voice was thin and cool, just like the first impression he gave people—cold-hearted, cold-blooded, indifferent without any warmth.

William didn't continue.

He didn't want to reopen Sophia's past wounds in front of her. He picked up his coffee and took a sip.

Acting as if he didn't care about Benjamin's words at all.

William understood that if time could turn back, Sophia might not want those three years in Port City, so the man before him wasn't worth worrying about.

In the quiet, peaceful morning restaurant.

The two men's conversation carried clearly to Sophia's ears. She put down her knife and fork, turned around, and spoke irritably.

"Are you two done or not!"

Guests at nearby tables turned their heads, but immediately looked away after seeing William and Benjamin.

They naturally knew that for this bidding event, Peace Group and Redwood Technology Co., Ltd. were the two major strong competitors they had to face.

As for the company behind Sophia, some had looked into it—a small company established abroad, not worth worrying about.

They didn't know about Sophia's relationship with the two men. Hearing her scold them so rudely, they waited to see what would happen to her.

The result...

William's refined brow furrowed slightly, his thin lips pressed tight. He stopped talking, with no intention of putting Sophia in her place.

And Benjamin, meeting Sophia's eyes, turned pale for a moment. Dwayne's words from last night echoed in his ears.

If it was all true, he didn't know how to face her.

He simply lowered his head and continued eating breakfast.

Everyone fell silent: 'You two big shots just got scolded, and you're not fighting back?'

Sophia turned back and continued her breakfast, completely ignoring the stone-faced William and Benjamin, who wanted to speak but didn't dare meet her eyes.

Joe sat across from her, taking in both men's expressions completely, the corners of his mouth curved in an ambiguous smile.

He began to look forward to the day when these high and mighty men would bow down to Sophia.

He believed that day wouldn't keep him waiting long.

After breakfast, Sophia left with Joe. They needed to go look around the Redwood Resort area again.

William and Benjamin didn't stay long either.

Almost as soon as Sophia entered the elevator, they also got up and left the restaurant.

Not far from their seats, at a table partially hidden by greenery, sat a man with ordinary features but an aura of violence. He speared an entire piece of steak with his fork and tore into it, chewing in large bites.

Two thugs hurried toward him.

"Boss, we found out. The woman who kicked and destroyed your brother's dick is named Sophia."
