Chapter 134: Sophia Is Really Bold!
"You call that a divorce?"
Hannah sneered, "You clearly just couldn't beat Alice and ran away in defeat. What a disgrace to women!"
Melinda turned around and called out to her mom, telling her to stop.
But Hannah completely ignored her.
Just as Hannah was about to continue her mockery, the car she was leaning on suddenly rolled backward.
Wearing a dress, Hannah instantly lost her balance. Her knees slammed hard onto the ground with intense pain, making her vision go black.
Melinda rushed over to help her up, but before she could, she heard the roar of an engine.
At that moment, Sophia's foot was already on the gas pedal, looking at Hannah with eyes as cold as if she were looking at a dead person.
Melinda's heart trembled as she urged anxiously, "Mom, get up quick!"
"What's there to be afraid of? You think she'd really dare hit me?"
Hannah wasn't panicked at all. She slowly got up with Melinda's help and looked at Sophia provocatively.
She was certain Sophia wouldn't dare hit her!
But the next second, the car charged straight at her.
When Melinda heard Hannah's words, she thought they made sense—no matter how angry Sophia was, she wouldn't actually run them over, right?
She relaxed and looked up at Sophia, only to see her getting closer and closer, with a crazy smile spreading across her face.
Most importantly, the car's speed didn't slow down at all—it was heading straight for them.
At the last moment, Melinda pulled Hannah, and they fell to the other side.
She watched in shock as Sophia's car drove off for quite a distance without any sign of slowing down, feeling a wave of fear wash over her.
So close!
They had almost been hit by the car!
Deep down, Melinda truly believed... Sophia was a complete lunatic with no regard for her own life!
She quickly helped Hannah up, asking, "Mom, are you okay?"
Hannah's knees were already injured, and now they were hurt even worse. Her knees were a bloody mess, and her ankle had also been sprained when she fell in her high heels. Pain washed over her like a tide.
"Ah! It hurts so much!"
She forcefully pushed Melinda's shoulder away, clutching her ankle and crying out in pain.
To protect her, Melinda had held Hannah as they rolled on the ground twice, her hands getting scratched by the pavement.
Now, with Hannah's merciless push, Melinda's palm scraped forward against the ground, instantly leaving a trail of blood.
She cried out in pain, "Ah!"
But Hannah scolded her instead, "Stop yelling and help me up so we can go to the hospital. That lunatic Sophia, I'll never let her..."
Before she could finish, Sophia had already quickly turned the car around and charged at the mother and daughter again.
This time, both Hannah's and Melinda's faces turned deathly pale.
They clearly realized that their lives were truly worthless in Sophia's eyes.
Sophia would really run them over!
The front of the car stopped just ten inches away from them. Melinda's hand supporting Hannah was trembling, her back cold with fear.
Both of their knees suddenly went weak, and they fell hard on their bottoms. Their tailbones felt like they had broken, making them gasp in pain.
Sophia opened the car door, walked up to them, and looked down at their terrified expressions with a mocking smile.
"Weren't you pretty talkative just now? Keep going."
Hannah's mouth seemed numbed, unable to open properly after two attempts, her throat unable to make a sound.
Sophia glanced at Hannah's hand on the ground and stepped hard on it. Hannah's entire face immediately scrunched up.
The pain in her fingers went straight to her heart—it was excruciating.
"Sophia!"
Hannah frantically reached out to push her leg away, but Sophia kicked her aside. The force was so strong that she fell backward, her silk dress now torn from all the scraping.
Her hand hurt, her tailbone hurt, her knees hurt, and her ankle hurt even more!
Hannah felt like her entire body was in pain. The dignified demeanor she had cultivated when she arrived was now completely gone, and she looked utterly miserable.
"I'm right here, no need to shout so loud."
When Melinda saw Sophia's eyes fall on her, she shrank back, not daring to meet her gaze.
The experience of being thrown into the Smith Manor's punishment room by William for a night still made her shiver when she woke up at midnight.
Suddenly, Sophia wrinkled her nose and stepped back several steps in disgust, "What's that smell? It stinks!"
Melinda also smelled something like urine. She felt her fingers touch some liquid and looked down.
Following the traces, she saw Hannah beside her, with something spreading out from underneath her.
Melinda said in horror, "Mom!"
Hannah also realized something was wrong beneath her. The ground under her bottom was wet. She looked down.
And then...
A sharp, hysterical scream rang out at the entrance of the Johnson Villa.
Hannah had actually been so scared that she wet herself!
There were many bodyguards stationed at the Johnson Villa entrance, and security guards from the neighborhood patrol nearby. Hearing her scream, they all looked over.
Hannah had never been so humiliated in her entire life. She covered her face in despair, forgetting that her hands were also stained with that liquid. The pungent smell invaded her nostrils, and the liquid even touched her lips.
Seeing her breakdown, Sophia threw her earlier words right back at her, full of mockery.
"...You're really a disgrace to women."
Hannah broke down completely.
Sophia got back in the car. The moment the engine roared, Hannah and Melinda's bodies trembled reflexively.
One felt a chill down her back, the other felt the cold wetness beneath her. They just watched as Sophia drove away in style.
"Melinda, help me up." Hannah didn't want to lose face here and quickly tried to get up while pulling at her dress.
Melinda helped Hannah up, but accidentally stepped on her sprained foot.
Without thinking, Hannah slapped Melinda across the face. The thing she hated most in her life was giving birth to a daughter instead of a son.
If what came out of her belly had been a boy, Holden might have accepted her!
Melinda looked at her with grievance, tears streaming down her face.
"Excuse me, please wait a moment."
Just as Hannah and the others were about to get back in the car, Lucas's pleasant voice came from behind them. Both turned to look at him.
Lucas came out of the villa carrying a large basin of water. The moment they turned around, he forcefully splashed it all over them.
He smiled while saying in an extremely cold tone, "Next time your mouths are this filthy, it won't be as simple as splashing urine."
Urine?
Hannah was livid with rage and opened her mouth to curse.
But at that moment, the water on her face slid directly into her mouth, making her want to vomit.
Lucas went straight back to the yard after splashing the water.
In the living room, James and Michael looked at him curiously, not understanding why Lucas had asked them to urinate in the basin earlier.
"Why are you sitting here? Come to the dining room for breakfast."
Lucas handed the basin to the servants, asking them to wash it and put it back in the storage room. After removing his disposable gloves, he went to the bathroom and washed his hands several times with soap before heading to the dining room.
Emily's clothes had been put on by the nanny, who was now carrying her downstairs. Seeing Lucas, Emily immediately reached out both hands.
Emily said to Lucas, "Hold me."
William, who had just arrived at the company, learned from Tony about everything Hannah and Melinda had experienced at the Johnson Villa. His handsome brows furrowed in displeasure.
"Cancel my father's card."
"Also, cut off his dividends for the next six months."
