Chapter 116: Alice's Final Scene (Part 2)
At the same moment!
William had already grabbed Alice's hand. With a crack, Alice's wrist snapped instantly!
Alice's face twisted in pain, "Ah!"
The intense pain made her drop her weapon. William kicked her hard, sending her flying onto the hood of Lily's car.
William quickly rushed to the driver's side to check on Sophia's condition.
"Besides your forehead, are there any other injuries?"
Sophia said, "No."
Even the calmest person would feel scared after such a close call with death.
Especially when there are people they care about involved.
William's voice was low, "Don't be afraid."
The driver's side window was already shattered. He quickly took off his suit jacket and covered Sophia with it to protect her from the remaining glass shards.
He tried hard to pry open the dented driver's door. The veins on his arms bulged under his shirt, but the door was stuck too tight and wouldn't open.
As William turned around to look for something useful, Lily woke up in the car across from them, her eyes meeting Alice's on the hood.
Lily was luckier than Sophia - her car door wasn't stuck, but she didn't dare make any sudden moves.
She had attended parties with her father before and had seen William from afar, surrounded by big shots.
Lily knew she couldn't beat William. She could only wait for him to let his guard down before attacking.
All around them, bodyguards and men in black were fighting fiercely.
William couldn't find a useful tool, so he tried to pull the car door open with his bare hands.
Sophia came to her senses and pulled down the suit jacket covering her.
The scrapes from jumping out of the car earlier were throbbing with pain. She dug her nails into her palm - the sharp pain helped keep her alert.
Worried about James and Michael, Sophia forced herself to sit up.
"I can climb out."
She had a long knife wound on her back. The smell of blood filled the air, and William's sharp senses detected that something was wrong.
William said, "Where are you hurt?"
Sophia shook her head and gritted her teeth, "I'm fine, just some scrapes. Let's get out first. James and Michael are still young; they'll be scared."
William had already cleared the glass from the car window. Seeing her thin black top, he frowned.
William said, "Wait a moment."
He placed his suit jacket on the car door, "Be careful."
Although Sophia was tall, she had a slender figure. Her upper body easily slipped through the car window, but her lower back accidentally hit the window frame, almost bringing tears to her eyes from the pain.
The night was too dark, and she adjusted too quickly, so William didn't see her pained expression.
He carefully held her and reminded her, "Slow down."
When half of Sophia's body was out, William supported her and helped her turn around. His arm went under her knees as he gently and quickly lifted her out of the driver's seat.
But before she could stand steady, he saw Lily in the car window's reflection, holding a weapon behind them with a crazed look in her eyes.
Sophia shouted, "Watch out!"
William held her tightly, quickly crouched down with her in his arms, and grabbed a stick from the ground with his free hand, throwing it at the person behind him.
He held Sophia and dodged behind the car. The sudden movement pulled at the wound on her back, making her gasp in pain.
William felt something sticky on his arm. He immediately withdrew his hand from her waist and saw red bloodstains all over her clean shirt sleeve. His deep eyes tightened as he carefully held her close.
Mark Nelson was William's man in charge of underground operations. He quickly dealt with the men in black at the scene.
He rushed over with his people, "Mr. Smith!"
Seeing the bloodstains on William's sleeve, Mark's heart tightened.
William said, "Bring the car over! Quick!"
Lily and Alice saw that all the assassins they had paid heavily for were now under William's control. Their faces turned pale.
Seeing that Sophia was about to be taken away by William, they panicked.
Ignoring the consequences, they both pulled their triggers at the same time, but were blocked at the last moment by the Smith family bodyguards' special defensive shields.
William's face darkened, his eyes covered with frost. At this moment, he was like a demon king walking step by step from hell back to the human world.
After gently placing Sophia in the back seat, he took something from his subordinate and walked straight toward the panicked Lily and Alice.
Lily said fearfully, "You can't... Ah!"
Alice didn't even get a chance to speak. After two gunshots, her knees exploded in pain, and she fell directly to her knees in front of William.
Her unbroken hand braced against the ground, preventing her face from hitting the pavement.
But before she could feel relieved, the next second, that wrist was shot through. The pain made her whole face scrunch up.
Her barely healed plastic surgery face throbbed with pain. She collapsed on the ground, crying out in agony, tears streaming uncontrollably.
"William... why!"
Lily wasn't any better off. Already injured from the crashes, now with all four limbs shot through by William, she didn't even have the strength to stand up.
Her eyes were bloodshot red with intense hatred, staring at Sophia leaning against the back seat in the distance. Why was she so lucky? Why did someone always come to save her? Why!
If William hadn't been concerned about legal risks, Alice and Lily would already be gone from this world.
"Remove the bullets. No anesthesia needed."
"Send them and the evidence to the police station. Clean everything up."
Peace Group's private hospital had already mobilized all staff. As soon as Sophia arrived at the hospital, she was sent to the emergency room.
Although James and Michael weren't physically injured, the continuous shocks gave them fevers, and Tony arranged VIP special care rooms for them.
At the same time, Raymond was also sent to the emergency room.
"Mr. Smith, Raymond took two knife wounds to the leg while saving James and Michael. His tendon is severed. We'll need to wait for the report for specifics."
William said, "Have them do everything they can to save his leg. His leg must be healed."
His gaze fell on the lit emergency room door, his heart feeling like it was pressed down by a huge stone, making it hard to breathe.
Tony left Mark with William while he went to check on James and Michael.
Compared to Mark, James and Michael were more familiar with him.
Although Sophia's scrapes from jumping out of the car weren't life-threatening, there were many tiny stones and other debris in the wounds.
Just cleaning the wounds took a long time, and the piercing pain from disinfecting them quickly soaked her clothes through.
The most serious injury was the knife wound on her back.
She had lost too much blood. If she had arrived any later, her life would have been in real danger.
By the time she came out of the operating room, the sky was gradually getting light.
William had been waiting outside the operating room the whole time. His hands still had cuts from forcibly prying the car door open, with dried blood in his palms that looked shocking. Mark had called a nurse over to treat them.
Learning that Sophia was out of danger, he breathed a sigh of relief.
After she was moved to a private room, William leaned against the wall and finally removed that heavy stone from his heart, his breathing gradually becoming easier.
The housekeeper from home had already brought clean clothes. He took a quick shower in the private bathroom of Sophia's suite, then went to the next room to check on James and Michael's recovery.
Tony updated him on the situation. The IV was complete, and James and Michael's fevers had broken. As long as the fever didn't return, they would be fine.
William said, "Tony, thank you for your hard work."
He touched James and Michael's foreheads, his eyes darker and colder than the night itself.
The housekeeper and servants from home had arrived. Tony could rest in the suite's companion room while James and Michael had dedicated people watching over them.
At the hospital room door.
Mark held the information he had gathered and reported, "Mr. Smith, we got it out of them. Alice learned the information from Hannah."
The person had already been sent to the police station, along with all the evidence of her past crimes. She wouldn't be getting out for the rest of her life.
