Chapter 48 Chapter 48

Chapter 48 Chapter 48

The next morning came bright and peaceful. Savannah woke up early and got ready. She didn’t take much time. Just a few clothes, baby things, and her small bag. She looked around the apartment one last time and smiled.

“This place gave us shelter,” she said softly, rubbing her belly. “But now we’re moving to a new home.”

Not long after, she heard a car horn outside. Her heart jumped a little. She knew it was Adrian.

She walked out slowly, holding her small bag. Adrian was standing by the car, dressed neatly as always. He smiled when he saw her.

“Good morning, Savannah.”

“Good morning,” she said shyly.

He took the bag from her hand and placed it in the back seat. “You didn’t carry much,” he said.

“I don’t have much,” she replied, smiling softly.

He nodded, opened the door for her, and she entered the car. The drive was quiet but peaceful. The road was smooth, the wind soft against her face. She looked through the window and saw big houses passing by.

Adrian noticed her eyes and smiled. “We’re almost there.”

She turned to him. “Is your house very big?”

He laughed lightly. “You’ll see.”

When they turned into a long private road lined with tall trees, Savannah’s mouth opened a little. The house at the end was huge — white walls, glass windows, and flowers all around. It looked like a palace.

Her hand went to her mouth. “Wawoooo,” she whispered.

Adrian smiled proudly. “Welcome home.”

As soon as the car stopped, the big gate opened, and two maids rushed forward. Then more came — about five of them. They all bowed slightly and greeted, “Good morning, sir.”

Adrian nodded. “Good morning. This is Miss Savannah. From today, treat her with respect and care.”

“Yes, sir,” they all said together.

Savannah stood beside him, still shocked. She looked around, unable to believe what her eyes were seeing. The building was shining. The walls looked like marble. Flowers were lined neatly on both sides of the entrance. Even the air smelled rich.

Adrian looked at her and smiled. “Let’s go inside.”

She followed him slowly, her eyes wide. The moment they stepped into the mansion, she gasped again.

The living room was so big she could almost get lost in it. There were gold curtains, white chairs, and a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling. Paintings decorated the walls, and everything looked so clean and new.

Savannah turned around slowly. “This house is too beautiful,” she said, almost whispering.

Adrian chuckled. “I’m glad you like it.”

“Like it?” she said quickly. “I love it. I’ve never seen anything like this before. You live here alone?”

He nodded. “Yes. It’s just me and the workers.”

Her mouth opened a little. “And all these people serve only you?”

Adrian smiled. “Yes. But from today, they will serve you too.”

Savannah shook her head in disbelief. “No, no, I can’t allow that. I’m not a madam.”

He laughed softly. “Well, you are now.”

Her cheeks turned red. She didn’t know what to say.

One of the maids came forward, smiling politely. “Sir, should we show Miss Savannah to her room?”

Adrian looked at her. “Yes. Take her to the second guest room upstairs, the one with the balcony. Make sure everything she needs is ready.”

“Yes, sir,” the maid said and turned to Savannah with a warm smile. “Please come with me, ma’am.”

Savannah blinked. “Ma’am?” she said softly, almost to herself.

Adrian grinned. “See? You’re already getting royal treatment.”

She laughed shyly. “This is too much.”

He shook his head. “Nothing is too much for someone special.”

Her heart skipped at his words, but she said nothing. She just followed the maid upstairs.

The stairs were long and smooth, covered with red carpet. The walls had framed photos and small lights that made everything glow. When the maid opened the door to her new room, Savannah froze again.

The room was big and bright, with soft cream curtains and a wide bed covered with white sheets. There was a baby cot near the corner, already prepared. Flowers sat on the window side, and a soft breeze blew the curtain gently.

Savannah walked inside slowly, touching the wall like she needed to make sure it was real.

“This is your room, ma’am,” the maid said. “If you need anything, just press the bell beside your bed.”

Savannah smiled gently. “Thank you.”

When the maid left, she stood by the bed and looked around again. She could not stop smiling.

Adrian came in a few minutes later, watching her quietly. “So?” he asked. “Do you like it?”

Savannah turned to him and laughed softly. “Like it? I love it. I don’t even know how to thank you.”

He walked closer and said calmly, “You don’t have to thank me. Just be happy, Savannah. That’s all I want.”

She looked at him for a moment, her eyes soft. “You’ve done too much for me already.”

He shook his head. “Not enough.”

Their eyes met, and silence filled the room. Savannah looked away quickly, pretending to fix her dress. “I should rest a bit,” she said.

“Good,” Adrian replied. “I’ll let the cook bring your food upstairs. You must eat something before you sleep.”

“Okay,” she said softly.

He smiled and walked out, leaving her to rest.

Savannah sat on the bed, still lost in the beauty around her. Everything looked too perfect — the curtains, the air, even the sound of soft music playing somewhere downstairs.

She placed her hand on her stomach and smiled. “Baby,” she whispered. “We’re really lucky, aren’t we? God sent us an angel.”

The baby kicked gently, and she laughed quietly.

Then she lay down on the bed, the soft pillow under her head, and sighed deeply. “This doesn’t feel like my life,” she said to herself. “It feels like a dream.”

But it wasn’t a dream. It was real.

Downstairs, Adrian stood in the living room, looking up the stairs with a small smile. He felt peace in his heart for the first time in a long while.

He didn’t know why, but having Savannah in his house made everything feel alive again.
