Chapter 152 Chapter 152
The next few days were busy for everyone. The whole city seemed to be talking about the upcoming business retreat at Royal Orchid Hotel. News channels, blogs, and even magazines were already buzzing with headlines about which top CEOs would attend and who their partners were.
In Adrian’s mansion, Savannah was standing before her wardrobe with a confused look on her face. Dresses were scattered all over the bed.
Adrian leaned against the door frame, watching her with a playful smile. “You’re going to finish all your clothes before the event even starts.”
Savannah turned quickly, holding two gowns in her hands. “I don’t know what to wear, Adrian. It’s a big event, and everyone there will look classy and expensive.”
He chuckled and walked toward her. “You already look classy and expensive to me.”
She rolled her eyes and laughed softly. “You’re not helping.”
Adrian took the two gowns from her hand — one was blue, the other cream. “Wear this one,” he said, holding the blue one up. “It matches your eyes.”
She smiled shyly. “You really think so?”
He nodded. “Trust me, I know what I’m saying.”
Savannah placed the dress aside carefully and hugged him. “Thank you, Adrian. You always know how to make me feel confident.”
He held her tighter, resting his chin on her shoulder. “That’s because you’re my everything.”
Liam’s little voice broke the moment. “Mommy! Daddy!”
They both turned to see the boy running into the room with his toy car. Savannah giggled and bent to pick him up. Adrian ruffled the boy’s hair.
“Are you coming with us to the meeting too, champ?” Adrian teased.
Liam nodded seriously, making both of them laugh.

Meanwhile, in Nathaniel’s mansion, Cassandra was already preparing like her life depended on it. Dresses, jewelry, makeup kits, and high heels were spread all over her bed.
Her maid, Rose, stood by the door quietly as Cassandra tried on a sparkling silver gown.
“Rose!” she snapped. “Do you think this dress is too simple?”
Rose blinked nervously. “No, ma’am. You look very beautiful in it.”
Cassandra frowned. “I don’t want to look beautiful. I want to look powerful — like a queen.”
“Then maybe you should add that diamond necklace,” Rose said softly.
Cassandra’s lips curved. “Hmm. You’re actually making sense today.” She turned toward the mirror and put on the necklace. The stones glittered under the light, and she smiled proudly. “Perfect.”
Her phone rang. It was Vanessa.
“Hey Cassie, are you ready for the big event?” Vanessa’s voice came through the speaker.
Cassandra smirked. “I’m more than ready. Nathaniel doesn’t know it yet, but I plan to make sure no one forgets my face that day. Every man there will wish they had me.”
Vanessa laughed. “Just don’t overdo it.”
“Oh please,” Cassandra scoffed. “I’m done hiding in the shadows. This is my time to shine. I’ll walk beside Nathaniel and make sure everyone knows I’m his woman. I’ll make sure of it.”
She ended the call and smiled wickedly at her reflection. “No one will take what belongs to me. Not anymore.”

Later that evening, Nathaniel was in the study, reading through a presentation file when Cassandra walked in, looking like she was ready for a fashion show.
He looked up briefly. “Where are you going dressed like that?”
She laughed and sat across from him. “Nowhere. Just testing how I’ll look at the retreat.”
Nathaniel smiled faintly. “You look fine. Just make sure you don’t draw too much attention.”
“Why not?” she asked, crossing her legs. “You should be proud to have a beautiful wife.”
“I am,” he said calmly. “But this event is about business, not showing off.”
Cassandra frowned but quickly forced a smile. “Fine. I’ll behave… a little.”
Nathaniel shook his head and returned to his documents, not noticing the strange glint in her eyes.

Back at Adrian’s mansion, the night was peaceful. Savannah sat on the couch, scrolling through her phone when Adrian joined her.
He placed a small box on her lap.
“What’s this?” she asked curiously.
“Open it.”
She opened it slowly and gasped when she saw a necklace — a delicate silver chain with a small heart-shaped pendant.
“Adrian… this is beautiful.”
He smiled. “Wear it to the event. I want everyone to know you’re mine.”
Her cheeks flushed. “You’re so possessive.”
“Only when it comes to you,” he said, leaning in to kiss her forehead.
She looked into his eyes and smiled. “Then I’ll wear it proudly.”
As she hugged him, she felt a strange chill in her chest — not from fear, but from a small whisper in her heart that something big was coming.
Something she couldn’t explain.
And far away, Cassandra stood by her balcony, staring into the night sky.
“Soon,” she whispered. “Everyone will know my name.”
The clock ticked slowly, and the countdown to the big event had begun.
