144 Proper Zavir....
144 Proper Zavir....
“Little one, for a start this is more than enough,” he whispered softly. And maybe he was right—because within moments I was drifting into a deep, carefree sleep.
When morning came, I woke up alone. Turning over, I found a single white rose resting on Zavir’s pillow. Such a small thing, but it made my heart melt. And when I remembered last night, heat and embarrassment rushed to my cheeks all over again. Gods, how I craved more!
Today, I told myself, my innocence will finally be lost. Wayland, Alina, and their little one were supposed to leave for another pack to attend some festive gathering, which meant that until tomorrow, Zavir and I would have the whole house to ourselves. The stars couldn’t have aligned better.
After breakfast, shared in the unusually large and warm company of the Reyrem family, they all departed, leaving the place in our care.
“I know exactly what we’re going to do now…” Zavir murmured teasingly against my ear, his arms sliding around me from behind as his lips found my neck.
A victorious smile spread across my face, and deep inside me a slow fire began to awaken, remembering the bliss of yesterday.
“And what exactly?” I asked coyly, flashing him a playful smile.
“I happen to know a few very good websites with furniture. They can deliver everything we need today,” Zavir murmured, brushing his nose along my neck.
The sudden shift made me feel a wave of disappointment I hadn’t known before. Was my wolf seriously dodging his other duties?
“All right,” I exhaled at last, giving in—after all, we really would need a bed in the house.
We settled together on the huge swing in the mansion’s backyard. It was beautiful here, though the morning air carried a faint chill. I had brought a light, wide shawl, and wrapped it around myself as I nestled against my mate. With the laptop balanced on our laps, we started browsing online stores.
But focusing was nearly impossible. His nearness, his intoxicating scent, the heat of his palm resting casually on my knee—it all sent wicked shivers through me.
With deliberate care, I plucked the laptop from his hands, set it aside on the little table, then climbed onto his lap, straddling my startled fiancé. My lips claimed his in a shower of desperate kisses.
“Oh, little one…” he breathed hungrily, inhaling deeply as fire and desire flared bright in his eyes.
“Zavir, I love you… and I want you so badly,” I whispered against his lips, grinding against the hard ridge beneath me.
“You have no idea how much I love you—and how much I want you,” he rasped back, easing me down onto the swing cushions as he loomed above me.
Our kiss grew deeper, rougher, demanding. Inside me, it was already a wildfire, a flood—I couldn’t bear to wait any longer. I needed more.
“Zavir…” I moaned in desperate plea, a broken sob slipping from my lips the moment I felt his finger slide into the untouched depth no one had ever explored before.
He rubs me and traces such unbearably sweet movements that it’s almost impossible to describe. His whole body is tense, a low growl rumbling in his chest, and then—two fingers are inside me. Not too deep, but skilled enough that within a minute I’m trembling under the rush of a quick orgasm.
Catching his breath, Zavir adjusts my clothes back into place and scoops me into his arms, while I sit there, not quite understanding.
“Is that it?!” I glare at my aroused wolf with clear accusation.
“I don’t want to pressure you. I’m giving us time to get used to each other, to really learn one another,” he answers hoarsely.
“Well, we’re doing a pretty crappy job of learning each other without the actual learning part!” I snort, the frustration boiling over. “If this is all my wolf is capable of, then maybe I shouldn’t have agreed to marry you at all!”
I see his eyes ignite, his face hardening with barely controlled rage.
“You’re impossible to understand!” he growls. “First you run from me, terrified of grown-up intimacy, and then you demand it! Do you think this is easy for me? For once in my life, I want to do the right thing—to save you for our first wedding night. And believe me, after that, you won’t be able to sit still for days! And it won’t end with just one half-satisfied climax!”
“Our wedding is still a month away!” My eyes widen in horror as the realization hits me—how long I’ll have to wait. “I haven’t been against intimacy for a long time now! If you really wanted me, you would’ve taken me already! But instead, all I get are empty promises! What kind of wolf doesn’t want his mate?!”
“You have no idea what you’re saying!” Zavir roars back. “Do you think it’s easy for me to hold back when you’re near? I’m doing this so your first night will be as it should be—inside marriage. That’s what’s right for you. You’re my beloved woman, and I’ll endure as long as I have to, because you’re not like the others! It’s torture, even with the Oracle’s suppressant!”
My jaw drops at his words.
“What?!” I hiss like a snake.
“Yes. I asked Artem for the suppressant, to better control my wolf! Otherwise, I would’ve taken you right there, when I first found you—in those damn bushes!”
Oh, so that’s how it is! Well then, my wolf… you’re in trouble now.
