“We are predicting a possible appearance of iridescent clouds today. If you're lucky enough to have them appear on your side of town, look up and make a wish—you just might get it granted.”

I listened as the weather forecast lady spoke. 

Iridescent clouds. 

I think it was the second time I had heard of it, and I might have seen it once.. In Gael’s painting book? 

I shook my head, unsure. 

Make a wish and it might get granted… I pursed my lips together. 

Over the years I started believing in anything that could lead to a miracle.. Some nights I stayed outside looking at the sky and praying for something to happen. 

Anything..

I sighed..

“Mommy, you kept sighing.” 

I turned to the back at Gael’s voice. He had a book in his hands, his little glasses sitting on his nose. 

There was a parent meeting at their school today. Halley was going to meet me there to take over Maria. 

“I’m sorry baby.” I looked at Maria who was sleeping beside him. She finally fell asleep. 

“You can go back to reading.” I smiled at Gael, but his little brows drew together and that brought a smile to my face. 

“Don't worry your little head. Mama is fine.” I said, turning back to look at the road. 

The truth was that I wasn't fine. 

I didn't know why my heart was so heavy today. Maybe today was one of those days when I felt weak and lonely.

The car grew silent. 

“Mama, there is an iridescent cloud!” 

“Uh?” I turned to him and looked outside his glass window. 

“Wow,” I exclaimed, surprised. It was truly the iridescent clouds. 

It was beautiful. 

“Make a wish, mommy.” 

I raised my brows as Gael turned to me with a smile.

“I think we saw the iridescent cloud first so your wish will be granted.”

I bit my lips and stared at the cloud again then at Gael. 

I nodded. 

There was no harm in making just another wish. 

“Please somewhere, anywhere, let Theo be alive. I never saw his body so let him be alive.. please.”

“Mommy watch out!” Gael suddenly yelled and I snapped back to reality, taking control of the car. 

But it was too late. 

My car was already crashing into the car in front. 

“Oh my God…Oh my God.” I shouted as the car came to a stop crashing into the front’s car behind.  

“Baby are you okay?” I asked, turning to Gael and Maria. 

She was awake now. 

Oh God…

“Are you okay, Mommy?” Gael asked, fear in his eyes as he gripped hold of Maria who only looked confused. 

“It’s okay, Mommy is okay. We are all okay.” I said repeatedly, trying not to freak out in front of them. 

Oh my God! 

I looked outside to the car I crashed into.

Whoever was in the car wasn't coming out. What if..what if…

Oh my God. 

“Stay inside with Maria, Gael. I’m coming.” I rushed down from my car and just then the door of the other car opened and a tall man stepped out.

“Hey I’m sor—” 

I stopped when he turned fully to me.

How long had it been…since I last saw someone from Theo’s circle.

It was the same huge man that took me to the freezing country on my first day at T&M. 

That was the last time I saw him and now…

I looked at the car. That means….

I ran past him without giving him time to react..

Ethan.. Ethan must be in the car…

I knocked on the window glass hurriedly. “Open the door! I know you are in!” I hit it harder.

“Madam, you can't do this! ” The tall guard yelled and I turned to him. 

Then realisation soaked in his eyes slowly and that confirmed Ethan was in the car. 

“Open the door and tell me why you have been avoiding me for the past five years!” I yelled. 

“Why?” I screamed as the guard started to drag me.

But then..the glass window moved down….

All my life I have hated multiple things, and for the past five years, I hated the time. 

Why was it running slow when my life was crumbling?

Why couldn't it just be fast and end everything?

And that time again was playing in my face as I watched the face of the person inside the car. 

My legs weakened and I crumbled to the floor. 

Theo… It was Theo.

Theo was alive.

Everything has been strange for days now. From the painful grip on my head which only occurred at night to me hearing strange voices in my head.

I was losing sleep and my sanity. 

The doctor Rayan had said it was normal as I had been sleeping for so long. 

They said I was in a coma for five years. I believed that because I almost couldn't remember anything till five months ago. 

But there was something strange that I couldn't grasp my hands on. Why was everyone moving like they were on eggshells around me?

Like I could snap. 

Why were they in a rush for me to return to being the owner of whatever they owned? 

I had asked them to tell me everything I needed to know about my life. I could say I knew everything now and little memories to back it up..

But I felt something was missing.

I have tried everything to search for that thing but there was nothing. Not even in the media. 

I knew something was wrong. 

They said I was thrown in the sea by our enemies. I was beaten. My men came late, but it wasn't aligning. 

Why would they leave me to attend to enemies alone? Who were even the enemies? 

I wanted the truth. Something was missing and I felt it was a huge part of me.

Something that would make me whole and feel alive, and I wasn't getting it so I left. 

Three days ago and last night I decided to return to the crime scene. 

I had thought they wouldn't let me. I had prepared myself to fight with my uncle, but he allowed me without a question..

That’s where we were going until a careless driver slammed into my car from behind. 

And now, there was a strange lady sitting on the floor in the middle of the road….Crying, her lips murmuring my name.  

Why? 

I groaned as pain exploded in my head. 

Why does it hurt so badly? 

It felt like there was a knot twisting..digging in my head. 

“Ah..” I groaned loudly in pain. 

“You mustn't go out today no matter what.” 

“What’s wrong, Selena? You are crying.” 

“I had a dream.” 

“Do you want it?”

“I probably shouldn’t want it. It might not be good for the baby.” 

“I think you can have it.” 

“I’ll give you anything you want Selena. ” 

“I promise to protect you and our child.”

“I love you, Selena.” 

Images moved around my head rapidly, twisting, turning every part of my head, and just then something heavy pushed through like a loud bomb.

I screamed and held my head..

Selena. 

How could I forget her?
