Chapter 208 Amalie

Chapter 208 Amalie
Rose is out cold on the couch. Her tiara has fallen off as she sleeps. Kim and Ben had left a little while ago. Kira, Sarah, and Kayla are hanging out with their mates in the dining room with my own mates. My dads are in the kitchen preparing dinner for everyone that stayed. Jimmy went down to the grocery store to pick up a few things to go with dinner. Vickie and I are in the living room, watching my four-year-old nap.

“Thanks for not kicking us out,” Vickie says with a smile as she leans against the wall, watching Rose sleep.

“Thank you for coming,” I tell her. Rose did not show any signs of being overwhelmed during her party. She had bounced from lap to lap, as she opened the presents. Thankfully, Vickie and the others did not go overboard in what they had gotten her. Granted, there was still a pile of gifts that was almost the size of Rose.

“You’re welcome,” she says as she slides down to sit next to me on the floor. “We need to get planning this little man’s baby shower.”

“Yes, but let’s get through the next few months first,” I tell her as I rest my hands on my growing stomach.

“In a few months, the due date will be too close,” Vickie laughs.

“I know, it’s just that…” I trail off.

“Hey, you’re not alone anymore. We’re here for you. Whatever you need, just ask,” she says.

“I’m finding that out,” I tell her. “I am finding out that I have a lot more people willing to stand with me.”

Vickie gives me a questioning look.

I take a breath before I explain, “I talked with the Alpha of Mountain Peak pack. He talked about being allies and things.”

Vickie’s eyebrows shot up in astonishment. “How in the name of the goddess did you do that?” Vickie asks.

“More importantly,” Cal hisses as he practically storms into the living room. “When did you do that?”

“Um, yesterday I talked to Alpha Micah about not siding with Devin and he agreed. He told me to tell Alpha Harold to update his Rolodex, and I still don’t know what that is,” I told him.

“You talked with him?” Vickie asks, awe in her voice.

“He told you his name?” Mark asks as he comes into the room.

“Why does this feel like a big honor?” I ask as I look back and forth between my mates and Vickie.

“Alpha Blackthorn, does not give out his first name,” Cal says cautiously.

“But you know it, or else you would not have asked about it,” I point out.

“We heard the whispered name. But to hear it from someone first hand, is a rarity,” Mark says.

“What did he say?” Vickie interrupts excitedly.

“He said that his grandson is next in line to take over his pack since his son died. He does not want a war because of his great grandchildren,” I tell them. I feel like I am betraying the old Alpha’s trust as I tell my best friend and mates.

“Luna,” Sam sighs as stalks into the living room and he hands me his phone.

I take the phone as the other three give him strange looks. “Hello?” I ask.

“Luna,” a gruff voice says over the phone.

“Yes?” I say in more of a question than statement.

“Micah said to reach out to you about an alliance,” he replies.

“Oh, yes!” I say excitedly.

“The Black Forest will support you,” he growls before he hangs up.

I don’t even get to tell the Alpha thank you before the line goes dead. I hand the phone back to Sam.

“Keep it. I keep getting phone calls and when they hear me, most hang up and call back a little later. I’ll barrow my Sarah’s phone if I need it,” he sighs before he goes back to the dining room.

“Are we going to talk about how you have random Alpha’s pledging loyalty now, I feel like this is something that we should address,” James stage whispers from the dining room.

Damn werewolf hearing. Beren just laughs at my thought. She has been awfully quiet lately. She just shrugs in the back of my mind before going silent.

“But seriously, you have random Alphas pledging loyalty to an alliance that you just created,” Mark says in awe as he kisses my cheek.

“Having allies from strong packs will dissuade Devin from attacking,” Cal says.

“Only if our allies are close enough to help,” I point out.

“Not necessarily,” dad says as he wheels himself up to our group. “If we are attacked, then they will seek retribution for us.”

“We need to get a list of everyone who is joining Ama’s alliance,” Vickie points out.

I am about to say something when Sam’s phone rings again. When I answer it, I don’t get a chance to say anything before voice cuts in.

“This had better be the white wolf,” a female growls in annoyance.

“Speaking,” I tell her.

“Finally, my mate and I have been trying to reach you since yesterday,” she says exasperatedly.

“Sorry, the number you all have is my Gamma’s number. But he gave me his phone so I can take your calls now,” I rush to explain.

“Good, the Shallow Claw pack is willing to join your alliance,” she says.

“Thank you,” I tell her.

“Don’t thank me yet. Roman and I want to meet you before we fully commit,” she tells me.

“You can visit sometime next week at your convenience,” Cal speaks up so the Luna can hear.

“Perfect, except us on Tuesday,” she says before hanging up.

“Wow, you have Luna Angelina wanting to meet you,” Mark whistles.

“Another honor I presume?” I ask as I look at my mates.

“Yes, the Shallow Claw pack is a pack that owns the much of the Missouri Valley territory in Missouri. They are one of the largest packs in the United States, if not the world,” Cal explains.

“Not to mention, they are practically our neighbors,” Mark points out.
