Chapter 342
When David saw Robert’s car leave, he got extremely anxious and ran out after it, but he only caught a glimpse before the car disappeared.
David stomped his foot in frustration. “Oh, Cedrick, why didn’t you stop Mr. Cruz? You should have had a proper talk with him!”
Cedrick didn’t say a word, just asked David for the keys. “Give me the car keys. I’m borrowing your car.”
As David gave him the keys, he asked anxiously, “Did you mention the company matter to him?”
Cedrick took the keys and got into the car.
“Hey, where are you going?”
“If you take the car, how am I supposed to get back later?”
David shouted after the exhaust fumes.
In the blink of an eye, Cedrick had also disappeared with the car.
David walked back to the coffee table dejectedly, his mind still on the company’s business. He even told Nova, “Cousin, next time that gentleman comes to buy coffee, let me know.”
Zoe shot him a look. “What are you planning to do now?”
“Are you really thinking of helping your good buddy win Lucille back?”
“Don’t you dare do something so stupid!”
“I’m not.”
David looked genuinely worried. “Mr. Cruz didn’t reject my invitation just now. He even said we could have dinner sometime. Doesn’t that mean there’s still a glimmer of hope for our company?”
“I definitely have to keep at it.
Zoe: … You’re the only one taking work seriously.
Lucille and Robert bought the coffee and went home, where they saw their grandmother packing

her things.

They both smiled. Ever since their grandmother’s visa was approved, the old woman had started packing, spending every day pondering what to take with her abroad.
Robert had told her not to bring anything, that his mom had prepared everything over there.
But Grandma said she wasn’t thinking about everyday items, but what to bring for Alicia Chen.
And it turned out to be more than just a little…
She looked like she wanted to pack up every local specialty and snack from the streets of Seaston.
Grandma added, “These were all Alicia’s childhood favorites.”
So, as soon as Lucille walked in and saw her grandma busy in the dining room, she tiptoed over, hugged her around the waist, and asked playfully, “Grandma, what treats are you whipping up for
Auntie now?”
Grandma turned, took hold of her, and smiled. “Teasing your grandma again.”
“I’m not!”
Lucille chuckled. “Actually, I hope you prepare even more. My brother can do all the heavy lifting anyway, and I’ll get to enjoy some good food in that so–called food desert!”
Hearing that, Grandma grew worried. “A food desert?”
She glanced at Robert. “No wonder your brother is so thin. It must be because he hasn’t been eating properly.‘
Robert couldn’t help but laugh at his grandma’s comment. “Grandma, I’m not skinny. You have no idea how much the girls love a build like mine!
The food abroad might not be as good as in Seaston, but I’m not starving.”
Grandma latched onto his first point. “So where are all these girls?”
Robert: …
It was the first time Lucille had ever seen her brother speechless, and she burst out laughing.
Robert shot his sister an exasperated look. “Weren’t you guys talking about ordering some Heritage Candies from the Artisanal Confectionery to take with you?
It’s about time to place the order. When should we go?”

He changed the subject.
“Tomorrow or the day after.”

Lucille did a quick mental calculation. She knew an Artisanal Confectionery that specialized in making Heritage Candies the old–fashioned way, but there was a waitlist for custom orders. They were short on time and couldn’t put it off any longer.
Grandma smiled, letting Robert off the hook. “Lucille and I will go together.”
“Alright, I’ll have the driver take you. I won’t go.”
