“That’s exactly what you meant!”
Maricela grabbed her phone, sent the money back, and cried pitifully, “Cedrick, I don’t want your money. I want you to know that I don’t care if the whole world misunderstands me. I only care about what you think of me…”
“I get it, I get it…” Cedrick said quickly.
“As long as you understand.”
Maricela smiled through her tears. “Cedrick, come and eat. I bought your favorite Spicy Poached Fish Fillet.”
“You two go ahead and eat. I have something to do right now, I have to go out…” he said hurriedly.
“Whatever it is, you should eat before you go!”
Maricela quickly opened the food container.
“No, you guys eat.”
Cedrick looked through his phone contacts as he walked, found the number he was looking for, and made the call. “Hello, Mylee? It’s Cedrick.”
Maricela, who had followed him out, heard him and wondered why he was calling Mylee.
So she followed him closely and heard Cedrick continue speaking.
“Here’s the thing. Lucille is back, and her grandmother is in the hospital. We need someone to take care of her grandmother now. If you don’t have anything else going on, would you be able to come back and help?”
“Right. We don’t know for how long yet. It would be great if it’s long–term, but if not, just until her grandmother recovers would be good too.”
“Okay, then tomorrow. I’ll come pick you up tomorrow.”
Maricela had unconsciously followed him to the elevator. When Cedrick got in and turned around, he was startled to see her there too.

“Oh, Cedrick…” Maricela said quickly, “I was just trying to get you to come back and cat. Arc you sure you won’t eat? Aren’t you hungry?”
“Yeah, Lucille’s grandmother is in the hospital. I have to go to the hospital.”
“Oh, okay, then you should go. Her health is what’s important…” Maricela said, her face full of concern. “How is Lucille’s grandmother? What’s wrong with her?”
“It’s fine, don’t worry.”
Cedrick brushed her off with a few vague words.
But those few words were enough to put Maricela’s mind at ease…
It seemed Cedrick still didn’t know what had happened to Mrs. Radford. Had that venomous man in black not told Cedrick?
Or had he not told Lucille?
Anyway, it’s good that it’s a secret. As for Jaxon and the others, they won’t talk…
But, Cedrick actually wants that country girl to come back?
Looks like I’ll have to pay a visit to that country girl’s school…
Cedrick bought a meal suitable for a patient and went to the hospital.
Inside the hospital room, the scene was warm and cheerful.
Grandma had woken up the day before with her vision affected, seeing only white light. After the doctor adjusted her medication, she was much better today.
Just a moment ago, Lucille and Robert had finished feeding her.
Grandma’s body had been severely damaged, but once she was no longer in mortal danger, she began to recover very quickly.
She seemed in much better spirits today than yesterday, especially with her granddaughter by her side and also seeing her grandson, Robert; she was happy, so her condition naturally improved.
Edwin was very efficient. Robert was looking for a house, and one was found quickly. He called him to go see it, since a house is too personal a choice for him to decide on; Robert had to go see
it himself.
“I’m heading out for a bit, Grandma, Lucille. If you need anything, just call the caregiver. I’ll be back soon.”

Robert said.
“Go on, go take care of your business.”
Lucille said quickly.
Robert smiled, “I don’t really have much to do. I’ll be right back.”

He had gotten his grandmother a private room. Last night, both he and Lucille had slept there–he on the sofa, and Lucille on a dedicated companion bed.
