Chapter 266
“What do you people really want?
I have no quarrel with you…” Fear made her tremble uncontrollably. The problem was, she had no idea who these people were
“Where did Jaxon hide the person?”
Just one question, simple and direct.
Maricela understood. “You’re the people Lucille sent, right?”
“That’s right.”
The man asked his assistant, “Don’t we have a shipment leaving port in the next day or two?”
“Yes.”
Maricela was completely confused. Why were they talking about business?
Then, the man looked at her and sneered, “Miss Katherine, you’ve been back for a while, haven’t
you?
Do you miss Mr. FORD?
Why don’t you go back on our cargo ship? Trust us, we’ll make sure you get there safely.”
Maricela’s face turned deathly pale.
The man’s words could only mean two things. One was that they would really send her back!
No!
She would never go back!
And the other possibility… she didn’t even dare to think about it.
The ocean is so vast. Who knew which port they would dump her in, or what would be waiting for her there?
Or, they could throw her into the sea in the middle of the ocean to feed the fish, leaving no trace behind!

She looked at this man as if she were looking at a venomous snake…

She had no choice. Besides confessing how she transferred the money to Monica, how she bailed out Jaxon, and how she hinted for them to go after Eleanor, she had no other choice. In the end, she also revealed where Jaxon was hiding Eleanor.
The man who got the information left immediately, tossing a final sentence over his shoulder, “Watch her. If a single word is a lie, she can choose between feeding the sharks in the sea or being a slave in some godforsaken place!”
After that, the lights went out, and the place was plunged into darkness.
She tried crawling around to flip any switches to turn on the lights, but it was useless. She did find the switches, but they had cut the power.
A space with no light was enough to make anyone despair.
If they really never came back, she would go crazy in this claustrophobic darkness long before she starved to death.
Finally.
Someone came.
She didn’t know who it was; she couldn’t see clearly at all. She couldn’t remember the leader’s figure, only the glint from the face of his watch and his terrifying presence.
But she couldn’t care about that now. She scrambled over, “Let me out!
Did you find her?
How is she?
Is she still alive?
Please, let me out!
I just told them where Eleanor was. I just wanted them to take her away so Cedrick wouldn’t always be thinking about that old woman. I didn’t want them to hurt her!
I really didn’t!
Any consequences for the old woman were caused by Jaxon!
It has nothing to do with me!

Chapter 266
It really has nothing to do with me…”
She was scared…

Scared that if Eleanor was really tortured to death, the man in the black shirt would actually put her on a cargo ship in a fit of rage.
Once on the ship, being thrown into the sea to feed the fish would be getting off easy. She was afraid of that godforsaken place he mentioned. Being a slave in a place like that wasn’t about actual work; it would be a fate worse than death. She’d be better off eaten clean by the fish…
She had never hoped for Eleanor to be okay as much as she did right now…
Terrified, she begged the people in front of her, “Did you find her?
How is Eleanor?
Please, let me go… I really didn’t want to hurt her, I just…”
“Take her away.”
Edwin ordered.
The bodyguards threw a sack over her and carried her out of the basement.
