Chapter 253
“I already answered once. You don’t mind, do you?
He doesn’t know where Grandma is, he was just…” Robert didn’t finish his sentence.
That was exactly what Lucille was hesitating about. Since he didn’t have any news about Grandma, there was no point. She wasn’t in the mood to get tangled up with him.
So, Cedrick’s calls, one after another, went unanswered.
Cedrick was sitting in his office at the company, with a group of people waiting outside.
“What’s going on?
We have a meeting. Is Mr. Maynard still busy?”
Harlan Peterson came over and asked.
The secretary looked troubled. “I’ve already reminded him a few times, but Mr. Maynard hasn’t
come out.”
“Let me see.”
Harlan knocked on the door and pushed it open. “Cedrick, not done yet?
Everyone’s waiting for you for the meeting.”
“Coming.”
Cedrick finally put away his phone and stood up.
In the conference room, the company’s senior management and some mid–level managers were all seated, waiting for Cedrick.
“Sorry, something held me up. Let’s start.”
Cedrick sat down, still a bit distracted.
Harlan then continued for him, “For today’s meeting, let’s get straight to the point. ROSSI, the largest company in our industry worldwide, I’m sure you all know of it.

It’s reported that Bryan Clark has passed away, and the current heir is his only son, Gabriel Rossi
Cruz.
Now, Leo plans to shift the business focus to our country, and has even sent CEO Edwin to set up in Seaston. I hear Leo himself will be coming over soon. ROSSI will likely be looking for a partner in the country, and our company’s biggest task this year is to secure a partnership with them.”
After Harlan finished speaking, he looked at Cedrick.
Cedrick snapped out of his daze. “Right. Although ROSSI hasn’t officially announced any partnership invitations, it’s an open secret in the industry that our company…
Cedrick paused here.
His inner thoughts were: Our company isn’t doing well this year. Two major moves in a row have failed. One was the partnership with Jaiden Wyatt, and the other was with the from the Capital City: Both fell through for some inexplicable reason.
But he couldn’t say this in the meeting. He just silently went over the words in his head and continued, “Our company, this time, must land ROSSI. In other words, we have to win over Leo.”
After that, the meeting lasted the entire morning, focusing on researching strategies and plans.
After the meeting, the worried look on Cedrick’s face didn’t fade.
Harlan, who came out with him, saw his expression and couldn’t help but say, “Cedrick, don’t worry. This partnership will definitely work out. I’ve already made contact with Edwin.”
Cedrick nodded. What was on his mind right now wasn’t about ROSSI.
“It’s not just me saying this, Cedrick, but our stagnation this year is mainly because the last two partnerships didn’t work out.”
Harlan followed Cedrick into the CEO’s office.
After sitting down, Cedrick pinched the bridge of his nose. “So, this time, we have to succeed. We can’t fail.”
“Cedrick, do you believe in mysticism?”
Harlan sat down closer to him. “Don’t you think the last two times failed for the same reason?”

“It was all because of Lucille.”
Harlan said, “Now that Lucille isn’t around, it’s sure to work out.”
“What nonsense!”
Cedrick frowned, showing his displeasure with the comment.
“It’s true.”
Harlan said, “In business, sometimes you have to believe in mysticism. Cedrick, you and Lucille have incompatible star signs. Since you married her, has anything good happened to you?”
Cedrick said distractedly, “Stop talking nonsense. When did the company go public?”
“Wasn’t it after I got married?”
