Chapter 249
Lucille Radford hailed a cab from the Wilson family airport with Robert Radford and headed straight for her grandmother’s apartment complex.
Aydan Hurley and Meredith Gomez were worried, so they got into the same car with them.
“Lucille, don’t worry. We’re almost there.”
Meredith said comfortingly, seeing how anxious she was.
Aydan added, “Yeah, my sister just visited Grandma yesterday.”
Lucille nodded. It was true, Yvonne Wilson Hurley had just visited Grandma yesterday, and she had video–called her grandmother the day she flew out, but for some reason, this feeling of panic was just so strange.
An hour later, they arrived at the complex.
Lucille rushed to her grandmother’s temporary home as fast as she could and was stunned when she opened the door.
Grandma wasn’t there.
She really wasn’t there!
The place was a mess!
Everyone else was stunned too.
They immediately split up.
Meredith went to find the building management, Robert stayed with Lucille to search the neighborhood, and Aydan went straight to report it to the police, creating a group chat to share updates.
Lucille turned on her local phone, and a flood of missed calls and texts came in, but she didn’t have time to look, just dialing her grandmother’s number or sending her video call requests.
But her grandmother’s phone was off.
Half an hour later, Meredith got the security footage from management, while Lucille and Robert

The footage showed Grandma leaving the complex with three others – Lucille’s parents and Tristen Radford.
“Those three wolves!”
Lucille held her phone, feeling helpless and exhausted.
“Let’s go. We’ll all go to the local police station and ask for their help with the footage.”
Meredith supported Lucille as tears streamed down her face.
Lucille nodded, and the three of them rushed to the local police station as fast as they could.
It was just a family dispute, and the person who took Grandma was her own son, but Lucille begged and pleaded, explaining the conflict between her parents and her grandmother over and over again.
In the end, Lucille asked for just one thing: to help check if her grandmother had bought any plane or train tickets, and where she had gone.
The search revealed that all four of them had returned to Seaston.
They went by plane.
And they had already arrived.
Lucille didn’t know how many times she had called her grandmother’s phone today, but it still wouldn’t go through, always saying it was turned off, and no one answered her video call requests.
So she called her dad’s phone.
It went through.
But her dad didn’t answer; he just hung up.
She then tried her mom’s and Tristen’s numbers, but no one answered those either.
She called almost every number she could, even the village leader, to ask if Grandma had
returned home, but the village leader said no, that no one had been at the house for over a month, except for when William Maynard had visited.
“Let’s go back to Seaston!

Back to Seaston first!”
Lucille’s hand holding the phone was trembling; she wasn’t interested in William.
She had no idea how her grandmother was doing!
And she had no idea how they had found her!
Also, wasn’t her dad supposed to be in a detention center?
The case for kidnapping her hadn’t even been closed yet!
How did he get out?

There were so many questions swirling in her head on the plane back to Seaston that she didn’t hear a single word Robert and Aydan said.
Robert felt helpless. He could only watch over her and take care of her. When she refused to eat the airplane meal, he forced a carton of yogurt open for her. “If you don’t eat, I’m going to have to feed you myself.”
Lucille’s mind was a mess. She chugged her yogurt in one go, wondering where to go first in Seaston.
