Chapter 163
Tristen’s business thrived solely on Cedrick’s backing, functioning as one of his key suppliers. Its survival hinged on Cedrick.
Throughout her five–year marriage, Lucille endured contempt. Shame gnawed at her while she treaded carefully. Her family fueled that shame–since the wedding, they’d clung to Cedrick like leeches sucking blood. Houses, cars, mon- ey, Tristen’s company… they’d grown fat on his resources.
Knowing her family’s nature, Lucille lived in constant dread that they’d cause Cedrick irreparable harm. She watched Tristen’s operations discreetly, but her limited mobility and isolation hindered proper investigation. For years, she found nothing. Until now–a sudden breakthrough.
Before she could process this discovery, her parents and Tristen actually showed up at grandmother’s door–perfect timing, she could use it.
This was her first visit to Tristen’s company, and he clearly had no clue she was coming.
Tristen’s company wasn’t as big as Cedrick’s, and it didn’t have so many rules. She went straight to his office and pushed the door open.
Tristen was getting cozy with his girlfriend, completely unprepared for anyone to barge in. He spun around and yelled, “Who the hell is so bold? Don’t you have eyes…”
Before he could finish, he saw it was Lucille.
“What are you doing here?”
Tristen had no respect for her at all, and after their fight at grandmother’s, seeing her was like facing an enemy.
Tristen’s girlfriend tugged him from behind.
Tristen held back his temper and asked Lucille to sit.
Lucille stood, wanting to see how he’d act up.
“Lucille, is this your first time formally meeting Yue’er?”
Tristen said, “Let me introduce, this is my sister who married Cedrick, this is my girlfriend Yue’er.”
“Lucille.”
Yue’er called her sweetly, her eyes fixed on Lucille’s bag and clothes.
Lucille had lived a reclusive life for five years, but she wasn’t stupid; she couldn’t miss such blatantly greedy eyes.
Yue’er said with a forced smile, “Lucille, your bag and clothes are all big brands.”

Lucille was a bit surprised; her brother had been doing business with Cedrick’s support these past two years, so he shouldn’t be unable to afford a bag. As far as she knew, Tristen had taken a lot of money he shouldn’t have.
Lucille replied lightly, “Not bad.”
Yue’er tugged hard at Tristen’s clothes.
Tristen then said matter–of–factly, “Lucille, it’s Yue’er’s first time calling you sis, shouldn’t you give a meeting gift?
No need to give much, just give a bag like yours.”
Yue’er smiled with pursed lips behind Tristen, her eyes sparkling.
Lucille looked at Tristen and Yue’er, wondering how they had the nerve to say such things.
“Lucille, hurry up, don’t make Yue’er think our family doesn’t like her.”
Tristen began to urge impatiently.
Lucille scoffed, “Do I look like I like her?”
“Lucille, what do you mean?”
Tristen’s eyes were bloodshot, who knows what he was doing at night.
“I said, I never liked her in the first place.”
Lucille lifted her chin.
“Tristen…” Yue’er began to shake Tristen’s hand.
Tristen, having lost face, pointed at Lucille’s nose, his features distorted with anger, “What do you mean?
I only call you sis out of respect for your husband, do you think you’re that important?
Just a cripple, yet you act all high and mighty!”
You see, this is learned behavior.
Because since childhood, her family didn’t take her seriously, so even her brother didn’t take her seriously.
“Tristen, I didn’t come today to reconnect, I came for Grandma’s house.”
She didn’t plan to bother with these two weirdos anymore.
Tristen laughed upon hearing this, “Grandma’s house?
You don’t think you’ll get a share, do you?
I tell you, no matter how it’s divided, this house won’t come to you, it’s Dad’s!
