Wrong For Slater
**Artemis**
What am I thinking have not just two but five boyfriends seemingly overnight?!
I didn't think, Slater and Camden would be the types to share me with anyone else. Those two have always been protective and possessive of me. I feel that in the back of theirs, they knew this day would come when my two high school sweethearts would come back into my life.
Preston though, that was unforeseen! He is a stranger to me, but the other men know him well enough to be willing to share me and themselves with him. He is the one I know the least about. I know I have changed and so have Roan and Razz, but we have history. Preston is the wild card.
Then there is the mind-blowing fact for me to contemplate that I'm having to share Slater! The other men are just as much drawn to him as they are to me! I don't blame them one bit.
That Latino stud is one of a kind. Slay has a dominating vibe in the bedroom and as a leader. He commands respect and expects it to be shown to him. He is intelligent, cunning, and a brilliant tactician. He organized the downfall of one gang and the half of his that followed his uncle. Now I've learned it's because the Death Kings backed him. That was five years ago. Since then he has expanded Ravagers territory and brokered peaceful partnerships with surrounding gangs.
But I can tell how much the things he has done for the crew have taken on him. He is beyond burned out and heads toward depletion. Slater is done with the leader the crew and that type of life. He is ready to move on, which would be better for us all.
The issue is, the crew is blood in and blood out. This means for Slater and Camden to be able to exit, they are going to have to bleed. If uncertain that will entail death or sacrifice. Neither are great options. The crew will view it as a betrayal of their brotherhood.
"Slayer isn't as ruthless as Axe was. I miss the days Axe was in charge. There weren't as many rules placed on members."
"Don't do this. Don't do that. No raping. No assault. No killing pigs, women, or children. No fucking or sell drugs to minors. The pussy has to be willing. No. No. No. No." Spittle lands on the floor at another server's feet as she walks by.
The other guy with the spitter slaps her ass, going against Slater's strict no sexually harassing his employees policy. That's not surprising considering these four men as talking about how much they dislike Slay's leadership of the crew.
As I'm flitting around serving my table I continue to keep my ears open.
"Like I was telling you earlier, Zen has got to go. Others agree," another man informs the two who spoke prior.
"We need to get his junkyard dog, Kill-shot out of the way to even get to Zen," the guy who I heard speak first that slapped their server's ass says.
"Once we get rid of Zen, I vote we put you in charge, Jack," the spitting guy says.
"That's a great idea. You're the one talking to the crew members and getting their views on how Slayer runs shit," the slapper guy remarks.
There are only three of them at the table. The guy named Jack is sitting across from the other two. He is blonde and skinny, and with his tattoos and haircut, he sort of looks like Jared Leto's version of the Joker. He looks to be around my age. The other men with him are equally covered in crew tattoos with dark hair.
"I'll think about it. I just wanted to see that we are all on the same page," Jack comments stealing a fry and then walking out.
I need to warn the guys.
"Hey, sweet cheeks! Bring another beer from your friend will you?" The ass slapper shouts at me.
I turn to them, plastering a saccharine smile on my face. "Sure, hun. Anything else I get ya?" I ask.
"You're Slayer old lady ain't ya?" The spitter gives my buxom figure a once over. "You're a big girl." I roll my eyes at his observations.
"Let me go get those beers," I comment walking away.
My shift is up so I send the beers with the bartender Dax. Dax is a big man and an ex-convict. He is a big teddy bear who looks after servers, so we suggest he takes drinks to a table, he knows that table is causing issues.
I find Preston at the bar talking with Ronin. "Hey, guys. Did Slay make it in yet?" They share a look. "What is it?" I demand crossing my arms with a scowl.
It's been a month since we started this relationship.
We've only had sex as a group once, though I've had each of them individually, except for Preston.
I need to remedy that soon. Maybe Preston could spend a day or two together.
"Slay went the his doctor's appointment this morning and no one has from him since," Ronin comments, and alarm bells blare in my head. It's now past noon.
"Where's Cam and Razz?"
"Security room," Preston informs me. He is now more alert and not as laid as he was a moment ago talking with Roan.
"Let's go Slater's office," I suggest. They follow me to his office in the back of the building.
"I'm going to call the doctor's office," I say, sitting in Slater's chair. Preston and Razz sit in the chairs in front of the desk. "Preston, call the hospital. Roan, keep trying Slay's cell."
I don't want to pull Camden and Razz from their updating of the security cameras and system. It must get done.
The doctor's office staff answers. I tell them who I'm looking for and who I am. "His doctor had him admitted to the hospital this morning. He fell unconscious during his appointment this morning. His heartbeat was irregular just before that."
"Okay. I'll call the hospital to get his room number. Thank you."
"He is in ICU," Preston announces. "His heart is failing."
"I'll ask Cam's mom if she can watch boys for a little longer. They don't need to see him like that." I'm in shock.
Slater is athletic, takes his medications and vitamins, and he eats healthy….How can his heart be failing? He is only thirty-three.
"I'll go let Razz and Cam know what's going on," Ronin says.
As soon as he leaves, I sob.
What else could go wrong for Slater?
How can things possibly get worse for him?
Will life ever get better for him?
