“What’s wrong Gabriel? What’s wrong Sam, did the cat get to your tongue, papa knew one of you would come for him, one of you would do anything possible to make sure you take control of the mafia so he made the decision.” I started with a smile on my face. “We know he is smart so let’s not pretend he is not and from the looks of your face, you wish you realized that sooner.”
I wanted them to know that, they can’t hurt me even if they want to, they can’t make me cry anymore and this home belongs to me and not any of them.
“Now if this is over, all of you can leave, and maybe when the time is right. Adrian and I will have a proper traditional wedding, maybe we will quite soon, none of you can challenge the concept or the marriage we have, Papa wanted it, say all you want, maybe if I am feeling like a better person, I will make sure to invite all of you to the merging ceremony.” I explained with a smile on my face
“Be ware, whatever you say to me you say to my wife, if you plan on hurting her, you will hurt me too and it may not end well for any of you, it’s never going to be good for any of you, she is my queen, the Donna to both of the mafia and unlike her papa, I am different with new sets of rules, unless you are contributing something to the mafia neither of you will get any protection.”
“You can’t do that, we are blood we are family.”
“The only direct blood is Gabriel and he was banished and if he thinks he can come into the mafia and get what he thinks belongs to him, he is wrong, he was taken out of the will a long time ago,” Adrian said.
My mind filled with happiness as I stared at him, that’s what I wanted, I wanted him to take charge and teach them a lesson, it’s a as enough I am not allowed to lead, it’s bad enough I am not allowed to be any part of the mafia properly
Maybe it’s one of the few things that I will make sure gets changed. I will make sure that everything happens the way I want.
“Now get going before I bring the guards in.” I smiled.
“You are making a mistake Elara, you have no idea who this man is and what he can do to you, he only wants you for the mafia and once it’s done, he will treat you like otherwise.” Gabriel gritted through his teeth.
“Is it the same way you treated all of those people who’s life you ruined, or is it the same way that you treated your family to an extent that you were banished from the family, you were asked to leave and never to return and your parents died nor caring if you are alive or not, you have a lot to say Gabriel, when it comes to someone’s character, someone like you need to keep shut.” I gritted my teeth.
At the same moment, I saw the guard heading into the room, a wave of anger washed over me as I stared at them.
I never wanted to see them again, that once-in-a-year sinner, that’s a promise Papa was forced to follow, not me, he didn’t ask me that, he asked me to be happy and for my happiness, I can’t speak to any of them, I can’t let myself care for any of them.
I didn’t even want to ever come close to any of them.

The moment they left, I felt like a heavy weight had been lifted off my shoulder, my breathing started to become a bit better and my eyes filled with tears
“Elara, are you alright?” Adrian asked and I had a
smile on my face, my eyes were on his for a moment when he leaned in and he wrapped his hand around me, he pulled me closer to him.
“I am a bit overwhelmed, I have to pretend so much that his face, his actions didn’t affect me and to be honest it did.” I breathed out.
I can’t live with the fact that, he is evil, when he has my father’s face.
“I want him to leave, I want it to be like the way it was before, I never want to see him again, I don’t even want to remember that he is in existence and as for my family, I want them gone too, away from here, I don’t ever want to bump into them,” I stated and he nodded.
“I will make sure they never bother you again.” He said and I smiled
The moment I find out who killed Papa, I will be sure they are all banned from stepping into the city, unless they want my men to hunt them, unless they want my men to make sure there is nothing left of any of them.
I didn’t leave the dining room, instead, I settled down and started to eat properly.
“Did you ever find Sarah?” I asked as he stared at me, my breath hitches waiting for him to utter the words I am dying to hear.
“No.”
“She is gone isn’t she?” I whispered so low, as if I was scared, maybe I am, I know I care for Sarah, I also know that, she has always been someone good, like a sister to me but a part of me hated her for what she has done, I hated her for even hurting my papa.
If she needed help, she could have asked but she didn’t, she never wanted to, because maybe deep down she wanted him dead.
“We will find her and we will get every answer that we need, for now I don’t need you thinking about it.”
“It’s too bad that’s all I can ever think about.” I breathed out.
