Chapter 285 The Grand Wedding (Part 1)

Chapter 285 The Grand Wedding (Part 1)

Cynthia and Augustus's wedding was held at Seaside Gardens.

The morning sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, gently filling the entire room.

Today was Cynthia's wedding day, and the air was filled with a faint floral scent and nervous anticipation.

The makeup artist had been waiting downstairs early. After Cynthia got up, she went to have breakfast first. In the living room, she saw the busy servants and a nervous Beatrice.

"Cynthia, you're up!"

Beatrice was directing the servants to replace a painting on the wall. She had been bothered by it since she woke up this morning because the main figure in the painting had no smile, so she wanted to replace it with an oil painting that had smiling faces.

Beatrice wore a haute couture dress with a minimalist design that made her look both elegant and capable.

"Mom, this dress really suits you."

"Cynthia!"

Just as she finished speaking, Randolph hurried down from the second floor. "Cynthia, should I wear this black suit or this dark blue one?"

Beatrice rolled her eyes at Randolph. "You've been struggling over which suit to wear since last night, and you still haven't decided?"

Randolph looked helpless. "It's Cynthia's wedding today. Of course, I want to look my best! I was so worried about it, I couldn't sleep last night!"

Cynthia smiled happily. "Dad, I think the black one looks good. It matches Mom's dress better."

"Great! Black it is then!"

With that, Randolph went upstairs to change.

"Cynthia!"

Hugh's voice came from behind. "Look what gift I prepared for you!"

Hugh held a small box and handed it to Cynthia with a proud expression. "I must be the first one to give you a wedding gift, right?"

This time, he finally beat his four other brothers!

"I already gave Cynthia her gift last night." Delmar brought out a plate of pastries from the kitchen and casually shattered Hugh's pride. "You're not the first one to give a gift."

Delmar placed the pastries in front of Cynthia. "Cynthia, try this dessert. It tastes pretty good."

For Cynthia's wedding, the Lockhart family had specially hired world-class chefs and pastry chefs to handle all the wedding food.

"Well, then I'm the second one to give a gift." Hugh took a pastry and ate it, consoling himself. "That's not bad either."

Ethan and Raymond's voices came from nearby. "We already sent our gifts back a week ago."

They walked up to Hugh. "Hugh, you're the last one."

Hugh was almost in tears.

"You guys! Why didn't you tell me earlier!"

To compete for Cynthia's affection, these men were really too much!

"Cynthia!"

Excited female voices came from the doorway. Flora, Vera, and Angela rushed in carrying huge bouquets.

"Happy wedding!"

Cynthia took the flowers and happily thanked them.

Vera handed over an exquisite jewelry box. "This is the gift I prepared for you."

Inside the box lay a blue diamond necklace with a unique and outstanding design. The diamond was crystal clear and absolutely beautiful.

"I designed this especially for you. I hope you like it."

Giving her own design to a design expert, Vera was still a bit nervous.

"I love it!"

Cynthia happily took out the necklace and handed it to the makeup artist.

"Help me wear this one today."

Vera's eyes instantly lit up.

Cynthia was actually going to wear the necklace she designed! And at such a grand moment as her wedding! She was almost moved to tears.

This was the greatest recognition for a designer!

Angela and Flora also presented their gifts.

Angela gave a globally limited-edition handbag that would go well with Cynthia's everyday outfits.

Flora's gift left Cynthia speechless for a long time.

Flora calmly said, "The fighter jet's materials and design can withstand attacks below nuclear level."

Angela and Vera, beside her, were completely shocked.

Flora had actually given Cynthia an airplane!

Although they knew the York family was among the world's top wealthy families, this was incredibly generous!

"Cynthia is my only friend," Flora said. "You're getting married, so of course I want to give you the best thing as a wedding gift."

Flora had watched Cynthia all the way to today, leaving that cold-blooded family and finally finding her own happiness.

Flora was happier than anyone.

After the greetings, Cynthia changed into her dress and took photos with her friends.

When it was about time, Cynthia started getting her makeup and hair done.

When Cynthia walked out in her wedding dress, everyone on the first floor was stunned.

Vera was the first to stand up, her eyes wide. "Cynthia, you're so beautiful!"

Angela couldn't help but exclaim, "You're the most beautiful bride I've ever seen!"

Vera held her chin and thought for a moment. "This design is very rare, and every design detail is your favorite type. It must have been personally designed by someone who knows your preferences very well."

Cynthia nodded sweetly. "This is the wedding dress Augustus designed for me himself."

"Oh my god, that's so romantic!"

"Yes, Augustus personally designed a wedding dress for the woman he loves," Angela sighed. "When will I meet a man like that?"

"You can pick any single male guest at today's wedding."

Cynthia winked at Angela. "If you see a man you like, just tell me, and I'll make it happen!"

"Cynthia!"

Angela excitedly rushed over and hugged Cynthia. "I knew you were the best!"

"It's about time."

Ethan slowly walked over. "We should get going."

He looked at Cynthia tenderly. Even the usually restrained and serious Ethan couldn't help but tear up at this moment.

"You look so beautiful today."

His sister deserved the most perfect happiness in this world.

"Ethan."

Cynthia moved closer and gently hugged Ethan. "I'm just getting married, it's not like we'll never see each other again."

Ethan patted Cynthia's back. "I'm just so happy."

Just as she finished comforting Ethan, Hugh's tears were already falling to the ground.

"Cynthia!"

He stretched out his arms wanting to get to Cynthia, and just as he was about to hug her, Beatrice grabbed his ear.

"Cynthia needs to leave for the wedding venue. Don't waste her time."

Hugh felt hurt. Why was the whole family picking on him?

But Cynthia still walked over and hugged Hugh.

"Thank you, Hugh. I really like having you around. You make me feel relaxed and happy."

Hugh was almost moved to tears by Cynthia. "Cynthia is the best to me!"

Cynthia finally got in the car and arrived at Seaside Gardens.

The sunlight was perfect. White roses covered the archway. Cynthia's hair fluttered in the breeze. The lawn was covered with flower petals. The guests wore formal attire, and everyone's face showed a happy smile.

The champagne tower reflected warm golden light. The scene was grand yet warm, as romantic as a movie scene.

Augustus was already standing there in a sharp suit, his gaze intense and devoted, looking only at her from beginning to end.
