Chapter 253: Shawn
Chapter 253: Shawn
"Why are you here?" Shawn, upon seeing Bellamy, asked warily. Of course, he was aware that Ariel was dating the guy, but how dare he show up at her place at such an hour?
"To accompany her. She's asleep, so please lower your voice." Bellamy explained. If it was someone else questioning him, Bellamy was sure the person would be dead by then. But this was one of his brothers-in-law. There's no way he'd want to have bad blood with the brothers to his girlfriend. He didn't want his road to get her to be fully his to be filled with more 'obstacles.'
"Get lost." Shawn said and sidestepped him to go into the house. Bellamy awkwardly touched his nose before turning to leave. He sighed inwardly. It seemed like it would be so hard to get along with this particular brother. But he had to try. Otherwise, Ariel would feel bad. Bellamy wasn't scared that something would happen to Ariel. His brother was around, so he could rest assured. The only men he could willingly allow to be around Ariel were her relatives. Even so, he always felt jealous because she would end up spending more time with them than she did with him. He was her boyfriend, for heaven's sake. He couldn't voice his thoughts to her, though, unless he wanted to be called petty by Ariel. At least she liked him back anyway. Ariel had no idea what thoughts were going on in Bellamy's mind. She didn't care. She had to balance everything, and that's exactly what she normally did.
Shawn entered the house, and the smell inside made his tense nerves instantly relax. He knew his sister wasn't an ordinary person because she would make him incense to burn whenever he had migraines or was weary from the job he was doing. He sat down on the couch after pouring himself a glass of juice. It had been so long since he had seen her. He was busy with work and only barely got the time to rest. When he did, he came directly to see Ariel. He really liked her. She was the only person who didn't mind his job. She was also very relaxed around him. Truth is, Shawn hated cowards. He liked brave and courageous people, and that's why he was so picky about who to let into his life.
As for that man; Bellamy's face flashed across his mind. He was a good catch for Ariel. Only such a person was worthy of being with his sister. It's just that he couldn't accept that his favorite sister was about to be snatched by him. It was a bit uncomfortable.
Ariel slept for God-knows-how-long, and by the time she woke up, it was the wee hours of the morning. She remembered that Bellamy had come to visit. Maybe he was still in the living room? She made her way to the living room to check on the situation. She assumed that Bellamy was still working .
"Bella-" Ariel had started calling out when she realized that it wasn't him. She squinted as she drew closer. It turned out that it was her brother. The guy slept without even covering himself. Wasn't he afraid that he would catch a cold? Ariel went back and picked a clean blanked from her collection before covering him with it. She made sure not to make any noise. Then, she went and sat on another couch and began typing on her laptop. It was so peaceful that she subconsciously raised the corners of her lips into a smile. She was so engrossed in what she was doing that she didn't notice that Shawn had woken up an hour and a half later. Shawn glanced at her beautiful hands that were dancing on the keyboard and felt proud. Of course, that was her sister. Who else could have such beautiful hands?
He slowly inched towards her.
"What are you-"
