Chapter 24

She felt a dull discomfort where the table's edge touched her thighs. Well, she failed to dress herself. Sure, she got some new bruises, but at least she didn't hurt her sensitive areas. She would have yelled bloody murder for her stupidity if she weren't so sleepy.

Jake and Darien burst into the room, their faces shocked. Crap.

Jake agreed with Darien when he said, "Odin's knees."

He and his brother pushed the table away from her quickly. We ought to leave her bound in the bed. Jake grinned sarcastically at her.

Lelandi only managed a weak, low growl.

Darien had the nerve to smile as Jake arched an eyebrow, even though she was unsure of his thoughts.

damnably amusing She would bite him if his arm weren't so far from where her fangs were.

Silva hurried into the room and exclaimed, "No, oh no. "I shouldn't have let you be by yourself for so long. Nurse Grey will arrive shortly. Doc was unconscious in his office, and she was attempting to revive him.

He is fine, right? Lelandi was picked up off the ground by Darien, but one of his hands accidentally entered the back opening of the gown. Her temperature increased as a result of his heated fingers touching her bare flesh, and based on the expression he gave her, she was certain that it alarmed him just as much as it concerned her. After placing her on the bed, he moved her medical gown such that the scant material fell past her knees. "Go on, Jake."

“What?”

"We're dressing her up and getting her out of here."

I'll be staying at your house. Silva took clothing from Lacy Garments & Accessories' pink bag. I'll have to help her get dressed and take a shower. So, boys, make plans for a sleepover.

Jake closed the door after shaking his head.

Silva, you can be a genuine pain in the ass, as you well know. Silva removed Lelandi's gown as Darien put on his sock with his back to her.

"You still adore me, boss," Silva gave Lelandi a wink. "I was unable to find a lovely lace bra to go with your pants. Although Lacy Garments & Accessories sells some wonderful see-through nightgowns, this dreadful establishment isn't really fashion-conscious. If we wore something similar. But, I considered this white lace bra to be attractive and cut somewhat lower so it wouldn't bother or touch your wounds. She pulled up her bra to hide herself.

She questioned whether Darien wanted to see to see how low-cut the bra was when he paused before putting on her other sock. That was small. That was a push-up that almost showed her nipples.

Although you really didn't need anything pushed up, it still looks great, sugar.

She could once more smell Darien's sex and feel his heart beating faster.

The poor gray was being pushed over the edge by Silva. So that you could easily get dressed, "I purchased you this wonderful, loose, button-down shirt."

Darien hissed softly. or groan. Due to the medication, Lelandi's hearing wasn't as good as it could have been.

"Boss, please help me get her jeans on so she can leave. No need for her to put on her boots. I'll drive behind in my car while we roll her out to your SUV.

Darien's attention was drawn to the clothing before shifting to Silva, who gave a shrug. "Are you ready to assist with the jeans?"

Lelandi's new panties caught his attention, and she hoped she could see what drew him to them. She thought he'd be a pro at getting her pants off, but he was having trouble helping her into them. She was unsure of why she was ever considering such a thing.

The jacket came last, and because she was so frail, it was bulky and heavy. Darien pushed her outside to where Jake was waiting outside the door after she had sat in the wheelchair.

Jake remarked as he walked next to Darien, "Everyone's

Doc, Ritka, the new janitor, the parents of a patient, Peter, Sam, and Uncle Sheridan were all slowly waking up from the drugged coffee. Uncle Sheridan, though, was hotter than a July heat wave. He is directing Trevor even though he is only partially awake and tapes off the break room. He cautioned us that the would-be assassin probably didn't leave any fingerprints. Later, Sam is hosting a beer and pizza party at our house.

“What?”

"When looking into the shootings, you missed the leader's meeting. I assumed you'd want to have the meeting now that you're taking the lady to your house. And because his barmaid will be present, she can serve as usual, Jake added.

Silva looked annoyed at him, but it seemed to be a phony expression. In a room packed of males, Lelandi reasoned that she enjoyed being the focus of attention. Attempting to be, at least. Or was it possible that she was secretly pining for Sam?

Jake pushed open the hospital side door while wearing his Stetson cap on his head. He stated that you must somehow pay your way.

Like I don't put in a lot of extra hours so the guys can drink more? Trevor, will you be on duty as a guard? Her tone was curiously upbeat.

The next time Lelandi saw the deputy seeming uninterested in Silva while she so desperately wanted to win his approval, she wanted to kick the deputy. Why did women pursue males who didn't reciprocate their affection?

What will we do with the sleeping arrangements? Jacob queried.

Silva turned to face Darien. Who gets to sleep with whom, boss?

Lelandi held her breath as she awaited Darien's response, torn between hoping he wanted her and wishing he would want to avoid her. She needed to complete her mission. He had given her all the kisses she needed. Furthermore, she swore she didn't want them.

She gasped and closed her eyes as her tongue traced the contours of her lips while recalling the way he had kissed her. She wondered whether any other man could do that to her. She wanted to locate him next, if he could. Don't bother trying to find her damned wayward brother.

Upon opening her eyes, she noticed that everyone was looking at her. Darien raised an eyebrow. Lelandi sleeps by herself. As soon as she exhaled, he grinned at her.

"I don't want somebody tripping over her injuries in the dead of night. Silva, unless one of my brothers agrees to give you his bed. Darien cocked his head to the side as if to inquire about any reservations she might have, then silenced himself abruptly.

Silva returned his frown. She was obviously uninterested in his brothers.

It's not my bed. I gave enough blood last night by staying up late, so I'm ready for a restful night's sleep," stated Jake.

"Jake, you have watch duty from four till six in the morning." To get to the SUV, Darien rolled the chair outdoors.

I'm able to handle it. Suppose you can sleep in whoever's bed isn't occupied while the guard is on duty, Jake stated to Silva. For Darien, he unlocked the passenger door. "How is Tom doing? He's doing okay, but you don't intend to put him on guard duty, do you?

He is eager to draw the trigger. I believe he is in love. Jake grimaced. "Tell him to go find a new female," I said.

Silva grinned. Indeed, this one is for sure already taken, I tell you.

Lelandi choked back a growl. After she identified the murderer and blackmailer, heck, once she found her gun and dealt with them, she was out of here.

She caught a glimpse of her cousin Ural staring from an old cinema theater across the street; the sign had faded, much like the rest of Silver Town. Her breathing almost stopped. He had his hood up to hide his face, but he was still sure to be sought after because his coat resembled an orange prison uniform on an escapee.

Shame on him for remaining. If the grays found him, they would crucify him since they believed he was responsible for her sister's passing and the shootings. Darien was particularly enraged by the fact that Mrs. Hastings had witnessed him abusing her. Not as they did with her when they were attempting to learn the truth, they wouldn't treat him with kid gloves either. All because he desired for her to return home before the pack leader learned of her whereabouts, or perhaps he desired for her to flee with him. She wasn't entirely certain of his intentions.

She quickly turned her head away so no one could see what had caught her eye, but Silva and Jake did. Darien follows.
