Chapter 53 - Return
Chapter 53 - Return
Kyria came back crying that night. She knew Sera would sacrifice herself. There was no other way, without Karim with them to help.
Nayssa hugged her tight as she came in. Something in her knew the redhead needed help. The alpha wondered, in the midst of her selfishness, if their connection had returned. However, it was not the time for this.
She let Kyria cry in her arms. It was hard to lose two friends in a single day, not knowing if they would return.
Kyria felt on the sofa in the living room and Nayssa stood up to prepare a chamomile tea for her. Meanwhile, Shadow was surrounding the redhead, trying to make her laugh.
Nayssa’s mind wandered through many thoughts, especially on what would happen now without Sera and Karim active for the fight. An intuition came to her mind and she decided to share with Kyria as she brought the tea to her:
"I think we should talk to Karim’s family, he is no longer here to protect them. We should warn them of their condition and that..." She sighed with regret. "It’s not something we can tell over the phone."
Kyria agreed to how much she drank her tea: "You’re right." She agreed with a nod. "We cannot tell the news in such an uncouth way."
So, 1 hour later, Shadow was already transporting them to the nearest house of the Ramesses. They would have to make a visit to the car route part, after all, there was something preventing them from getting closer. Which confirmed certain suspicions of Nayssa.
"Be careful. Let us know if there is any unforeseen event." Thomas signaled and then hugged each of them.
He and Joshua waved as they crossed the portal with Shadow on their heels.
The weather was strange outside that place protected by the Goddess. The sky had darkened and some howls could be heard from all sides.
Twilight had also gone out with them with a weak in his beak and another in his claws, it contained a red liquid, it was blood.
"What is that, Shadow?" Kyria asked, as Twilight left as fast as she could.
"The blood of our master. He can help make medicines and weapons. But he could not act while Kallias was active. Now we’re sure of the primordial alpha, but their partners are still active and formidable enemies too."
"So we have to be quick." Nayssa said. "They’ve already started acting."

It took only 30 minutes to get to the Ramesses' house. When they rang the intercom, Verena, Karim’s mother, greeted them with a smile.
"Come on in, dear ones, any friend of Karim is our guest."
Verena offered a coffee while the women told everything that happened. From marriage to Karim’s coma.
Verena widened her eyes in surprise and covered her face in tears. She did not believe that this was happening to her son. Your sweet Karim did not deserve this, even on the day of the wedding.
"O-where is he now?" She asked, comes stuttering and hiccups"
Kyria held her hand in comfort and replied, "In a safe place, protected by the Mother Goddess. Unfortunately, I don’t know if we can get her there, Mrs. Ramesses, but I can guarantee he’s safe."
Verena hugged her, looking for comfort and thanked her: "Thank you, dear ones. You are very kind." She gave them a smile. "Thank you for coming to tell us in person."
But nothing would be fine for long. As Nayssa expected. The sky was completely dark, covered with shadows and howling lupins.
The confusion made Otto Ramesses leave one of the rooms and go towards the attack.
" Otto. What are you doing? Call for reinforcements first." His wife screamed, trying to stop him. However, when she held him, he just pushed her, causing her to fall to the ground.
"Don’t meddle, Verena." he said, angry.
"What happened to you?" She stood up and yelled at her husband. "The Cohen’s hatred has driven you mad. You have to forget it, Otto."
"I can’t forget." He looked at her, his eyes yellow and bright. "I can’t forget the Cohens or the traitors. Our son is one of them, so I gave him up."
Verena growled and her eyes shone yellow, her fangs appeared and she approached her husband, enraged. A slap was heard and his face was marked. Tears of anger, hatred and disappointment were shed from her eyes.
" Our son. How could you give him up? How can you do that to MY son?" She cried out in tears, clenching her fists of anger. "How could you? Karim always respected you, always obeyed you, always did everything to please you and this is how you repay? What kind of father are you, Otto Ramesses?"
"Verena, understand. He doesn’t deserve to be our son. He’s a traitor." Otto tried to convince his wife by approaching her and touching her shoulder.
But she dodged him, turning away. Her look of disgust said much of what she thought of him.
Otto tried to approach again, but inside him his wolf growled. The door was broken open by lupine shadows.
Otto turned into a big gray wolf and attacked them, but he alone was not enough. Verena, Kyria and Nayssa decided to help.
Ramesses' wife called for help, but before that the house was surrounded. Even with all the clan to help, there were more than double of them attacking.
Shadows and fierce howls took care of the house of the Ramesses. Howls of pain were also part of the symphony. From all sides, there were wounded and dead, such events occurred in a few minutes.
Otto attacked one of the wolves, but ten were going to attack him. He had given up his son, yet still owed them.
"Have you forgotten your debt, Ramesses? The power to kill the Cohen clan?" said one of the wolves, teasing. "She still exists and you haven’t paid us." The shadow wolf laughed, his dark coat and red eyes were terrifying. "Your son may have been a good gift, but the debt remains."
The wolves attacked Otto and he could not defend himself. Verena tried to help her husband, but was thrown away.
The older wolves came to help, but they were also decimated. In the end, all who murdered the Cohen clan had been killed.
Otto cried out in his last moments, when his flesh was torn from by angry and hungry teeth. His wife screamed as she watched him, held by two wolves that held her on the ground. In the end, nothing remained. Only bones.
Kyria and Nayssa were fighting twice as many wolves, they were panting and wounded. Nayssa was dragging her hind leg slightly, but she could fight.
Until the enemies did something inexplicable, they retreated. A huge crow could be seen in the sky, frightening them. Jae Hyun had still left some resources prepared.
When the crow disappeared, only wolves of the Ramesses family remained dead and wounded. And Verona Ramesses crying for the remains of her husband and worrying where her son was.
