25- Scars of Possession

25- Scars of Possession
POV Edric Eldoria:

I drank her blood, marking her once again as mine. She tasted like honey—sweet and smooth. Warm, like a winter morning sun. If there was such a thing as paradise, I imagined it would taste like her.

She growled, resisting my domination.

I withdrew my teeth from her skin and lifted my face, leveling our gazes. Her eyes glowed brighter, her nails lengthened, misshapen in a half-transformation, and she bared her fangs at me, furious. I smiled, her blood dripping down my chin.

I inhaled, catching the scent of her arousal.

“I command you, little wolf,” I declared, before leaning in and crushing my lips against hers.

She stayed motionless for a few seconds, not reacting to my touch. But in the blink of an eye, her hands shot into my hair, fingers tugging through the strands.

I grabbed her hips, lifting her without pulling her back from the tree. She wrapped her legs around my waist, clinging to me.

I slid my tongue forward, forcing her lips apart. She yielded, and I groaned at her taste.

My cock was hard in my pants, ready to fuck her like the two animals we were. I squeezed her round ass, fingers digging into her hot flesh.

I wanted more. I wanted everything she had to give.

She bit my lower lip hard enough to draw blood. I groaned, and she matched me.

Her fingers tightened around my head, pulling me closer, as if there were still too much space between us.

I spread her thighs wider, rubbing my hard cock against her pussy, sliding up and down through the fabric of our clothes.

My heart collapsed, yearning for her, craving more. My chest burned, sensing her presence, detecting her, recognizing her as mine.

My tongue played with hers in slow, precise caresses, exploring every inch of her sly little mouth, drinking her taste, needing more. So much more.

I dragged my lips down her jaw, trailing them along her neck.

I kissed her pulsing vein, licking her sweaty skin.

Blonde hair, long and soft, flashed behind my eyes. I froze.

A sweet, delicate smile, skin pale as snow, sprinkled with faint freckles across her nose. Expressive green eyes, honest and sincere. Firm, rosy lips. A raspy laugh.

The scent of lavender filled my nose, washing over me.

My heart raced, seized by the purest... longing. And then, by absolute shame.

A stabbing pain ripped through me, as if my chest had been torn open.

I choked, weakening as I realized who had taken over my mind, a constant reminder of my greatest failure.

Catalina.

No! No! No! Fuck!

I couldn’t do this to her. Not again. It was a betrayal—to her, to what she had meant to me, to her memory.

I released Lunara and staggered back a few steps, drained.

I rubbed my temples, trying to force the image away.

I was despicable. Utterly detestable.

Lunara stared at me with swollen pink lips, her neck bleeding, her breathing ragged, her eyes shining with lust.

I shook my head and stepped farther back, trying to keep as much distance between us as possible.

For the first time in a very long while, I felt confused. I wasn’t supposed to feel this way. I wasn’t supposed to be shaken by her—or by anyone. By no female. Never again.

“Edric,” she called, confused, a crease forming on her forehead.

I shook my head, denying, and held out my arm as if the gesture alone could keep her away. I needed to keep her away.

I couldn’t meet her blue eyes. I couldn’t look at her at all. Because... because she represented everything I hated most: my lack of control.

“If you want to run again and be treated like a prisoner, then do it, and so it will be,” I warned, pushing my hair back with one hand. “But if you want to live in peace and free, behave and stop pissing me off. Just know you will never leave—I will never allow it. Your life belongs to me, since the moment we... mated in the forest.”

Speaking aloud what had happened made it all the more undeniable. I hated what I had done, with every fiber of my being.

I turned my back and started walking away. Away from her, away from what she represented, from what we had done, from my lack of control when it came to her.

With Lunara, I walked on the edge.

With her, everything was extreme, intense, uncontrollable.

After a few miles, I had to stop. I leaned against a tree trunk and took a deep breath. I avoided the moonlight, as if hiding in the dark could shield me from myself—from the regret and shame I felt.

In years, I hadn’t felt like this. A complete, devastated fool.
