223- Marked by the Alpha’s Hunger
POV Elowen Grimwald:
Suddenly, Aldren brushed my hair away from my shoulders, his hand grazing them and leaving a trail of goosebumps wherever it passed.
I was fiercely seized by the feeling that, at that moment, I was the prey and he was the hunter.
“My mark on your skin is a work of art, Elowen.” He used a lustful tone, the kind that could make any pussy wet.
To finish me off for good, he bent down and placed a hot, wet kiss right over the bite. The bastard dragged his nose along the skin of my neck, scenting me until he let out a rough moan of satisfaction.
“What…?”
“Is happening?” he interrupted, finishing what I was about to ask.
“Yes.”
His answer was to pull me against his body, making me feel his erection pressing into the curve of my back. I hated myself the instant my mouth watered.
“I want you, Elowen,” he growled in my ear, leaving me completely trembling.
I should give in. I wanted to give in. But before putting an end to all of this, I couldn’t bear to be treated like trash once again.
And if my plan didn’t work that night? How would I survive another second in that house, feeling so humiliated?
“I thought I was a hellish bitch whose heat stinks.”
Aldren let out an exasperated sigh, but his rough hand also slid over my abdomen, over the fabric, down between my thighs before lifting my chin, forcing me to look at him.
“If I really thought that, do you think I’d be here?”
The burn of his gaze made my blood run faster and hotter. I swallowed, thinking of a reply.
“I don’t know.”
“I know you want me too. Don’t waste time denying it.” Damn, he was so convinced. “If I release even a spark of pheromone on you right now, I won’t even need to take these clothes off you, which honestly made you look very hot, because you’ll be the one doing it yourself, desperate for me to fuck you.”
No. I couldn’t give in.
“Aldren. Why do you still want to use me after having fun with others? That’s cruel.” Playing tough wouldn’t work. I needed to soften him to put my plan into action.
His jaw tightened, and the deep green of lust in his eyes mixed with a surge of fury, splashing his irises with gold.
“For the first time, I didn’t sleep with anyone at the lust party, Elowen.”
My lips parted in pure surprise.
“Really? But—”
A wicked smile spread across his mouth, and I braced myself for the attack. Nothing gentle ever came from that smile.
“No bitch in that place is more attractive than my prisoner.”
I bit my lip, failing to hide my satisfaction at discovering that maybe my plan to seduce him wasn’t lost after all.
“You’re just playing with me so you can mistreat me later, right?”
I made myself hard to get, even though I burned to kiss him again.
One last time…
Aldren grabbed my arm and spun me around brutally, leaving me facing him. His hands, as powerful as he was, gripped my thighs and lifted me up to the window.
Perched in that narrow opening, dangerously high for a non-shifter, with his legs between mine, I was numbed by adrenaline.
“Oh, I am going to mistreat you, Elowen, but in a way you’re going to like,” he growled, tugging my lower lip between his teeth and tightening his grip on my waist.
How did one breathe? I forgot.
“Beg, Aldren. Convince me…” I whispered, sultry, making his eyes gleam with challenge. “But without pheromones.”
He knew it would be impossible to resist, and I could easily lose what little control I had left.
“It’s your lucky day, because there are a lot of things I’m willing to do to fuck you today.”
I looked away, embarrassed, but Aldren quickly grabbed my chin and forced me to face him. Every cell in my body screamed for me to just say yes, without a shred of pride.
“You don’t say you’re going to fuck a girl without offering her a drink first.” I cast the bait, hoping he’d bite.
“You’re right,” he agreed. “I still don’t know your preferences.”
Yes, Aldren, there are many things you don’t know…
“I’d give anything for a wine…” The dark liquid wouldn’t betray the drops I intended to pour into his glass.
“I might have a bottle of port that’s been aging for three decades.”
“Wow, that must be delicious.”
“I’d leave you here by the window to go get it, but you’re clumsy enough to fall.”
My lips parted.
“You want to take me to bed while calling me clumsy?”
Aldren laughed and grabbed my ass, pulling me onto his lap and moving us away from the window. I wrapped my legs around his waist and rested my arms on his shoulders.
“Is it a lie?”
“No, but…”
“A clumsy, very hot bitch.”
“Do you think so? I’m so skinny.” I flirted.
“There isn’t a single part of your body that I don’t desire,” the hungry alpha revealed, crazy to feed.
Did I need to say that I was also dying to be the main course?
And it wasn’t even my creature—I felt nothing coming from it. Only me.
Elowen Grimwald wanted to have a scorching night with the alpha,
before driving a silver knife into his heart.
Aldren carefully placed me in his armchair and braced his hands on the armrests, remaining leaned toward me.
“I like the way you’re looking at me today, alpha.”
“And how am I looking at you?”
“Like I’m the last little popsicle in the desert.”
He laughed. And what a delicious laugh. Before straightening his posture, he landed a slap on the side of my ass.
“I’m going to get your wine.” He raised his eyebrows, as if remembering something. “Did you find your jars of sweets?”
What?
I blinked several times, lost.
“I didn’t understand…”
“The sweet cream you told me you liked, the hazelnut one.”
“Wait… You bought it for me?”
“Who else would buy it?” He laughed and shook his head, moving away toward the door. “I’ll be right back.”
There was no reason for Aldren to make that up; the house was his. God. Nerin lied. But why? What did she gain from it? Could it be that, deep down, she hated me?
My heart threatened to grow sad over someone who, as much as I liked her, I had known for very little time. I didn’t even like people that easily.
I brought my hands to my cheeks and patted them, forcing myself to focus on what really mattered at that moment.
Seduce and murder the one who had broken what little I had left, even if for an instant he seemed to be putting the pieces together off the floor.
Aldren didn’t like me; he only wanted sex.
Humans and wolves are the same in certain things; men lie at any cost to get what they want, while hunting males always deceive their prey before finally killing it.
Nerin lied, but she was still right. It was safer for me not to get carried away.
