The Goddess Has a Name

The Goddess Has a Name
Lyra's body felt like it was on fire. Something powerful was inside her, burning through her thoughts. She could barely breathe as her mind spun out of control. But one thing came through clearly: a name.

Selhara.

The name whispered inside her head, getting louder and louder. It was ancient - older than anything in the world. It shook her whole body and reached deep into her soul.

"Selhara," Lyra whispered. The name felt strange on her tongue, but also familiar, like she'd always known it.

Then a terrible truth hit her. Selhara wasn't a good goddess of light and healing like she'd thought. This goddess was dark and dangerous - much worse than Lyra had ever imagined.

"Lyra! Fight it! You have to fight it!" Kael's voice cut through the chaos in her mind. He sounded scared and desperate.

But how could she fight something so powerful? It felt like a huge wave crashing over her, drowning her completely.

Lyra's body shook in the dim room. Her skin glowed faintly with strange moonlight. Her eyes, normally pale blue, began flickering with silver as the goddess's power flowed through her.

Kael appeared in front of her, but she could barely see him clearly. His face kept blurring as the power inside her twisted everything.

"Lyra, listen to me," Kael said, his voice cracking. "You're stronger than this. You've always been strong. I know who you are."

But Lyra wasn't sure anymore. Was she still Lyra? Or was she just a container for something much more powerful and terrifying?

The name Selhara kept echoing in her mind, getting louder every second.

Then a voice spoke to her - not in her ears, but deep inside her soul.

"Lyra," the voice whispered, "You are more than you know. You were always meant to be mine."

Lyra stumbled backward, breathing hard, as Selhara's voice filled her thoughts. The voice wasn't kind or gentle. It was commanding, powerful, and cold.

"I don't want to return to the world as it is," Selhara continued, her voice getting stronger. "I want to rebuild it. I want to create a new world where I am the center. Where everything serves me."

The coldness in the goddess's words made Lyra feel sick. This wasn't about saving the world. It was about changing it into something dark that would only exist to worship her.

Lyra clenched her fists, and the world around her seemed to shift. She was trapped between two realities: the world she used to know, and this new, terrifying one that Selhara wanted to create.

She shook her head hard, trying to block out the goddess's voice. "No," she whispered roughly. "I won't let you."

But Selhara just laughed - a low, mocking sound that filled Lyra's mind and made her skin crawl.

"You don't have a choice, child. You never did. You belong to me, as I belong to you. Together, we will change this world."

Lyra's vision blurred as the goddess's presence inside her grew stronger. The silver light in her eyes flickered brighter, and she wasn't sure she could stay herself much longer.

Kael's voice broke through again, raw with desperation. "Lyra! Please - you're stronger than this. You can fight her. You have to. You are not her."

"I..." Lyra gasped, struggling to speak. "I don't want this. I don't want to destroy everything."

Selhara's voice became soft and tempting. "You cannot stop what must happen. You are the chosen one, meant to carry my power. You will shape the future and bring a new age. An age where you and I rule together."

Kael stepped closer, reaching for her desperately. "Lyra," he whispered, his voice breaking. "You're not alone. We can fight this together. I love you."

The words should have comforted her. But they felt far away, like they came from someone else's life. She wanted to believe him and hold onto his love, but Selhara's power was too strong, too overwhelming.

She stumbled back, gasping for breath, her hands shaking. "I don't know who I am anymore."

"You're Lyra," Kael said, reaching for her with gentle but firm hands. "You're the woman I love. Don't let her take that from you. You are not Selhara."

But it was hard to believe him. It was hard to remember who she used to be when the goddess was so close, so powerful inside her.

"You are mine," Selhara whispered again. "You will lead. You will remake this world for me. There is no escape, Lyra. You are my chosen one."

Lyra's heart pounded as the truth sank in. She had always known something greater was inside her, but now she understood what it really was. It wasn't a gift or a blessing. It was a curse - a terrible force that would destroy everything she cared about.

"I won't let you control me," she said fiercely, even as tears threatened to fall. "I won't let you hurt him."

Kael held her tighter, and for a moment, Lyra felt like she might collapse into his arms, into safety. But there was no safety anymore. Not for her. Not for anyone.

Selhara's voice rang out louder than ever: "You cannot escape me, child. You were always meant to be mine. The world will burn, and you will stand beside me as I rebuild it. You will carry my power into the future."

Lyra closed her eyes, struggling to hold onto herself, to remember who she was before all this. But with every second, the world she had known slipped further away.

Lyra gasped, her hands shaking as she reached for Kael. But it was too late.

The goddess was waking up. And nothing could stop her.
