Chapter 60. Too Early To Fail

Chapter 60. Too Early To Fail
Riley blinked a few times, hoping it was all just part of her nightmare. Maybe she was still asleep somewhere far away. Maybe it was just her hallucination because she was thinking too much about Logan.

"I guess I surprised you, eh?"

Logan stepped out of the toilet stall. His footsteps were so calm and steady. He took a step towards Riley, who moved back away from him. Riley's face was pale, as if she was seeing the scariest ghost.

"I missed you too, Riley. Why did you leave me, hmm?”

Logan tried to grab Riley's waist, but Riley slapped his hand away and put some distance between them.

“W-what are you doing here? Go away from me."

"I will pick you up. What's wrong, Riley? Have you forgotten that we still have an agreement?”

Riley’s back hit the wall behind her. It all felt like déjà vu. Last night she had dreamed of Logan in the exact same position. She was cornered against the wall. Riley shivered, remembering what she saw in her dream. Although not exactly the same, most of what Logan did was similar to what she saw in her dream.

“Forget the deal. I don’t want to be a vessel for your children. Leave me alone, Logan. Let me live freely with my own choices.”

“Too bad, you’re out of choices, Riley. You have to come back to me.”

Logan touched the surface of Riley’s cheek with the tip of his index finger. Her skin felt cool and soft.

Very beautiful and charming, thought Logan.

Her index finger moved along Riley’s jawline, down the curve of her chin, then her neck, and stopped at her chest, above the row of buttons on Riley’s oversized shirt.

“You’re even prettier when you’re pretending to be a flight attendant. That uniform makes you fucking hot.”

“How long have you been following me, Logan? Are you spying on me?”

Logan smirked. “Since you were at the New York airport. You didn't notice my presence. Tsk, you were so focused on being a flight attendant that you didn't notice the possible threats around you."

Riley's mouth opened, then closed. There was nothing she could say. She was speechless because what Logan said was true. She didn't think about the possibilities that would happen around her because she was too focused on herself.

"Don't overthink it, Riley."

Logan rubbed Riley's wrinkled forehead. He didn't like seeing Riley look so serious in front of him. Riley was supposed to be easygoing around him because he would protect her from the bad guys out there. However, Logan wasn't going to protect Riley from his anger.

"I wonder if Wren told you or not."

"Told me about what?"

Logan smirked. "Wren certainly didn't tell you. I sent him a video of Kaella this morning. If you knew, you probably wouldn't have gotten this far."

Riley's face paled when Logan mentioned Kaella. How could she be so stupid to not think about Kaella at all?

"What did you do to Kaella?" Riley asked warily.

"Here. You need to see it for yourself."

Logan took out his phone and gestured for Riley to come closer. The scent of roses and oranges from Riley's body made Logan feel crazy. He was intoxicated by Riley's scent. He thought he could last all day just to inhale Riley's pleasant scent.

As Riley approached, Logan couldn't help but pull Riley's neck and kiss her lips. The longing for Riley surged in his chest. His lips moved greedily on Riley's lips. His tongue teased the seam of Riley's lips, licking them. Riley moaned in between their kisses. He slipped his tongue into Riley's mouth, caressing every inch of her mouth with the tip of his tongue.

"I know you miss me, Riley," Logan whispered hoarsely against Riley's lips.

Riley lifted her head. She was panting after the kiss. She heard footsteps approaching and panicked.

"No one will interrupt us. My men will make sure of that." "Why are you doing this to me, Logan?" Riley felt disgusted and angry with herself. She wiped roughly the mark of Logan's kiss on her lips. Tears of anger welled up in her eyes. "Why do you insist on making me the mother of your child? You can get it from another woman who is willing to carry your baby. Let me go. Let me have my own life." Logan grabbed Riley's hips roughly, slamming her into his.

"They didn't drive me this crazy and this hard. I just want your body, Riley. I changed my mind about making you the mother of my child. I want you in my bed.”

“Damn bastard. Let me go!"

Riley struggled to get out of Logan's grip. She tried to pry his arms off her hips, but his body was as hard as a tree trunk. Logan dragged her out of the bathroom. Logan let Riley scream as loud as she wanted because there was no one out there except his men.

"Logan, let me go. Please let me go," Riley struggled, trying to fight Logan as he grabbed her hair.

“Shut up, bitch! We'll get out of here."

"Wren! Help me. Wren!"

“Scream as loud as you want. This place is sterile. There's no one here but us, Riley.”

There was no one there. She didn't know what Logan had done to sterilize the place. Logan played his power well. She couldn't even find Gunberg anywhere.

"Where's everyone? Where's Gunberg?"

“Forget that useless man. He's not going to help you.”

"I'm not surprised. I'm sick of you," Riley looked at Logan with hatred.

Logan dragged her through the back door of the deserted airport. Her hopes of escaping the cruel man were fading. In the distance Riley saw three sedans speeding towards them. Three sedans with the same shape. Riley felt like her life was like in an action movie she often watched. She was kidnapped by a mafia group for the satisfaction of the mafia leader.

"I'd rather you be a good girl, Riley."

Logan grabbed her neck and tried to kiss her, but Riley tilted her head to the side. Logan only managed to kiss her temple.

He snorted.

"You'll see, you won't get away from me."

Ignoring Logan's threat, Riley asked coldly, "What were you going to show me?"

"I'll show you later."

The car stopped right in front of them, Logan's men opened the door for them. Logan pushed Riley's back hard, half forcing her into the car. Before getting in, Riley looked back, to say goodbye to Wren. She really owed her a lot for all the sacrifices he had made. Everything they did was in vain. All their plans failed. They were probably too stupid to think they could defeat Logan's power.

Goodbye, Wren. Forgive me.

"Come in quickly. You're draining my patience."

Riley got into the car. She jerked Logan's hand on her back hard, and a second later Logan hit her back. Hard and painful.

"Don't you dare hit me, bitch."

Riley closed her eyes, holding back the pain she felt. She had decided not to cry. Her tears would be in vain if she cried for Logan. Logan's heart would not be touched by her tears.

The car sped away from the airport's backyard. Riley stared at Harry Reid airport with a heartbreaking pain. She thought about Wren and how he would feel if he knew Logan had caught her.

“I'm sure you'd want to see this video."

Riley turned to look at Logan. Her eyes moved to Logan's cellphone screen, which was showing the cruelest scene she had ever watched.

"What did you do to Kaella?"

"What do you think?"

“Did you hurt her?” Riley’s voice caught in her throat. Tears welled up in her eyes, but she tried not to cry. And it made her chest feel tight.

“That’s the punishment for a traitor.”

"DID YOU KILL HER!” shouted Riley angrily.

He jumped at Logan, grabbed him by the collar tightly and shook him repeatedly in anger.

“You hurt Kaella! You damned demon who should be dead. I will kill you.”

"Keep your eyes on the front,” Logan warned his men, who were just about to pull Riley away from him.

"I can do it myself."

The man returned to his place. He sat stiffly in his chair and just stared ahead, as if nothing had happened in the back seat.

"I haven't killed her. But I will kill her if you run away from me again. I don't play around with my words, Riley," Logan hissed sharply.

He cornered Riley against his car door.

“You damn demon! You're a murderer!" shouted Riley angrily.

She tried to push Logan away, but Logan pressed her tightly against the car door. He strangled her neck and enjoyed every bit of pain Riley felt.

“See, you are powerless against me, Riley. I can break your neck easily. You will die easily by my hands. But I don't want you to die yet. I need you to carry my baby.”

Logan jerked her neck roughly before releasing his grip. Riley's head hit the window, she coughed loudly and vomited on the carpet. All the food she had eaten on the plane came flying out of her mouth.

"You dirty my car," Logan snorted in disgust.

"Whose fault is this?"

Riley gasped. Her entire tongue tasted bitter. She leaned her head against the window, feeling weak and helpless.

“Don't try to fight me. This is what you will get if you fight me.”

Riley didn't answer. She just stayed silent and stared out the window. Her gaze was blank. Tears had frozen in her eyes. She managed to hold back her tears, even though her heart was bleeding and screaming bitterly. She never thought that all her efforts would end in vain. It was even too early to fail.
