Chapter 174. I Love You Both
Chapter 174. I Love You Both
Tonight was really fun for Logan because he was in the midst of a harmonious complete family. He had a father-in-law who was so kind to him, a lover or future wife or maybe his wife and adorable son. They had dinner together happily at the dining table. There was loud laughter from his father-in-law and spoiled whimpers from Archer if Riley started forbidding him to do this and that. Everything seemed so good to Logan that he was reluctant to return to his miserable life in New York. If he could, he wanted to be in the midst of this family forever. And in order to make his wish come true, he needed to improve the conditions between himself and Riley. He needed to make it clear to Riley that he wanted a complete family and didn't want to live apart like he used to.
“Archer is asleep?”
Logan deliberately waited for Riley in front of her bedroom. Tonight he was supposed to sleep in Kaella's room, but he hadn't been in Kaella’s room since then and had just stood by the balcony waiting for Riley to come out of her room. For some reason he was sure that Riley would come out and talk to him.
"He just fell asleep. What are you doing here?" Riley raised her eyebrows in confusion. She turned to her right, to her father's room, where the light had gone out.
"Everyone is asleep. Now it's time for us to talk, Riley."
“Yes, it's time to talk. Wait a minute, I'll cover Archer with a blanket."
Riley turned into her room, and Logan was still standing in front of her room with his heart beating fast. At times like this, he expected Landon to show up. The things that made him afraid were always handled by Landon. Logan thought Landon was damn annoying for leaving him alone to deal with that situation. If Landon had been there with him, he was sure the damn man would have mocked his cowardice.
"You're still standing here? I thought you'd be waiting for me on the balcony."
"And take the risk that you'll run away?"
"Why do you think so?" Riley frowned in annoyance.
"I'm sorry, Riley. I feel like our relationship has been really messed up lately. I'm trying to understand your feelings of grieving because you lost Landon. But I can't wait any longer. We have to talk about our future.”
"We'd better get away from my room."
Riley walked ahead of him, her expression cold. Logan followed behind her with his fists clenched in his trouser pockets. He couldn't spoil the atmosphere between them with anger or anything bad that would mess things up.
“Well, you can say whatever you want now. Here." Riley folded her arms in front of her chest and glared at Logan.
"I've said everything."
"No. You haven't said everything. You have something about Landon that's been bothering you since that day. You're scared, you're losing his figure, and you're not confident in yourself. Am I right?"
Logan didn't say anything. Just stared straight at Riley's angry face.
"You think I'm avoiding you? You're wrong, Logan. You're the one who stays away from me. You closed yourself off, became a coward. After that morning, you realized that Landon had disappeared from your life. Maybe he's not completely gone, but he's melted into one with you. Do you realize that that morning you greeted me coldly? I tried to hug you, but you inched backwards. You lock yourself in your office all day. Never talk to me, and you look so devastated, like you've just been abandoned by your soulmate."
Logan frowned, not expecting that he was that bad in Riley's eyes. He never thought that his actions were something that Riley would consider to be a closed act.
"Say something, Logan. If you want our future to be clear, you should take a bold step. You can't rely on Landon all the time. He is also a part of you. You just weren't confident all this time because you thought you were weak."
"I'm that bad in your eyes?"
Riley groaned in annoyance. That was the reason why she chose to stay away and give Logan space to think. It didn't seem like Logan was in a good state to talk to her after that day.
“Sometimes I think that I like Landon because he has initiative and acts impulsively based on instinct to do things. You're too passive, Logan. From now on you must learn to rely on yourself and not rely on Landon to help you."
"I'm a coward."
"That's not what I expected of you," shouted Riley angrily.
“I want to see you who are full of courage, not you who are weak like this.” Riley poked Logan's chest with her index finger. Her breath hitched, emotions swirling around her body until she could barely breathe.
“I… I want to live with you, Logan. We make a sweet and harmonious family. With Archer and…”
Riley couldn't continue her words. She reached into her pajama pocket and pulled out a white object which she handed Logan.
"What's this?"
Logan took it from Riley's hand. His brows furrowed as he looked at the white object for a few seconds that felt like an eternity to Riley. She looked like a pathetic woman because she begged for Logan's love. She had shown an implied message for Logan to legalize their relationship with a proper marriage as soon as possible.
"You're pregnant?"
“Whether it's your son or Landon’s, it makes no difference to me. Now what do you think? Do you want to fight for us or keep us like this?”
Logan gripped the test pack tightly in his hand. Speechless. Not a single word left his lips, even though he really wanted to say a lot of things to Riley. But his lips wouldn't move to speak. His tongue was numb. Finally, he chose the most primitive way to express his feelings to Riley. He pulled Riley's waist closer and pulled Riley into his arms before he landed his lips on Riley's. He kissed her very hard and intensely. His lips moved savagely over Riley's, kissing her with such intense frustration.
Riley gasped for a sudden kiss from Logan. At first, she was just silent as Logan sucked her lips hard, trying to tempt her into opening her mouth for him. But she couldn't hold on to her anger any longer. She gave up looking fierce in front of Logan. In fact, she also really wanted Logan and missed him.
"I love you. I'm sorry for being a coward all this time. I thought you liked Landon more and hated me for causing Landon to disappear. I'm thinking of giving in to Landon, letting him take over my body, and I'll be his shadow."
“Tsk, you really are an idiot for thinking so shallowly like that. You and Landon are no different to me. You're probably just too passive. You're full of doubts. You don't believe in yourself." Riley's breath blew hard in Logan's face because of all her anger. She was both relieved and annoyed that Logan really had to be pushed so hard before he could show all the things he had been feeling.
“I was prejudiced too much.”
"Well, that's you. So, are you going to marry me or not?”
Logan stifled a laugh at the look of despair on Riley's face. Absolutely adorable.
"You want a wedding like Kaella's?"
“Do I really have to explain it in detail? You annoying bastard for making me have to lower my pride like this."
Riley pushed Logan's chest hard and backed away. But Logan held her wrist, and gripped it tightly before he knelt before her with a sinister grin on his face.
"Marry me, Riley."
"You...."
“Marry this fool once more,” he smirked, and Riley rolled her eyes in shock, hardly believing what she was seeing in front of her.
"Landon. You're back?"
“The stupid Logan bothers me every day. Begging me to come back because he really sucks at this. So what's your answer? Now he's waiting nervously in there."
Riley's eyes filled with tears. She couldn't say anything else but nodded her head and pulled Landon's hand to his feet, then hugged him very tightly.
"I love you both. Please don't ever leave me. I need both of you."
“We need you too, Riley. And since Logan forced me to come back, I guess I didn't want to just be a shadow for him. I want to be a father to my children.” Landon put his palm on the surface of Riley's stomach.
“Will you accept us, Riley? To be your husband and the father of your children.”
"Logan? Gosh, why do you guys come and go as you please like this,” Riley snorted in annoyance, but she wrapped her arms around Logan's shoulders.
"We will make arrangements later. Three days for me, three days for Landon, and one day we will decide by lot.”
“This is really crazy. I will have two husbands in one body.”
Logan kissed the corner of Riley's lips gently and grimaced. "Let's get married. Once again. Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow? Seriously. I haven't prepared anything yet."
"You don't need to prepare anything. Everything has been prepared. You just have to come with a beautiful white gown and a flower crown around your head. Tomorrow we will get married."
"What about Kaella's wedding?"
"We're getting married together with her tomorrow morning," Logan blinked his eyes coquettishly.
"And Landon just whispered in my ear."
"What?"
“He said the first night tomorrow should be his. He can't wait to touch you."
Riley's cheeks blushed even more. She buried her face in the crook of Logan's neck and hugged him tightly. She didn't know how she would behave tonight, but what was clear was that she felt loved and very blessed to have two men who meant a lot in her life.
"I love you both, equally.”
“We love you too, Riley. Thank you for loving these assholes.”
Riley smiled a little in Logan's arms. She didn't want to say anything and just wanted to be in Logan's arms all night. Forever.
