Chapter 41

It's been months, the little conflict happened in their pack. Her father wanted her to be the luna. But the elders didn't agree with it, they thought Rebecca is too young and inexperienced to handle the pack. AND Rebecca didn't want to be the luna just because her father was the previous Alpha. Her father (Jacob) has belive in Rebecca and that she is the new hope for the pack. But it was of no use, the decision was made that she can not be the luna. So, her father left the pack taking his family away from it.

Rebecca is now living in the Sunshine Bay Pack. It is a little pack far away from The Royal Moon Pack. The Alpha of this pack is Zach. His father is the best friend of Rebecca's father and his partner in this territory. So, they can live here...

Rebecca never wanted the title of Luna. Their pack is hopeless, no one can change it. But she misses home. She asked her father if they can go back. But he denied her wish. Rebecca wants to go and see her friends, Julie and Simon. She misses them so much! AND her curiosity of her to go and see the new Alpha. But her father was strictly forbidden to go back to the pack.

Here she has Zach. He helps her train and they go out to see around. But it's not the same as her pack. She knows Zach feels something about her, but she considers him her friend. She doesn't have any feelings for him.

She lost count of the time that passed lying in this bed. Her eyes stared at the ceiling fixed on a point. But one thing is bothering her, her father said she lost consciousness in the meeting and she didn't remember what happened to her? When she opened her eyes. Rebecca was in here with her parents.

Everything seems fine. Rebecca is thinking about it for so long, but nothing just comes to mind. But a feeling of emptiness and a hole in her memory that is not just filling up. It feels as if something important is lost. As she is something or someone but it is not clear.

Rebecca is not feeling very well lately, and she doesn't know the reason for it. Sometimes she feels as if everyone is hiding something from her, but she can't think of any reason behind it.

"Rebecca, come on, come down already, Zach is waiting for you." She heard her mother's voice. She doesn't feel like going on training or eating something. But she can not lay in bed all day.

So she got up.

"Mom, I will be down in five minutes..." She shouted back and ran into the bathroom. Rebecca did her morning chores. She took a quick shower changing into a white crop top and jeans. She put on her sneakers and tied her hair into a bun giving her a look in the mirror. She shrugged her shoulders and got out of her room.

"Good Morning, People!" She said coming downstairs. She came toward her father and dragged a chair, she sat on it.

"Good Morning, sweetheart!" Her father greeted.

"Rebecca, what do you want for breakfast?" Her mother asked from the kitchen.

"Morning, Rebecca, please hurry, we will be late for the race," Zach said in a hurry. She smiled and then nodded her head.

"Mom, I will have some cereal and fruits, please. thank you!" She said.

"What is this race about?" Jacob asked.

"Uncle, all of us are racing to the end of the pack borders. We want to see who is the fastest among us!" Zach said in excitement.

"Is my daughter participating in it?" He asked. Rebecca smirked.

"Yes, dad, I am in it." She nodded her head.

"Haha. then she is the winner of it." Her father laughed.

"Uncle, she is not that fast. She is not so good in combat. She is slow in the counterattack." Zach informed Jacob.

"Haha, but her feet are fast when it comes to runs. She even defeated me once." Jacob has all the confidence in her daughter.

"I will be happy if one of us will win," Zach said. After that, her mother brought the breakfast for her, and they both eat up and then left the house. Rebecca and Zach went towards the training grounds, the race is going to happen there, and they can see the crowd gathered there.

"Haha, everyone is so excited." Rebecca is also excited.

"Okay, let's hurry." Zach grabbed her hand and they ran towards the grounds. They reached the race course. There is a total of twenty-two participants in the race.

"Are you all ready?" They heard the voice of the announcer. They all lined up.

"Yes, we are ready, let's start!" The cheering from the crowd.

"Okay, no dirty play, don't get out of the borders or you will be disqualified. Now let's go in...3...2...1," AND all of them shoot like bullets.

Rebecca and Zach were first running together, but they parted away. They remember the pack terrain like the back of their hands. Rebecca dodged trees, bushes and sharp rocks. It was just too easy for him. No one has caught up to her, a smile came upon her face.

"Yes..." She screeched. After running for twenty minutes, she was able to see the borders. She is close, there is a cliff, she has to hump over it then turn around and come back. There was no one close to her, but now she is sensing a presence following close.

"I have to speed up." She shouted to herself then jumped over the cliff. Another person also jumped over it. She was going to turn around to go back when the same person pushed her down the cliff. Rebecca closed her eyes for feeling the excruciating amount of pain from falling.

"Damn, those cheating bastards. Not playing fair." She cursed. But before she can fall to the ground and injure herself. Two strong arms grabbed her from her waist and saved Rebecca. She opened her eyes to see a man in the black hoodie, his face is covered in a mask and his focus was on someone...

"Are you okay?" He asked without looking at her face.

"Yes, I am fine!" She said. He let her stand on her feet.

"Be careful," He said and before Rebecca can ask his name or say thank you to him. He crossed the border in the blink of an eye, he was gone.
