Chapter 44 Chapter 44

Chapter 44 Chapter 44
Charlotte POV
After checking the chests, we went back to the house. Eleanor was in the kitchen cooking up a storm. She was getting things ready for us to go on our voyage. I had no idea how long it would take us to complete our voyage, but I knew that it would take us a while. We were sailing near the Port of Seaside. It was going to be dangerous and would take us a little bit. I hoped this time that things would go smoothly and nothing crazy would happen. I wanted to go on this voyage. I wanted to sail and actually enjoy it. I assumed it would take us a month to get there. I had no idea how long it took us to sail to this island. Considering I was not prepared to sail, and I spent most of my time in the hull.
I spent most of the time in the hull because at that time I didn't want to be seen. Now I looked different. I have tattoos, and I had a tan. Also, I was not wearing any fancy dresses. I was going to be wearing a pirate dress. Because that was all I owned now. I was a different person now. After practicing some magic and learning how to lift rocks, we went up to the house to get lunch. While I helped Eleanor make lunch, Marcus had left to go where I had no idea. I knew that he needed to get some things done. I helped Eleanor make a fruit salad and get some dried meat out. We were going to have dried fish and salad. Fruit was plenty here.
I could walk out of the house and pick mangos and other types of fruit. Especially bananas. They were everywhere. I was sitting at the table eating lunch when Marcus walked in. He looked happy. He sat down and ate. After he finished eating, we went to the clearing again. This time he was going to teach me how to fight. Why I would need to know how to fight was beyond me. He first showed me some punches. He said that he had gone to China, and they showed him some kicks and things like that. He told me to stand a little sideways and ball up my fist. He said when I threw a punch, to rotate my hip, which would make my punch more powerful. The first few times I could not get it. Finally, I landed a punch to his stomach. He let out a grunt. He then doubled over and fell to the ground. I thought that I seriously hurt him.
He was lying on the ground with his eyes closed. I dropped to my knees next to him, and he leaned up and kissed me hard on the lips.
" I got you."
"Don't ever do that again."
We then rolled around on the ground wrestling. We were having fun. I pinned him to the ground and got on top of him.
" Girl, get off me, or you're going to regret it."
I knew he was playing.
" No."
He then rolled over and was on top of me. This time he had me pinned. He was kissing me with quick little pecks on the lips, then he was kissing me hard and passionately. I was enjoying it. After lying there enjoying being in each other's arms, we decided to get up. We continued with training for a while longer. He taught me some kicks, then we decided it was time to go. We walked home hand-in-hand. We got home, and Eleanor smiled at me. She knew what we were doing. Marcus had to feed the animals. While he fed the animals, Eleanor and I made dinner.
We finished making dinner, and Marcus was still busy doing whatever he was doing. I went out and sat on the porch. It was a nice evening. I knew that we would be leaving on the next day or two. We should have already left and started on the voyage. The monsoon season was going to be here very soon. We needed to get there and get back. It was going to be too dangerous to be at sea here soon. We needed to go. However, I was not going to press the issue. I had no idea if she was alive or not. I have not seen her since I was five years old. I replay that night in my head every chance I get. I also try to think about the days that led up to her being taken.
One memory I have of her is that she was in the ocean and the water was all around her, but she was on dry land. She tried to get me to come to her, but I wouldn't. I was afraid that the water would drown me. I also think about her beautiful hair slowing in the breeze of the wind. She had such beautiful hair. I knew that my hair would be as long as hers one day. It was that long now, maybe longer. But I wanted my mother. I haven't seen her in a very long time.
I had no idea what happened to her after she was taken. As I have said before, I thought that I had seen her digging on the side of the road. But I could not get close enough to see if it was really her. I was so lost in my thoughts that I did not hear Marcus come up behind me. He wrapped his arms around me. The only reason I knew it was him was that Eleanor smiled. I know that if it had been anyone else, she would have been throwing a fit. Especially since I belong to Marcus now. I had no problem with that. I knew it was for the rest of my life. Which I was fine with.
He belonged to me too. He had my name tattooed on him. I looked down at the tattoo that the sea goddess gave me; I still had a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I was the next sea goddess.
" Would you like to go for a swim?"
" Sure."
We swam a lot here. It did not bother me. I enjoyed swimming. When we got to the beach, as I was walking into the water, the water started to part. I was touching dry land. I don't know if it did that of its own accord or if I made it happen. I shut my eyes and pictured myself swimming in the water, and the water was around my knees. I looked at Marcus. His mouth was open in shock.
