Chapter 33 Chapter 33

Chapter 33 Chapter 33
Charlottes POV
I was standing next to Marcus' mother. She noticed me. However, when Marcus looked over, he did not notice the weird-looking shadow standing next to her. They were struggling to connect with the wall in the middle. I watched what she was doing, and I started to do the same. The wall was connected. I then started to go back to my body. I heard the conversation between Marcus and Gertrude. He did not believe that I was there with them. He was struggling to believe that someone could be there. I got back to my body but was struggling to snap out of the trance that I was in. I could see through my eyes that Marcus had come to the cellar, and he was trying to snap me back.
I saw the reflection in my eyes; they were pitch black. After a minute or two, I was back in my body and back to normal. I felt like I had swum a thousand miles in the ocean. Marcus had me put the fire out and then carried me to the house. I tried to stand on my own, but my legs felt like jello. He carried me back to the house and put me to bed. I was asleep almost instantly. I started dreaming. I was at the bottom of the ocean, and I was on dry land.
The waves had created a wall all around me. They were in a circle. Then a beautiful woman emerged from the water. She was wearing a black dress surrounded by fish and seaweed. She entered the circle with me.
" My child, don't be afraid."
" Who are you?"
" I'm the goddess Calypso."
She is the goddess of the sea. She went on to explain to me that she was my great-great-great-grandmother. My mother was one of her grandchildren. She had two others who had been killed by being burned at the stake. My mother was alive, but she couldn't locate her. I wanted to find her. I will talk to Marcus when I see him later. She also explained to me that I had great power and needed to learn to use and control it. I agreed with her. She then explained to me that I am a witch and that Marcus is my warlock. She said it was kind of like werewolves finding their mates. I had heard stories about werewolves, but I didn't believe them.
No wonder I felt so close to him. I was glad that we were a pair. That would also explain why I wanted to marry him so badly. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him, even if that meant that I would be labeled a pirate. She then disappeared. I woke up, and the sun was setting. I know that I had slept most of the afternoon. I needed to talk to Gertrude. I got out of bed slowly. When I stood up, I was still dizzy. I went downstairs, got a drink of water, and then got myself something to eat. I sat at the table and ate some dry meat and fruit. I finished what I had and then went to find everyone. I walked outside, and nobody was there. I was halfway down the trail when Jack jumped in front of me.
" There you are, lass."
" What do you want, Jack?"
" I want you."
He threw me down on the ground and tried to rip my dress off. I was in the middle of fighting him when Marcus appeared out of nowhere. He ripped him off me.
" What the hell are you doing?"
" Getting my piece of the pie."
" I'm no one's pie to be shared."
Marcus punched him in the mouth. He then grabbed my hand and dragged me to his mother's house. He kicked open the door.
" Mother, marry us."
I looked at him. Is he serious? Can she really marry us? I thought that we had to have a preacher and everything like that.
" Marcus, that is up to her."
" Charlotte, do you want to marry him?"
" Can you really marry us?"
" Yes, Charlotte, I can."
" I am a captain of a ship, which means that I can marry you."
I had no idea that the captains of a ship could do that.
"Let's do it."
She performed a marriage ceremony, and then we kissed. She pulled out a piece of paper that had a marriage certificate on it. She signed it, and then we signed it. We are now officially married. But that was not the reason I was here. I had questions about my powers.
" Marcus, I will catch up to you later."
" What about our honeymoon?"
" I need to talk to your mother."
" Fine, I'll stay here."
" Fine."
I asked her questions about my powers. She told me that I was powerful, that she would help me learn to use and control my powers. She also explained that I can do astro projection, just like my mother. If my mother is, then why has she? If she had, how come I would never have seen her or felt her? I was so confused. I wanted to find my mother.
" Is there any way we can find her?"
" Yes, she is being held on the island of nonmagic."
" What is the island of nonmagic?"
She explained it is a place where magic can't be used. It was guarded by a certain spell that took all the magic away. It was cast by Marcus' father. He was dead now, so many of his spells were hard to reverse. He had made that island for witches who had turned bad. He would put them there. However, the English found out about it and took it over. They kept the witches there. They killed several of them. But now they were holding them there, trying to harvest their powers. But they would take them out to sea far enough to use their magic, and if they did not do what they wanted, then they would kill them.
Was that what they were doing to my mother? She is the granddaughter of Calypso, just like me.
" When do we sail to rescue her."
