The Angel's Mistake
Angel Fenris's Pov
I should have killed that witch before she had the chance to use the darkstone. Problem is I wanted to have fun killing her slowly and using different unbearable ways. I wanted her to die screaming apologies to Keira.
"Where is my Father and Ezra?" our mate asks with a concerned expression despite the pain she must be feeling. The truth would infuriate her. We made terrible mistakes while under that witch's spell. Telling her where her father and friends are when we have hurt her so much would make her hate us. I made her mind hurt excruciatingly whilst thinking that she is the witch. I cannot give her more bad news.
Conrad stares at us curiously. Of course he doesn't understand why we cannot talk about our mate's father right now.
"You're losing blood. Let me remove the blade out of your hand so we can take you to the doctor," I say to our mate, avoiding answering the question about her father and friends. Garren holds her tighter as I pull the sharp blade out of the injured flesh of her hand as gently as I can.
She gasps in pain before her eyes close. She withstood the pain longer than any human or werewolf would have. I hope her father and her friends are alive because otherwise our mistakes would be unforgivable. "Let's hurry her to the doctor before she bleeds out!" Garren picks her up and rushes off.
Her friends are finally waking after they fainted because of the pain I cast upon them.
I follow Garren to the palace doctor while Conrad is left attending to the werewolves that were willing to die for him and our mate. I feel jealous of their strong sense of loyalty. Our mate has a way of making people act that way. The exact reason we never questioned that witch's actions even when she behaved in a manner that Keira wouldn't.
"Why did the poor thing come back?" our palace doctor asks as Garren lays Keira down on the bed.
Everyone must be thinking that we do not deserve her. They saw us with that witch and thought we had lost our minds. They didn't have a spell on them which makes it hard for them to understand. Good thing we do not need their approval to stay with Keira.
"How fast can you make her well?" Garren inquires from the doctor.
"For a human that has been through so much it is definitely going to take a while, your majesty. She will recover faster if she does not get stressed further than this," the doctor answers, hardly able to mask the anger in his voice and face.
Who would have thought that he cared so much about our queen? Of course every member of our kingdom must be disappointed in us right now. Keira's wisdom, bravely and kindness impressed even the old. I too know she did not deserve this pain. But I cannot undo mistakes of the past. What I do not want though is an angry doctor treating her poorly just to punish us.
"Your anger at us is completely understandable. But as your king I expect my queen to have the best treatment and be awake in a few minutes. Otherwise your incompetence will be treated as treason," I state.
His quickly nods and hurries to stop the bleeding from her deeply wounded hand. We could choose to heal her ourselves. I wouldn't mind taking all the pain as punishment for the suffering we have caused her. But that power only works when it's all the three of us doing it. And I am afraid that Conrad endured too much pain as well that we cannot be sure he will be fine if more is added. We do not get to choose who takes more of the pain or wounds.
Conrad walks in after a while and goes directly to check on our mate. Hopefully she will be asleep for a while because her mind needs the rest after the pain I made her withstand. I also hope it did not do a permanent damage.
I lean down and peck her forehead.
"Where did you take her father and old friends?" Conrad finally asks.
We cannot keep the terrible news a secret forever.
