Chapter 67 The Planning

Chapter 67 The Planning

‎Aria has figured out a way to be dishonest to Lucian without saying anything. She can tell lies. It does not have to be with words.
‎
‎She figured this out as times goes on. Lucian was sleeping next to her. He was breathing slowly and evenly. His arm was wrapped tightly around her waist. It was as if Lucian thought he could protect her from everything by wanting to. She also learned how to lie when she would smiled at Lucian in the morning. She would run her fingers through his hair. She would kiss his cheek. Then she would tell him that she was just really tired.
‎
‎She learned how to lie when she would have the thought of vengeance deep inside her mind but she would not let it show on her eyes. The weight of vengeance was something she felt deeply. The weight of vengeance was a big deal for her.
‎
‎Lucian thought that she was getting better. Lucian felt that the healing process was working for her. He was certain that she might not have revenge on Kael anymore and that made Lucian feel happy for her.
‎
‎Because he doesn't want her and their unborn baby to get hurt in anyway.
‎
‎Lucian thought that the tough times were over for the people he cared about. He felt that the worst part was behind the people he was with.
‎
‎Aria let him believe what he wanted. Aria gave him the freedom to make his choices.
‎
‎The truth was darker.
‎
‎The truth was that every night, when the moon got really high and the kingdom got very quiet, Aria would climb down from their bed and went back to the shadows. These shadows only listened to Aria. When Lucian went to sleep, the special connection between Aria and Lucian went to sleep as well but Arias blood never did. It was always awake like it was waiting for something to happen. Aria and her blood they were always ready, when Lucian and the rest of the kingdom were not.
‎
‎It remembered what had happened before. The memory of it was still very clear in her mind. It remembered.
‎
‎Kael's betrayal had really gotten under her skin. It was the humiliation that stuck with her. The way Kael manipulated her was terrible. Kael had even smiled when he ruined everything that Aria thought was important. Aria was pregnant now. She was not strong because of some old powers that wanted her baby. But still, Aria felt no pity for Kael and his entire pack that watched him betrayed and humiliate her but still have done nothing.
‎
‎This really made her want to do what she was doing more. It sharpened her resolve. Made her feel like she was doing the right thing with her life and the things she was trying to accomplish with her resolve.
‎
‎She was by herself in the lower part of the old mansion where the walls that are made of stone kept secrets to themselves and the air had a faint smell of magic that had been around for a long time. There was one candle burning on the table in front of her. The flame was leaning towards her skin in a way that did not seem normal. The old mansion had a lot of secrets and the magic that filled the air was really old. The candle on the table was the light in the room and it made her skin feel warm. The lower chambers of the mansion were very quiet and the only sound was the soft flicker of the candle flame.
‎
‎"You said you would come again." Aria murmured.

‎The shadows moved around.
‎
‎Then a figure stepped out of the shadows. It was not really solid and not completely made of mist either. The figure was something in between, not there and not fully gone. It was a figure made of something that was not quite solid and not quite mist.
‎
‎The man got down on his knees away. He knelt immediately I mean the man did this soon as he could.
‎
‎"My Luna," the man said in a low voice while slightly bowing his head.
‎
‎"Do not call me that. I'm not your Luna." Aria said with her jaw clenched.
‎
‎The man hesitated. But then said, "As you wish."
‎
‎This guy was part of Kael's group. He was the traitor. Maybe he was just trying to stay alive. His name was Rowan. Rowan was once the person Kael trusted the most to come up with plans. Before Kael started doing some bad things on his own people to get what he wanted. Rowan used to be very important to Kael.
‎
‎Aria said that you told her you had information.
‎
‎Rowan lifted his head. He said "I do." Then he added ". It will cost you." Rowan was looking at the person he was talking to. He could see the surprise, in their eyes when he said that it would cost them. Rowan just waited to see what they would say next about the cost.
‎
‎Aria laughed,. It was not a happy laugh. She said "Everything already costs me" and that was the truth everything really did cost her the cost was something that Aria had to deal with and it was clear that the cost of everything was something that weighed heavily on Aria.
‎
‎He swallowed. "Kael is not doing this by himself Kael has got to have some help Kael is definitely working with someone."
‎
‎"I know."

‎Rowan went on to say that he has friends in countries. These men think that power should belong to people who come from families not to people who are good leaders. They think of you as someone who gets in the way. Rowan said this about the people who support him that they do not like you because you are an obstacle, to the power they believe they deserve.
‎
‎Aria said that because she was. She spoke in a calm voice.
‎
‎Rowans eyes went to her stomach for a second then she looked away. "They know about the child."
