Chapter 109 Chapter 0109
•LORENE•

I stopped outside the car and looked at Andrea as he was about to hop inside and drive to Richard’s house.

After my last call with Richard, while I was with Andrea, his IT guys got Richard’s IP address and tracked his location everywhere he went through his phone.

“We can’t go to his house and get him, Andrea. He has a child there, and I don’t think we would want to hurt an innocent child because of Richard. We should wait until morning when he goes to work.”

“Are you doubting my plan, Lorene?” He scoffed as he walked around to my side.

“I’m not doubting your plan. I want us to get Richard without trouble. This could be dangerous now that Richard knows we are looking for him. Don’t you think we should do this another way?”

“Another way?” He furrowed his brow. “If you’re worried about his child, maybe you should stay behind and not be there. I don’t want you to ruin the mission for me. We are getting Richard, and that’s the end of the story.” He walked to the other side of the car to the driver’s seat and hopped inside.

I took a deep breath after confirming that my gun was inside my handbag and got inside.

When we arrived at Richard’s house, Andrea directed his men inside, and I followed behind him, keeping my gun right at my side.

He turned around and scoffed when he saw me crouching behind him.

“I thought you didn’t want to scare his child. If he sees you or you see the boy, you will compromise the mission for us, Lorene, and I can’t allow that. Go back to the car and watch our backs.”

“I made this possible, so you can’t turn me away. I told you I want to be there when you get Richard and make him pay for what he did to me,” I frowned.

“I’m not asking you, Lorene.”

I rolled my eyes and groaned as I turned around and went to the car. When I got in, I took my cell phone and called Richard.

He whispered after he took a moment to answer the call.

“Hello?”

“Andrea and his men are here. You should make a plan to get out of the house.”

“I saw them. Why are you doing this?”

I looked out the window and couldn’t believe that after everything Richard had done I was saving his ass instead of letting Andrea and his men make him pay.

I couldn’t deny that I still loved him. The thought of him dying because of me caused my chest to tighten, so I wanted to do everything I could for him to live.

“Because I don’t want them to kill you, Richard.”

“You still love me?” He scoffed. “If you had been patient with me and done everything I wanted us to do, we wouldn’t be here today.”

“No, Richard, I don’t want them to kill you because I want to kill you myself.” I frowned when he reminded me of the memories I tried hard to forget.

He broke my heart, though I initially thought I would be the one to divorce him once I got all my money, but I realized I had fallen in love with him.

“I’m sorry for what happened, Lori. You and I were happy and had a good thing going on, but we could’ve never worked out. We’ve had this talk before, and I don’t want you to punish me because things wouldn’t have happened differently.”

“Fuck you, Richard.” I hung up the call and smacked my hands on the steering wheel and angrily clutched onto my gun.

I almost lost it and wanted to hurt him, but then I remembered the basement. So, I texted Andrea to check there first.

I waited for what seemed like forever, and when Andrea and his men returned, they had Richard and Susan Wilson with them.

The bloody asshole was sleeping with Natasha’s friend for the money.

I shook my head and couldn’t believe I wanted to save his ass when he would’ve never done the same for me.

“Let go of me! Do you know who I am?!” Susan shouted as they put her in the back of the car. “Let me go!”

Richard frowned when he walked past the car and saw me. Somehow, he knew I had told them where he was hiding.

I smirked as I watched him being put in the back of the car. I leaned back in the seat and sighed as Andrea hopped inside and looked at me.

“We wouldn’t have found him if you hadn’t texted me. What changed? I thought you wanted to save him.”

“Kyle didn’t see you?”

“No one saw us.” He roared the engine to life and followed behind the cars in front.

“I hope those guys have gotten rid of the body at home. My mother had been complaining about the smell.”

“Maverick Eden,” he chuckled as he looked at me. “How did he end up in your mother’s garden?”

“He made me jealous, so I killed him.”

He looked at me and shook his head before he returned his attention to the road.

“Where did they take his body?” I asked.

“They’ve burnt it. No one will know what happened to him or who killed him. I hope you knew he was a fraud who had scammed people of their hard-earned money through his pyramid money schemes.”

“I know.” I looked out the window and breathed.

I didn’t really know that Maverick was a fraud, but I hoped he would share his money instead of fucking my mother in her sitting room.

“Once Richard’s dealt with, Natasha is next.”

“Natasha?” I looked at him. “What did she do to you?”

“She’s the one who caused my brother’s death, so she won’t get away with that, Lori. Come on,” he sighed. “You know the drill.”

“Leave her for me. I’ll kill her myself without a second thought. She ruined my life.”
