Chapter 50
As Andrew pulled up outside the Visiondot showroom on his little electric bike, the staff inside immediately noticed him.
One of them gasped in shock. "Oh no, it’s that guy again! The one who showed up on an electric bike and bought a BMW 760 in cash yesterday!"
Another salesperson clenched his fists, his eyes burning with determination. "Today, I swear I’ll make him buy our top Visiondot A8, even if I have to get on my knees and beg!"
Before anyone could process what was happening, the entire Visiondot sales team rushed out of the showroom like a group of desperate fans chasing a celebrity. They practically formed a human wall around Andrew, eager to get his attention.
"Sir! Please, you must check out our newest Visiondot A8—it's absolutely stunning!" one salesman pleaded, his voice almost desperate.
"Yes, sir! Our A8 is a true beast! It has a W12 engine that makes it far superior to that BMW you bought yesterday!" another added, nodding furiously as if that would help convince him.
Andrew raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Oh? Is that so?"
A particularly eager salesman stepped forward and began speaking so fast it was almost as if he was running a race. "Sir, listen! Our W12 engine is an engineering marvel! It’s divided into two sections, so you can turn one side off whenever you want. That means it’s fuel-efficient, unlike that V12 in the BMW!"
Andrew blinked, then let out a dry chuckle. "So, let me get this straight. You're telling me I should buy a twelve-cylinder car… just to turn off six cylinders and save fuel? Wouldn’t it make more sense to just buy a car with six cylinders in the first place?"
The salesman’s confident expression crumbled. His mouth opened and closed like a fish, but no words came out. He realized, too late, that he had just walked straight into his own trap.
The other Visiondot salespeople all sighed in disappointment, shaking their heads.
Andrew smirked. "Yeah, I thought so. Let me guess—you guys ignored me yesterday when I came in, right? But now that you saw me buy a BMW, you suddenly think I’m an important customer."
The Visiondot team looked at each other, awkwardly scratching their heads.
Andrew shook his head. "Too bad. You missed your chance."
With that, he rang the tiny horn on his electric bike and said, "Move aside, I’m going to the BMW showroom to buy another car."
Before he even finished his sentence, the doors to the BMW showroom burst open. The BMW sales team stormed out, looking like warriors ready for battle.
"You Visiondot guys better back off!" one of them shouted. "Are you seriously trying to steal our customer? Can’t you see he doesn’t even want to talk to you? If you don’t move, we’ll call the media and expose your shady tactics!"
The Visiondot salespeople groaned in frustration. They knew they had lost.
Just then, the BMW showroom manager personally stepped forward, his smile wide and respectful. "Good morning, Mr. Blackwood. Are you here to purchase another car today?"
Andrew nodded. "Do you have a BMW 530 in stock? I’m paying in cash, no delays."
The manager’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Yesterday, Andrew bought a 760, and today, he wanted a 530. He was clearly a dream customer!
"Yes, sir! We have it right here! Please, follow me—I’ll show you the car right away!"
Andrew followed him inside, where a sleek BMW 530 was parked in the showroom. He slid into the driver’s seat, inspecting the interior. It was a comfortable car, though not as luxurious as the 7 Series. But it would be perfect for his arrogant and aging father-in-law.
Just as he was about to take out his card to finalize the purchase, a familiar voice caught his attention.
"Oh, my love, I really want that BMW X6! Won’t you buy it for me?"
Andrew’s head snapped up, and his eyes darkened. He turned toward the voice and saw Selena—Colby’s fiancée. But she wasn’t with Colby. She was wrapped around another man’s arm, practically clinging to him like a lovesick teenager.
Andrew’s expression turned cold. Was she cheating on Colby?
His irritation grew as he watched the man smirk and tease her. "If I buy you the X6 now, how are you going to explain it to Colby?"
Selena rolled her eyes dramatically. "Ugh, don’t even mention that fool. He’s useless! He’s broke, he has no ambition, and honestly, if he weren’t so honest and hardworking, I would’ve left him ages ago."
The man laughed and pinched her cheek. "Then why are you still with him?"
Selena’s voice became soft and sweet. "You know why, baby. I haven’t even let him touch me since I met you. He disgusts me! My body belongs to you and you alone."
Andrew clenched his jaw. This woman was unbelievable.
Selena continued with a smirk, "Honestly, I was planning to dump him right after the restaurant opened, but I didn’t expect that idiot to have a powerful friend who got rid of Uglyduck for us. But don’t worry—once the business is stable, I’ll kick him out and take the restaurant for myself."
The man, Marco, chuckled smugly. "Uglyduck? Ha! If you had told me earlier, I could’ve made a single phone call and had his boss kneeling in front of me, begging for mercy."
Selena’s eyes widened in admiration. "Oh, Marco, you’re incredible! I didn’t call you back then because Colby was there, and I didn’t want you to see me with him."
Marco grinned and pulled her closer. "You’re such a smart girl."
She snuggled up against him like a spoiled kitten. "So… will you buy me the X6 now?"
Marco chuckled. "Not yet, baby. First, we’re going to my place. I need you to make me happy. Then, tomorrow, I’ll get you the car."
Selena squealed in delight. "Really? You promise?"
"Have I ever lied to you?" Marco smirked. "Now, let’s go."
Giggling, Selena clung to his arm as they walked out of the showroom together.
Andrew’s blood boiled. This was disgusting. He despised cheaters, especially when the victim was someone as hardworking and loyal as Colby. Without a second thought, he pulled out his phone and called Colby.
"Andrew?" Colby answered, surprised. "What’s up? Why the sudden call?"
Andrew kept his tone calm. "Nothing much, just checking in. What are you up to?"
"Working at the restaurant, of course! It’s almost lunchtime, so I need to be here."
"Do you go there every day?"
"Of course! The restaurant is still new, and there’s a lot to handle. Plus, most of the investment came from Selena’s dad, so I have to prove myself."
Andrew’s grip on his phone tightened. "How much did you invest in it?"
"Around a hundred grand. That’s all my savings since graduation."
"And whose name is on the business registration?"
"Well… Selena’s father. Since Selena and I aren’t married yet, we thought it’d be best to register it under his name for now. But don’t worry, once we get married, he promised to transfer the ownership to me."
Andrew closed his eyes and exhaled slowly.
This fool had no idea he was being played.
Selena had him running the restaurant like a workhorse while she was busy seducing a rich man behind his back. Worse, Colby had no legal claim to the business. The moment she dumped him, he would walk away with nothing—not even his own savings.
Andrew’s grip on his phone tightened. He had to wake Colby up before it was too late.
With a calm but firm voice, he asked, "Where is Selena right now?"
