Chapter 66 Investigation 1
Evan couldn’t help but grin.
Is that red flush on his face due to embarrassment? Haha. I managed to get the psycho embarrassed!she laughed inwardly. Meanwhile, Isabella slammed her palm over her mouth, making sure she didn’t breathe a single air of laughter. The scenario was so awkward. Zeke, of course, laughed out loud, not caring what Simon was feeling.
The red-headed vampire grit his teeth, planning to make Evan pay.
How could she be so cruel and yet so arrogant,he thought, throwing himself on the sofa. I’ll make her pay! he declared inwardly. If not for Zeke who was here, he would’ve lashed out at her and torn her into little pieces… Zeke signaled the maids to take the girl away and then took a seat nearby, relaxing himself.
Simon wanted to take the situation about the black witches further when he glanced in Isabella’s direction. She was using her palm to cover her lips as she bit on her palm, making sure nothing left her lips. Simon frowned; she was clearly mocking him. He stood up, walking to where she was sitting. For a moment the world seemed to stop. He bent down so she could hear him properly.
“Is there a problem?” he asked. His voice was as calm as water gushing down the mountains.
Isabella summoned the courage to look him in the eyes, and that was a big mistake. Her kidney cut fire. She swallowed hard as she immediately averted her gaze.
This psycho! She intended to curse inwardly, not knowing she said it subconsciously.
“Hmm, impressive!” said Simon, slowly lifting his body away from her.
“Huh?What’s going on?” Evan asked, utterly displeased why the red-headed man would go close to her friend like that.
Could it be he wants to harm her?she predicted.
“Ella, get away from him!” Evan yelled, intending to go and sit with her friend only to be stopped by Zeke.
“So noisy!Be quiet. Let’s solve this situation about the black witches.”
“Ezekiel, why should I? I’m not a council official, right? My only duty is to eat, sleep, and enjoy life. Yours is to work nonstop protecting the nation,” said Evan in one go, then she went for Isabella.
“Simon, what’s wrong with you? You wanna kill her? What about the official matter? Doesn’t it matter? To explain more to Zeke, I want to take Isabella upstairs with me,” she informed with an awkward smile on her lips, hoping both men would understand.
“No way,”as expected, Zeke refused.
“Why?”asked Evan.
“We need her! She’s a witch, so she must know about this potion.”
“I don’t,” Isabella replied. “If we investigate more, maybe I can try to tell what this potion is made of. Besides, I haven’t seen this potion you guys are talking about, and according to you, once inhaled it can cost you your life, meaning it’s truly dangerous,” Isabella tried explaining. Zeke just nodded continuously.
“Makes sense. How about we go find out what the potion really looks like,” Zeke suggested. Evan rolled her eyes, leaving Isabella and sitting in a different seat.
“Are you crazy? You’re tired of living? Don’t you know? That is actually one of the most dangerous things in the entire world,” Simon warned.
“I know. A mere witch won’t kill me,” Zeke replied.
“Yes.I also think we should go tonight and see how it is effective,” Isabella agreed. “Evan? You coming?” asked Isabella, but Evan’s expression didn’t change. She disliked Simon so much for that shiny red hair.
“Maybe,”was the reply she gave to Isabella.
“I have a spell that can help us for a while, so we won’t be able to inhale the smell of the poison.” To Isabella, this was also her work. Her people had only one ruler, thanks to Evan who had been helping her, and together the both of them gave the white witches a comfortable life.
“Since you all want to go to death yourselves, fine. I’ll come too,” Evan declared, shaking her head in regret.
“Of course you need to come. You and this one,” Simon said, pointing to Isabella.
“Show some respect!”Evan snapped.
“She is a queen!”
