Chapter 87 Danger.
Josh’s POV
Weeks passed in a blur, and to my surprise, Camille and I were living a peaceful life together. It doesn't even seem like she was a vampire anymore, safe for the extraordinary powers she displays every now and then, but besides that, Camille was completely normal.
I couldn't help but find the vampire princess cute. She's like a little kitten, always eager to do something and learn something. I have been the one discouraging her for a while now. If not, Camille would have tried to make me breakfast.
I barely make breakfast now because Camille doesn't even eat, and I don't want to be late for work, but it seems like she isn't satisfied with the possibility that I was trying to starve myself.
See? She's that cute.
As I knotted my tie, my nose quickly picked up the unpleasant smell of something burning. I frowned slightly, but when I remembered the last time Camille tried to cook, I raced out of my room to go check on her.
In a flash, I was already in the kitchen. "Camille?” I called out. She was standing close to the stove, but everything looked normal, not as smoky as last time.
She turned and smiled at me. "You're awake, Josh. I made breakfast." She said cheerfully and set the said breakfast on the table.
I tried not to grimace. Burnt toast, scrambled eggs that look overcooked and weird looking coffee. Fuck! Would I be able to eat this?
“You...cooked?” I asked, clearly surprised.
She smiled proudly. "Yes. I made breakfast. I've been watching you do it for weeks now, and I think I've figured it out.”
Well, it doesn't look like she figured it out, but I couldn't say that and hurt her feelings, so I sat down quietly.
“Well… it looks great,” I lied for ing a smile.
Camille's smile widened. "Thank you, Josh. I hope it tastes as good as it looks. All human food tastes horrible to me so I can't have a taste. Please try some Josh."
I nodded and looked at the food again in horror. I gulped and forced myself to have a taste. I tried not to spit it out. The food tasted exactly the way it looked—terrible—but I tried to eat it without complaining. Camille had made the effort, and somehow, that made the breakfast feel special.
"Is it good?" She asked with innocent puppy eyes.
I nodded and gave her a thumbs up. I feared that if I opened my mouth, I might puke.
After I finished eating, I went back to my room to finish up with my dress up for work. As I came out and walked towards the door, Camille followed behind me.
"Please come back soon, Josh,” she said softly.
I smiled at her sweetness. "I will."
I resisted the urge to stand there and stare at her face all day, so I walked to my car and drove on ahead to work. I have never felt the need for work to be over just so I could quickly return home to be with my housemaid. That's how bad I had it for my vampire housemaid.

When I arrived at the company building, the parking lot was quieter than usual. I stepped out of my car and locked it while talking on the phone with a client.
“Yeah, I’ll send the files later today,” I said casually. All of a sudden, a cold breeze passed by me. I immediately stopped walking. Something felt… wrong.
“Hello, are you still there, Josh?” My client’s voice came through the phone.
Before I could respond, a shadow moved in front of me. I looked up—and my heart nearly stopped. A man stood there, but something about him wasn’t normal. His eyes were cold and unnatural, and when he smiled, I saw sharp fangs.
The phone fell from my hand as my body was overcame with shock.
A vampire! It's a fucking vampire!
I didnt get a chance to react because he was suddenly in front of me and he grabbed me by the collar and slammed me against the side of a car.
Pain shot through my back as the air was knocked out of my lungs. "Well,” the vampire said with a cruel smile, "it seems you are the disgusting human who has been having fun with our princess.”
Fear rushed through me as he leaned closer, his fangs glinting in the light. I can't believe they found Camille! They know she's with me. But how? How did they find her?
Fuck! Am I in trouble? Is he really going to kill me?
I braced myself waiting for the strike because I know I'm no match for him, but the stike never came.
A blur of movement crashed into him and the vampire was thrown several feet away.
I looked up in shock to find Camille standing in front of me. Her eyes were glowing red with anger and she looks life a super hero taken right out of a marvel movie.
She was completely beautiful, and I know this is the last thing I should be thinking about in this situation, but I couldn't help myself.
“I know Giron and my father sent you. You shouldn't be a coward and attack the human who has been helping me. Stay away from him,” she growled.
The vampire hissed "I know I'm no match for you princess, but I shall fufill my duty. I will capture that human and take him to our world. Perharps then you would agree to retun and fufil your own duty." With that, he lunged at her.
What happened next happened so fast I could barely follow it. The two of them moved with incredible speed, fighting across the parking lot.
Within seconds, Camille knocked him to the ground. Then she turned to me. "Josh!” she said urgently. “We have to go!”
I didn’t argue.
She grabbed my hand, and we ran to my car. Within moments, we were speeding away from the company building.
My mind was reeling. What the hell is going on?
Am I in danger?!
Fuck. I'm in danger
