Chapter 26 Saved.
Domenic's POV.
I couldn't stop thinking about Kate. The way her eyes shone with tears when I said those cruel words to her. The way she stomped off in anger. Why can't I get her out of my thoughts? She's in my mind, poisoning my heart and I couldn't get her out.
What the hell has she done to me?!
I drowned a glass of blood and sighed at the sweet taste. I need to get Kate out of my system. I fucking need Sarah!
"Your highness, are you okay?" Linus concerned voice drew my attention to him. He was seated on the other side of the couch surrounded by many half-naked vampire ladies. He seems to be having the time of his life.
I nodded waving a dismissive hand at him. "I'm fine!"
He shrugged and returned his attention to the beautiful ladies all around him. He has always been a ladies man.
Maybe that's just what I need to get Kate off my system. Maybe a threesome with really beautiful vampires would stop me from thinking about Kate even for a minute.
I don't want to think about those tears in her eyes anymore or how she drives me crazy with her scent and beautiful face. I hated how I regret the words I said to her, I hated making her cry.
Why?! Just why the fuck do I care what she's feeling?! She's nothing to me!
Yet my mind still continuously wandered to her. Where is she anyway? I can't smell her anywhere in the party. Or maybe she returned back to her room?
Oh whatever! What I need right now is to get laid. I need to fuck someone intensely so Kate would leave my head!
I drowned my last glass of blood and stood up to go look for someone to fuck, but Lysander suddenly appeared right in front of me. He looks panicked.
"Lysander, is there a problem?"
His red eyes were filled with worry. "I can't find Kate your highness. Sarah told me Kate was looking for me because she wanted some alcohol, but I can't find her anywhere and I can't smell her either."
I brushed off his worries, "maybe she's back in her room."
He shook his head, "I checked her room your highness, but she's not there. There's no sign that she even went there from the party."
That got me on alert. Kate is not in her room, and she's no where to be found in the party?
Could it be that someone took her? Could this be Giron's doing?!
My mission to find someone to fuck slipped out of my mind and all that filled my mind was Kate.
She must be in danger. She must be so scared. I swear to the moon goddess I will kill anyone who hurts her!
"Look for her Lysander, and I'll do the same. Tell no one about it." I ordered and Lysander nodded and walked away disappearing into the crowd of guest.
I looked around the party for Kate, but when it was quite obvious that she wasn't in it, I decided to check the corridors and rooms in the palace.
As I walked down a dark lonely corridor, I heard helpless sobs coming from behind a door and as if on cue, Kate's wonderful scent assaulted my nostril.
Without wasting a second, I hurried towards the door and kicked it open. The scene before me blinded my vision. All I saw in that moment was red.
A vampire was on Kate pinning her down. She looked weak and helpless and there was tears flowing down her eyes.
My fangs extended as anger took over every bone in my body. I grabbed the bastard by the back of his neck and flung him off Kate. He flew to the other side of the room and crashed into some old woods.
I wasn't done with him yet!
I appeared right in front of him before he could even get up, and I held him by the neck and lifted him off the ground completely.
He snarled and tried to fight against my hold, but my hold on him was too strong. I was chocking him, and I enjoyed the way his face turned purple and how he struggled to breath through my assault.
"Your highness," he chocked out. "Please spare me. I never intended to do that, I was only tempted."
My eyes were glowing letting me know that my beast was out. Angry and ready to kill.
"You dare to touch what belongs to me. Why the hell should I let you live?!"
His eyes widened in fear and he pleaded desperately. "Please have mercy your highness. I really was tempted."
I smirked at him, cruel and evil. "Explain your sins to the devil in hell!" With that I snapped his neck, and the crack from the impact left me feeling deliciously satisfied. His dead eyes stared back at me and his fangs hanging out.
I let go of his body and it fell unto the ground lifeless.
I wasted no time in returning to Kate who was still lying there unmoving. Fear gripped me. Is she okay?
I knelt before Kate, my eyes wide with worry. She looks weak and disheveled but beautiful nonetheless. Her red dress was wrinkled and the tears in her eyes stabbed my heart repeatedly. I hated them so much. I quickly reached my hand to her face and gently wiped them off. I wish I could bring that guy back and kill him all over again.
"Are you okay Kitty cat?" I asked gently.
Her dazed eyes stared at me. They were still filled with unshed tears. I helped her sit up but wasn't expecting her to wrap her arms around me in a hug. I stayed still, shocked by the gesture.
"I'm so scared Domenic." She cried and my heart twisted. "I thought I was going to die. I'm so fucking scared right now." She hugged me tighter to her like she feared I was going to disappear.
I felt angry, sad, shocked surprised. Mixed emotions that I couldn't wrap my head around. But one thing is for sure, I just really want Kate to stop crying. I fucking hate seeing her so sad.
I should have kept an eye on her myself. I never should have let anyone get even an inch close to her. I should have kept my words and protected her.
I didn't even think about it when I wrapped my arms around her small body and held her to me. "Don't cry anymore Kitty cat. I'm here for you." I assured in a gentle voice as I brushed down her hair to assure her. "I'll protect you Kate. No one is ever going to get close enough to hurt you again. I promise!"
And I fucking mean every word of it.
I carried Kate bridal style and returned her to her room. I made sure to use a different corridor so no one from the party would see her in this state.
Kate looked so weak and she clunged to me like a child. Her head was buried in my neck, and I felt shivers run down my spine everytime her nose brushed against my skin and she sighed. It took every strength in my body to keep walking with her in my arms.
As if to torture me further, her teeth would graze my neck repeatedly and she would bit it gently then licked the skin she bit.
I flattered in my steps, my heart pounding widely in my chest. "What are you doing Kitty?"
She moaned into my ear and I had to stop walking. That sound was heaven personified. As if to toture me further, she whispered right into my ears. "I want you Domenic. I want you so bad." She bit my earlope, and my skin tingled.
I cleared my throat and resumed walking, "you're playing a dangerous game kitty."
"Lets play it together." She whispered again.
I knew she wasn't the one talking. From what I've noticed, that bastard drugged her and she's only saying all this because of the drugs in her system.
I wanted to kill him over and over again!
I manage to survive getting her to her room and placing her gently on the bed. She stared at me with drowsy grey eyes, filled with lust.
I looked away before I would lose control. "I'll get Sarah to clean you up."
Before I could turn to leave, she grabbed my hand and pulled me down unto the edge of the bed. Without wasting a second, she sat up and connected her lips to mine.
The minute our lips touched, the world seem to stop around us. It was like time has stopped flowing and all that remained in the world was me and her.
She moved her lips against mine and my heart danced with a feeling I've never felt before. I have kissed a lot of girls, but I have never felt this way.
Just what is Kate doing to me?
