Chapter 88 Hiding.
"What is going on Camille?! How did they find you?!" I asked in shock as we drove through the city. Thankfully, the creepy vampire guy didn't come after us. God knows that if he does, there's gonna be disaster. He'll definitely be faster than my stupid car.
Camille sighed and ran a hand through her hair looking frustrated. "I seriously have no idea how they found me. But I sensed their precense and decided to go come look for you. My scent is all over you and no doubt they would find you eventually."
"Your scent?" I couldn't help asking. That's so weird.
"Yeah. Since we've been living together, my scent kind of rub off on you. Where ever you go, any vampire can tell that I have been around you because you'll smell like me."
I frowned a little disturbed by the concept. It's a little weird I won't lie.
"So what now? Are we going back to the house?" I asked in worry. If they found her, that means they found my house, and therefore we can't go back there.
"No we can't." And I was right.
Fuck! How did my life become so messed up over night. "So what are we going to do now? Should we stay at a hotel?"
She nodded, "let's do that for today, but the city is no longer safe for us. The vampires would find us any moment."
"Where would we go then?" I asked realising that I'm not even mad about the situation. Something in me wants to be with Camille all the way to make sure she's safe.
"My brother prince Domenic is some where in the human world but in another country. We will go to him as soon as morning comes. I believe we will be safer there."
Wait a minute. First of all she has a brother who aslo stays in the human world? Wow.
"Are you sure it's safe there? What if he tries to hand you over to your people?"
She smirked. "Don't worry. He's also on the run so he won't dare."
Many questions popped up in my head, but I decided to let it die. For now I should think about surviving instead of asking stupid questions.
About an hour later, we stopped at a small hotel outside the city. I quickly checked us in and led us to the room. Camille suggested that we share a room because its safer that way, and I completely agree with her.
The room was nothing fancy. There was a single bed, a small table and a closet. "I guess we can stay here for today and then we leave very early to go find your brother."
Camille looked at me sadly for a second, and then she lowered her head in guilt. "I'm so sorry that I put you in this mess Josh. You weren't supposed to be involved in this."
I shook my head and crossed the room to her side. "You've already told me everything Camille, and I chose that you stay with me. You didn't threaten me to let you stay, I chose to. So whatever the consequences is, I'll face it with you." I took her hand in mine, smiling to show her that I meant every word. "I know I'm human, and I dont have the amazing powers that you all have, but I want to protect you and make sure you're safe."
Her eyes sparkled and she grinned. "You're literally too kind Josh. Thank you for understanding me."
We stared at each other, and for a moment, my eyes flickered to her pink soft lips. I was almost threatened to have a taste, but I quickly looked away and let go of her hand.
"I... I think we should get some rest and save our strengths for travelling tomorrow. I'll take the couch. You can take the bed."
She laughed nervously. "Don't be so modest Josh. We can both sleep on the bed as long as we maintain a respectful distance."
I gulped. I've never slept in a bed with anyone before. Much less a hot beautiful woman like Camille. How will I survive that.
"O..okay. I'll just call my friend Adrian." She gave me a skeptical look. "Don't worry, I won't tell him anything about this." I rushed out. "I just want to tell him that I'll be away from my company for some time and he should look after it for me.
There was a look of relief on her face and she nodded. "Alright, i'll go to sleep first."
I nodded and hurried out of the room, my heart was still pounding at the thought of sleeping on the same bed with Camille.
Fuck this is my first time. I better not do anything stupid.
