Chapter 10 Breakfast With The Psycho Vampire Prince.
I couldn't sleep!
Dominic's words lingered in my mind making me restless, and let's not forget that I'm in a house filled with vampires. One of them might come into my room any moment with the intention of sucking my blood.
Thank God I have locked up all the doors and windows.
I thought back to Dominic's words. What does he even mean? Is he going to suck out all my blood and kill me?
Why did he say that? Has he forgotten that I saved his life? I even tore off my gown to cover up his wound. Has he forgotten that so quickly?
He flirted with me! He even called me Kitty cat and said I was cute! So why does he act like he doesn't know me? Why does he look at me like I was just another toy for him to play with, another meal that he can devour?!
What should I expect from a Mafia lord, Vampire Prince or whatever the hell he is! I should have known he would turn out to be a godforsaken ingrate!
He thinks he's going to drain me dry right? I'll show him I'm not as easy as I look. I'll make my escape before he thinks of even having a taste of my blood.
Fucking psycho!
I eventually fell asleep to my thoughts, and when I woke up again, it was already morning.
"Rise and shine Kate!" Lysander barged into my room followed by the maid who helped me with my bath last night. Her name was Sarah. She's a cute chubby cheek girl with ginger red hair and light blue eyes like the sky. The collar on her neck already told me that she's a human and a slave. According to Lysander, only humans wear collars in the vampire kingdom. It shows that they have a master.
I couldn't help but be repulsed by this. This is like BDSM, but a sicker version of it.
I better hurry and escape this place before I am turned into a slave like one of these humans.
I stretched my arms above my head to get rid of the stiffness in my arms. "It's morning already?"
"Yes Kate, and we have to get you ready for breakfast with the prince." Lysander informed.
I frowned at that piece of information. Dinner with that arrogant bastard?! After the sick and terrifying things he said to me yesterday, I don't think I want to be anywhere close to him.
"Is it a must to eat breakfast with the prince? I mean, can vampires even eat human food."
Lysander shrugged standing aside as the human girl helped me out of bed and began dressing up the bed. She doesn't say a word. Only nods or shake her head when asked a question.
I wonder if that's a rule as well.
This is fucking sick!
"We eat human food, just that it does nothing for us. It doesn't quench our hunger."
I bit my lips in discomfort, "so you guys drink blood. That's all you can feed on?"
He smiled sadly. "Yes. Blood is what we need."
"Do you drink blood too Lysander?" For some reason I wanted his answer to be no, even while knowing it is a completely ridiculous question. Of course he drinks blood. He's a vampire!
He looked away in guilt. "We need it to survive Kate."
I sighed, disappointed. "Well, you're right. It was stupid of me to even ask that in the first place."
No more words were spoken as the silent maid lead me towards the bathroom to get me ready.
I knew then that it was foolish to trust anyone here. Lysander may he nice, but he's still a vampire and he might also want to drain my blood anytime.
No one is a friend, all the more reason for me to get out of here as soon as I can. Before the psycho prince decides that he wants to eat me alive.
I was given a simple pink gown to put on. It stopped a little past my knee and had petals of flowers designing the upper hem. The dress was sleeveless showing off a huge amount of my arm skin. My hair was dressed and tied in an attractive way behind my head.
When I looked in the mirror, I didn't feel like myself. Why do I look so different?
My grey eyes with once look dull and dead were sparkling like stars, my face looks smaller and I looked more slender and beautiful than I ever thought I was.
How... Why did I become so different?
I look like me but different, a more beautiful version of me I'd say.
"You look beautiful Kate." Lysander complimented me. He was standing behind me and watching me in the mirror as well.
"I know right? Either this girl performed some kind of magic trick on me with her cosmetics, or your mirror is playing tricks on me."
Lysander shook his head at my ridiculous words. "The beauty is all you Kate. Now come along. The prince is waiting."
Those words turned my mood to shit! But I didn't dare protest or argue. As long as I remain in the vampire Kingdom, I must learn to walk on ice. I don't want my blood drained out of me and lose the chance of seeing my mom again.
Sadness enveloped me. She must be so worried.
Lysander lead me to the dining room, and as we passed, there were more people hanging around the place. They all stopped their conversations and stared at me, most were snarling at me showing their fangs which scared me, while others licked their lips like I was a delicious desert they couldn't wait to taste.
I shifted closer to Lysander. Why is everyone here creepy?
We got to the dining room. It was big and luxurious, like the ones you see in royalty movies where the king and his family eat their meals. A huge chandelier was hanging from the ceiling, and I bet the chairs here were up to twenty if not more. The table almost touched the other end of the room.
As I scanned the place, my eyes fell on Dominic. He was seated at the head of the table. My traitorous eyes couldn't help wandering down to his outfit. He wore a long sleeve button up shirt like the ones he wore yesterday. This one however was tighter and it showed off the tick skin of his muscular chest. His bicep look like they were about to tear through the sleeves.
I had to fan myself with my hand to keep calm.
He literally doesn't need to do anything to look like he just stepped out of the covers of a magazine.
His eyes stared right at me, and that annoying smirk I hated so much was back on his face.
"Leave us Lysander!" He ordered while his eyes still remained on me.
Lysander bowed his head in respect and walked out of the room. The sound of the door shut echoed through the silent room alerting me that we were now alone. I resisted the urge to run after Lysander.
We stood for hours staring at each other until he spoke first. "Aren't you going to sit down human girl." His tone was light and teasing, but I won't let my guard down. He threatened me last night!
I took a seat at the other end of the table, far away from him.
I heard him scoff, "how are you going to get the food if you sit so far from it?"
I looked up and realized that all the dishes were served right in front of him. Cereals, fruits, vegetables, chicken and pastries.
My mouth watered. Everything looks so delicious.
When I looked at Dominic again, he was smirking as if he had just heard my thoughts.
I groan and stood up to move closer. I should swallow my pride and worry about my stomach for now.
I took a sit two seats away from him. "Come closer." He demanded and I glared at him but he just kept watching me with a smirking face. I bet he enjoys seeing me miserable!
I moved closer and settled on the seat right beside him on his right. "Happy now?! I snapped.
His smile grew and I tried not to feel the way my heart twitched. "Not exactly, I would have preferred you to sit on my lap."
I scoffed with a roll of my eyes, "in your dreams buddy."
"Believe me, ever since I saw you yesterday, I've been dreaming of draining you in all positions, but you on my lap is my favorite."
I sighed and gave up on him. Can he stop talking about draining me for one second?
I tugged out a drumstick from a full chicken and took a bite. Hmmm, it's delicious!
I took another bite and then another until it was all gone. Yeah, If I'm going to deal with this lunatic, I might as well have something in my stomach.
"That looks delicious," Dominic spoke again and he added with a lowered voice. "Just like you."
I swallowed the food in my mouth and glared at his smirking face. "Seriously, did you graduate the University with a degree of being creepy?"
"No, I graduated with a degree in Biology."
My eyes grew wide. Is he being serious? "Biology? That's a weird course for a vampire."
He shrugged, "I like blood."
Of course.
"Weirdo." I mumbled and return to my meal.
Dominic continued. "Anyway, I'm going on a trip later today and I won't be back until tomorrow evening. Lysander will take care of you in my absence, but you must be careful and stay in your room. Do not leave or try to escape. Not everyone is as friendly as Lysander." He warned.
I already know that with the way they all stared at me. But this is an opportunity to escape. Dominic wouldn't be around.
"Sounds like you care," I mumbled.
He grinned, "I care about your blood. Its mine to take. Mine alone!"
I gulped at his words. Why did he say it like that?
He grinned when he saw that his words left the desired effect on me, and he stood up, tall and impossibly attractive "I'll leave you now. I'll tell Lysander to come keep you company. Don't miss me too much."
I scoffed when the doors closed behind him.
Miss him?
What does he think of me? Why would I miss a psycho like him?!
Fucker!
