Chapter 44 Escape
Chapter 44 Escape
"You'd better kill me; if you can't do that, I'll gouge out my eyes!" Before it even happened, my eyes were already welling up, ready to shed many tears. How could I watch my husband make love to another woman, especially three women at once, while I was carrying his baby?
"You can't do that because both your hands and feet are tied," Dylan said. The three women had already approached Dylan and were caressing his body. Slowly, one by one, they stripped Dylan's clothes off, and shamelessly, they also stripped off their own clothes.
When Dylan's moaning sound was heard, I quickly closed my eyes. This crazy man is really driving me insane. His punishment is making his baby witness his father's insane and irrational treatment as well.
"OPEN YOUR EYES!" Dylan yelled at me, but I kept my eyes closed, not wanting to see the disgusting activity he was engaged in with three unknown women.
The room was filling with their sighs; I wanted so badly to cover my ears, but my own hands were tied. I tried to stay calm and not respond to anything I heard until suddenly I felt Dylan's hand pulling my hair back, forcing me to look up sharply.
"OPEN YOUR EYES, DAMN IT!" Dylan yelled at me again. With my eyes closed, I shook my head, and then a tear that I had been holding back finally fell. Dylan laughed loudly, feeling successful in punishing me because the tears on my cheeks were flowing even faster.
"Open your eyes; you'll be tortured watching the person you love make love with someone else." And that crazy man sighed even louder; the sound of their pounding was even disgusting to my ears. But I kept myself together by closing my eyes, even though I couldn't hold back the tears.
I wish I could fall asleep right now and wake up in my own home so I could look back on all of this with laughter and consider it the most terrible dream I've ever had. With my father and mother joking around beside me, I wish I could go back to the years before I knew this scoundrel.
And God had mercy on me; I was truly asleep at that time because when I woke up, I couldn't hear anything anymore. I felt the room was empty, so I tried to open my eyes.
The room was completely empty; not even Dylan's big chair was in front of me anymore. But the floor was still covered in disgusting love fluids that emitted an unpleasant odor. I feel like I want to throw up right now.
In a feeling of emptiness, I suddenly burst into tears. I really want to go home; I miss my mother. I even miss the noisy quacking of the ducks behind the house. I miss the limited edition window curtains that only three people in Europe own; I miss everything that's at home.
It's too terrible here; I want to hug my mother, take refuge in her warm embrace, and forget everything I've experienced since I met Dylan. But no one can take me back there; this poor baby and I are suffering in this place.
I cried even harder, realizing all my foolishness. I shouldn't have left home and chosen an independent life when I knew I still needed guidance from my parents. If I hadn't decided to live alone, my life might have been monitored by my parents and directed toward the truth, and I wouldn't have met Dylan. However, I, being stubborn, chose my own path.
I've been crying for so long; my tears feel like they're drying up now. There's only emptiness in my chest. And suddenly someone opened the door, a door next to the painting room. Anne was at the doorway, and when our eyes met, we both cried at the same time.
"Madam, I apologize for not being able to hold you back when you were brought here." Anne ran toward me, untying all the bonds on my hands and feet.
"Now you won't be in pain anymore; run away from this house to a distant place where Master Dylan can't find you. You deserve to be happy; get rid of a husband like Master Dylan and start a new life there." Anne spoke so quickly, but I could feel the sincerity in her heart when she said that.
"How can I get out of here, Anne? When every side of this house is heavily guarded," I said to Anne.
"A man named Damian is coming to pick you up; leave while you have the chance. Mary and I will guide you out." Anne's words surprised me a little. Why would Damian suddenly come to pick me up? But this is truly an opportunity for me to run. For the sake of my sanity and my baby, I have to leave this place. Even if I leave this place, I will return anytime to get my revenge, I swear.
"Thank you, Anne. I am so grateful that God brought me together with good people like you."
"There's no need to thank us; this is our job as servers, which is to serve sincerely and with all the strength we can muster. Now let's go out, ma'am, before Mr. Dylan comes. He had to rush off earlier because of work issues, so we need to hurry." I nodded my head, Anne grabbed my hand, and led me down the road she believed was safe so I could run.
"Anne, how are my in-laws doing?" I asked as we were still walking.
"They've gone home; they sent their apologies for not being able to help you from the punishment room because Mr. Dylan asked them to leave here quickly," Anne explained.
"That's crazy, man. I hope God gives me the ease to teach him a lesson with my own two hands," I muttered. Without realizing it, Anne had already led me to a corridor that connected to a small fence behind this luxurious house. Up ahead are Damian and Mary. It turns out Mary has been guarding the front area all this time to monitor for any signs of Dylan's return.
I glanced at Damian. "How did you manage to pick me up at the right time?" I asked Damian.
"You take your earphones everyplace and forget to turn them off." Damian reminded me about the earphones that have been connected to him since this afternoon. I think Damian rushed here to pick me up after he found out I was taken to the punishment room and didn't know when I'd be able to get out.
"I don't know what to say; I'm grateful. Ever since I was in the punishment room earlier, I've really felt like going home." I teared up again, and Anne slowly wiped away my tears.
"Come on, we don't have time," Damian urged.
"I have to bring Anne and Mary with me too." Unfortunately, when they heard my words, they quickly shook their heads.
"We can't come or go alone, ma'am. Meanwhile, we'll pretend nothing happened. We will be your eyes here and wait for your attackers to arrive."
