Chapter 254: I Keep Getting Chills

Chapter 254: I Keep Getting Chills
Kelly Anne's POV:

As I stood there in front of Jasper, I couldn't help the feeling that came over me. It's like I got chills but in a good way. So much so that I was forced to reach up with both of my hands as I placed them on the outer sides of both of my arms, as I tried to rub them about, in an attempt to soothe the feeling that I knew had formed there as the hair on my arms stood on end. We were standing there beside the bed, and my back was now facing Jasper as he had just positioned my hair to lie over my right shoulder.

His former statement nearly caused me to get a kink in my neck at how quickly I had to look back at him. I knew what Jasper wanted. I knew that he was going to attempt to rub the left side of my neck where it was hurting. I was thankful for him. I was thankful that he was ever so thoughtful to think to do something like this without me even having to ask. I knew in the back of my mind that I was unable to ask Shane for anything. However, if the road was reversed, there was no way I could deny Shane without receiving some sort of backlash in return.

Right then, without saying anything in particular, Jasper intentionally cleared his throat. I turned to look over my shoulder, knowing exactly what he might mean by that particular sound and in the manner in which he made it. I then turned to look back in front of me as Jasper's hands were placed on the tops of my shoulders. He gently started to rub them about, paying close attention to the left side of my neck. When he squeezed, he made sure not to hurt the spot on the front side of my left shoulder.

His hands were extremely powerful. I had to close my eyes as I inhaled deeply, taking in this particular moment. I didn't want to miss a single part of it. All I wanted to do was soak it in for as long as I was able to do so. Jasper was extremely gentle with me. I don't know why I deserved so much from him. He told me that he would give me the world. Lately, in the back of my mind, I do believe I recall something that even his men said, or it was something of the sort.

Jasper had no problem burning the entire city to the ground on the chance that he was going to defend my honor. Then something came to the forefront of my mind. There's a difference between a hero and a villain. However, what I actually consider Jasper to be the villain in my life's story? The villain would burn the world for one woman. But if the roles were reversed, a hero, on the other hand. He would have no problem burning one woman for the sake of his vanity.

That's where Jasper came into play. He didn't care about anybody else but me. Well, if I think about it more intently. He did care about his men. I knew that much about him. However, do they feel the same about me?

"I know they do," Jasper said as he stopped rubbing the sides of my neck and shoulders as I jumped slightly, not even realizing that he was apparently reading my thoughts.

I turned to look over my shoulder whenever I looked up at him, and at the same time, he leaned down to where he could look at me as well, "How do you do that?"

"You will find out soon enough," Jasper responded, his tone sharp yet cunning and deep.

I got chills once more as I shivered about hearing exactly how he spoke to me with his husky, deep tone that was ever so sexy. I couldn't help but laugh as I looked down at the floor in front of me and lightly shook my head about. Then I turned to look up at him whenever I responded, saying, "You know, honestly, I don't know if I will ever get used to this."

"You will..., in time," Jasper said as I turned around to face him directly this time, as I was shocked by his words.

He had already finished rubbing the side of my neck. I reached up with my right hand as I turned to face him directly and lightly palpated the side of my neck where it was previously aching. I was shocked even more to say the least. I even looked up at him in astonishment.

"How did you manage to do that?" I asked without even thinking about the words I would use before I asked. "I mean, my neck doesn't hurt anymore? What did you do? I have had many kinks in my neck in my lifetime, and never once was I able to massage it out as quickly as you did."

"That is my secret," Jasper said as he leaned down and kissed the end of my nose, taking me by surprise.

"Don't tease me with a good time," I said right then as I reached up and placed my hands on the points of my hips as if I were displaying an attitude that didn't fit the sound of my words.

"You need to be gentle, Meine Liebe," Jasper said, nearly taking the air right out of my lungs as if I were struck with the blow of defeat when he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

I scoffed at him as I crossed my arms in front of my chest in my visual response. I even took it a step further. Right then, I turned to look to the side as I faked pouting in front of him. What I didn't realize is that I made yet another grave error in judging this distinct situation when it came to dealing with Jasper and all that he was capable of doing when I least expected it.

What I didn't exactly anticipate was Jasper moving as quickly as lightning as he wrapped his arms around my back, pinning my arms in their particular location as they were still crossed in front of my chest. With his sudden movement, I couldn't help it as I gasped with shock. He even leaned down in his sudden movement, and when he stood back up, he pulled me into his chest. This entire time, as he had my feet dangling in front of him.

However, knowing a fear of being crushed, he made sure to hold the back side of my elbows so that he didn't crush me completely against him. How was it that he moved so quickly, and now I am left there, lifted up in the air with my feet up off the ground, as he was slowly spinning about. I laughed at his antics as I turned my head to the side and laid my head on the center of his stone-hard chest.

When Jasper finally slowed the spin, he set me down once more.
