Chapter 31: "Bingo!"

Byron:

After the phone call, Storm needed released before something happened. JR and Max understood the urge to run so I took off, mid-sprinting before Storm thundered through the bayou. Scaring every living creature in his path as he plowed through the Spanish moss covered treetops.

“Three fucking days.” I shouted angrily as Storm barreled through a rotten tree, smelling the musky wood as it splattered into thousands of tiny splinters.

“Full-Moon Byron, you know exactly what he’s planning.” Storm rebutted as his paws came to a sliding halt, huffing out a long exhale.

Scanning the open field in the middle of nowhere, feeling a spine tingling sensation as the bayou became silent.

“Aww…The Great Byron Stormcloud, or should I call you Arkas?” A soft females voice echoed around the dense tree coverage as Storm stiffened in shock.

A beautiful, silver-haired woman was leaning against a tree covered in a soft chiffon dress that flowed gracefully as she pushed up from the tree. Her steps were swift, but gentle as she walked towards Storm purring in a weird calmness. Her green eyes pierced through the fogginess of my confusion as she stopped a few feet away with a soft smile.

“Just call me, Byron.” I replied as she nodded her head with a gentle flicker in her eye.

Wait! I’m still in wolf form, how the hell did she here me?

“Byron, do you know who I am?” She asked softly as she paced slowly, staring at the beautiful dusk covered sky as her eyes glowed a haunting green.

“I know you’re not mortal.” I laughed sarcastically, gaining a perked brow.

“Right you are.” She held up a finger ticking it gently at my answer, gliding her hands behind her back in a graceful motion hooking her hands.

“Go on, take a guess?” She tilted her head with a sneaky smirk.

“I would say “Selene”, but I have a feeling you’re not her.” I laughed lightly as Storm sat on his hind legs, tucking his tail under him.

“Very good.” She laughed lightly as she continued her weird, aloof questioning.

“Look! No disrespect to you, but I need to prepare for “WAR”.” I exhaled deeply, seeing Lea flash though my thoughts.

A heavy pang hit my chest as an electrifying surge ripped through my body, feeling my insides knot as Storm howled in pain.

“Byron, focus on her.” The lady spoke softly as she kneeled in front of Storm, stroking his head gently as another surge ripped through our body.

My thoughts were jumbled into a foggy ball of confusion as my body felt warm like arms were wrapped around me.

“Byron, listen to me. I am here to warn you.” She spoke softly as her glowing green eyes held my gaze.

“Warn me. NO! Please tell me I won’t lose them.” I exhaled a shaky breath as Storm whimpered in her hands.

“NO, but their going to try. Ace and Aeros are determined to destroy you and the Shadows.” She spoke firmly, but in a pleasant tone as another surge ripped through my body but with a weird surge of energy before my body went numb.

“LEA!” I shouted in panic as the lady held me tight in a loving embrace.

“Byron, Lea and the pups are fine, but Mei is not. Her body can’t take the torture like she used too.” She spoke sadly as my heart dropped to the ground with a heavy thud.

“Lea will lose it if her mother dies.” I exhaled darkly as Storm dropped his head.

“Exactly my point, but it needs to happen on the battlefield.” She spoke with a firmer tone.

“What! How can you say that?” Storm jumped to his feet, pacing wildly.

“Listen to me.” She grew firmer in her tone as Storm huffed in annoyance.

“If Mei dies in those cells, Lea’s spiritual explosion will destroy the veil and all “Hell” will break loose, literally.” She scoffed darkly as her fingers touched her forehead.

“She’s a demi-god, carrying the next generation of demi-gods. Your pups.” She spoke proudly as she straightened her back, brushing her silver-locks away from her shoulder.

“LETO.” I exhaled in disbelief as Storm stopped pacing.

“Bingo!” She winked with a click of her tongue, saluting me with a finger.

The bayou came back to life as Leto disappeared, leaving Storm and me in shock scanning for any trace of her. The sun had set, and the stars twinkled with a new life as the Moon’s light guided my path back to the mansion. Busting through the front door mid-shift as JR and Max walked out from the kitchen with weird expressions.

“That must have been one “Hell” of a run.” JR smirked darkly as Max scoffed shaking his head.

“Where’s Lexi?” I shouted panicked as Max tossed me shorts, pointing to the service hallway.

“Byron?” Kolt linked me winded.

“What?” I replied as I darted past JR and Max, sliding to a stop as the panel opened with Lexi, yawning and stretching as he jumped back in panic.

“Jesus! Fuck! Byron?” Lexi exclaimed as he held his chest with a perked brow.

“Hellhounds.” Kolt shouted through our link, grabbing Lexi turning him around pointing to go back down.

“Coffee.” Lexi exhaled darkly as JR and Max appeared with the whole fucking pot and everything needed for a warm cup of richness.

“Will someone fill me in?” Lexi shouted as I pushed him down the stairs, scanning his finger to unlock the door as we filed into the room.

All three stood watching as my pacing grew erratic, trying to make sense of everything that had just happened.

Leto! I just met Leto.

“BYRON!” Kolt shouted through our link.

“I HEARD YOU! Take care of it.” I shouted back forcefully as Lexi grabbed my shoulders, freezing in time as his face paled with bug eyes.

“Okay. That explains your crazy aura.” Lexi exhaled as he sat down in a chair, sliding over to his computer.

“Lexi? Byron?” JR asked firmly as Lexi exhaled a dark breath.

“Lea’s a demi-god.” Lexi replied with a short snicker as he pulled up everything on “Leto” Mother of Artemis and Apollo.

“A WHAT!” They both shouted in shock as the room reverberated strongly against their tones.

“Well, Fuck! And I thought Selene was a pain in the ass.” Max scoffed darkly as JR perked a brow at him.

“Does that mean “the pups”?” JR perked a brow of curiosity as Lexi turned in his chair smiling like that Fucking Cheshire cat, which I was ready to skin the bastard.

“Demi-gods.” Lexi wiggled his brows in amusement.

“There’s a problem. Mei can’t take the torture like she used too, and if it happens before the “WAR” her spiritual explosion will break the veil completely.” I watched as their expressions hardened looking at me with sadness.

“We already had a break in the veil. Kolt linked me about “Hellhounds” while I was talking to you.” I walked over to Lexi, pointing to the Greek statue of “Leto”.

“I saw her. Spoke to her in the middle of “Fucking Nowhere”. Mei can survive this if it happens on the Battlefield. I have a feeling it has to do with the spiritual energy that Lea is releasing.” I crossed my arms as Storm paced in the shadows, watching the Lycan King and the “Black Bear” stare at me with questioning expressions.

“I’m not one to question a “Goddess” but this is insanity.” Max pinched the bridge of his nose as JR paced wildly behind him.

The door flew open as Kolt heaved a heavy breath, slamming the door closed with black blood caked across his body.

“Not cool bro.” Kolt exhaled as he slumped down in the chair next to Lexi.

Lexi leaned over sniffing Kolt, leaning back scrunching his nose.

“Dude, what is that “God awful” stench?” Lexi grabbed a bottle of air freshener, spraying Kolt down with it, coughing, waving away the heavy cloud of mist.

“Hellhound! You like it.” Kolt laughed darkly as he went to hug Lexi but ended up on his ass as Lexi tipped the chair with his foot.

“Serves you right.” Lexi laughed darkly as he held his hand out to help him up.

“Always knew I liked him.” Storm chuckled darkly as JR and Max cleared their throats in amusement.

“Gentlemen, back to the situation.” JR laughed lightly as he pointed to the me.

“Kolt, where did the break happen?” I looked at his curious expression with a lifted brow.

“More like where it didn’t happen. The whole damn place lit up like the “Fucking Fourth of July”.” Kolt held his hands up in disbelief.

Storm froze at his comment.

“Shit! That means she’s in another Realm. So much for locating her.” I was fuming as Storm huffed darkly.

“Actually, I might be able to do something.” Lexi turned around in his chair with a perked brow.

Pointing at him with a large smirk as he stood up, darting out the basement.

“AMELIA!” Lexi shouted running down the hallway towards the clinic.

Lexi slid to a stop as Amelia shushed him, closing the clinic door where the girls were resting. Lexi grabbed her hand darting towards the back clinic room with two medical beds.

“I need your help.” Lexi exhaled as he crawled into the bed, pointing to the lights as JR dimed them to a soft glow, while Amelia stood with a perked brow, tapping her foot anxiously.

“Mei is in trouble if I don’t do this.” Lexi exhaled as Amelia looked up to us with panicked eyes, nodding to what Lexi said.

“What do I need to do?” She spoke calmly as she pointed to us to shift the bed over closer to Lexi as she slid off her shoes, crawling up into the bed.

“I need you to balance my spiritual output, while I connect to Mei.” Lexi smiled softy at her as he kissed her hand.

“Spirit guide. Nice.” Kolt whispered behind me as Storm and Rune howled in excitement.

Knocking as Xander stepped in, sliding in the bed with Amelia as her braced her against his chest.

“He’s my “ground” link.” Amelia smiled as her body began to glow a soft hue of green as Lexi glowed a soft white.

Watching as the glowing mixed in harmony as Lexi used his “Spirit Wolf” to connect to his sister.

Let’s hope this works.
