Chapter 185: Let's Get a Divorce

Chapter 185: Let's Get a Divorce

I wandered aimlessly through the streets, the rain growing heavier with every step.. People heading home couldn't help but cast curious glances at me as I passed.

My body was weak, but my heart hurt even more. It felt as if only this ice-cold rain could ease the searing pain inside me.

I walked forward, one step at a time, without destination.

Just as I reached the foot of the bridge, a luxury car sped up from behind, it's headlights cutting through the downpour and pinning me in their glare.

I turned to look, and Andrew's figure came rushing toward me in a panic.

When I saw him, images suddenly flooded my mind of when Katherine had taken me to that bungalow.

In the scene, Nancy was sitting on top of Andrew, their bodies tangled together. As for whether they had sex, I didn't see clearly—but at that point, could they possibly not have done it?

Chaotic images flashed through my mind, one after another.

By the time Andrew rushed to my side, my thin hospital gown was already soaked by the rain.

He looked at me with worried eyes, then reached out to drape his coat over my shoulders. I didn't move, letting the warmth from his clothes sip into my skin.

"Jane, come on. I'll take you home."

Andrew spoke gently, reaching out to take my hand.

But the moment his fingertips touched my skin, the images of him with Nancy flooded back.

I decisively raised my hand and pushed him away.

Andrew froze, clearly not expecting the rejection.

"Jane." he hesitated, calling my name.

I took off the coat he'd draped over me and roughly shoved it back into his hands.

"Andrew, let's get divorced."

My body was cold, my words equally cold, and the light in my eyes showed nothing but disappointment.

Andrew sighed, thinking I was just throwing a tantrum. He reached out to touch my face, but I stiffly dodged him.

"Don't touch me," I spat. "I find it disgusting."

He looked surprised. Only a few hours ago, I had been sobbing in his arms, seeking comfort; now, I looked at him with nothing but revulsion.

"Jane, what's wrong? You're weak—you shouldn't be out here in the rain. Whatever it is, let's go home and talk it through properly, okay?"

His tone was humble, almost pleading. He seemed genuinely concerned, reaching for my hand again. I roughly shook him off.

"Andrew, you already slept with Nancy. Do you think there's any point in us talking things through?"

Hearing this, Andrew's body instinctively stiffened. The rain matted his hair to his forehead, and a vein at his temple began to twitch.

"I can explain that. Nothing happened between Nancy and me. I fell for her trap."

After hesitating for a while, he said this.

"Really? You fell for her trap?" I let out a hollow laugh. "You're the smartest person I know, Andrew. How could you possibly fall for her trap?" My question left Andrew speechless.

He thought for a moment before saying, "Jane, let's go home. I'll explain everything clearly there."

Looking at his serious expression, I laughed bitterly through my tears.

I looked at him and spoke in an extremely weak voice.

"Explain? How will you explain? Will you tell me that Nancy blackmailed you with Olivia's belongings, so you had no choice but to go—leaving me at Jamie's shop without a single word?"

"Will you tell me that I'm just a tool for your physical needs, that in your heart, the child and I don't even compare to one of Olivia's old things?"

I stepped closer, my voice hoarse. "Andrew, I don't want to be anyone's substitute, and I refuse to be your sex toy."

"Jane."

He called my name, reaching out to pull me toward him. I pushed him away and turned to leave, but I didn't get far.

Knowing I had just lost the baby and that my body was at it's breaking point, Andrew didn't argue further. He stepped behind me and scooped me up in his arms.

"Andrew, what are you doing? Let me go."

I struggled desperately, but it had no effects on him at all.

He ignored me and carried me straight into the car.

"Andrew, you've gone too far. Let me go!" I pushed at him, but he held me tightly. No matter how I struggled, he wouldn't loosen his grip.

"Go home," he ordered the driver.

The driver nodded and drove away.

Unable to escape and hating him to my very core, I lashed out with the ugliest words I could find. "You bastard! You married me but still think about other women!"

"If it weren't for your carelessness, I wouldn't have lost my child. It's all your fault. All your fault!"

"I don't want to be with you anymore. I want to divorce you. Let's go to court tomorrow and get divorced."

Every word I said was like a knife stabbing into my own heart.

Before, I always thought Andrew loved me, always thought that once we had our child together, life would settle down, but now it seems that's not the case.

Without comparison, there's no harm.

Just like Henry said, the woman Andrew loves most will always be Olivia.

No matter how good I am, I can't compare to Olivia's place in his heart.

At this moment, I seemed unable to shed any more tears.

Thinking about my child who never got a chance to be born, who lost their life like this, my hatred for Andrew grew deeper and deeper.

I stopped struggling and let Andrew restrain me and take me back to The Lopez Mansion.

The moment the car stopped, Andrew wrapped me in a towel from the car and carried me out. Even nestled in his arms, I had only one thought - to divorce Andrew.

Whoever wants the position of Mrs. Lopez can have it. I don't care anymore.
