Chapter 113 Chapter 113
Chapter 113 Chapter 113
Sasha's POV
What I had feared most was starting to become a reality. Aaron was letting this sudden revenge rule over him, and he wasn't ready to back out.
After I had disclosed to him how Agatha showed up and escaped with Laura, and her Mom, he became angry. The news of Me shootings her mom made him stop breaking any frame he came across with at least.
Not in this Earth would I have believed that someone like Agatha Sloan would be able to know such kind of place, and without the fear of being caught and killed, saved Laura. Ever since I was a maid in the mansion, I've witnessed, several times, her hatred for Laura Karma. She never loved her from the beginning, what changed?
“Where are you going?” I asked, stomping my right foot on the floor as I watched Aaron appeared on the stairs, a wolfish grin plastered on his face, his hands dipped into an eccentric tuxedo that he wore.
“Aren't I allowed to leave this house, Sasha? Come on, don't start.” He rolled his eyes, brushing past me.
“No one is restricting you from leaving the house. It's just a harmless question.” I replied with a silent scoff. How arrogant.
His lips twitched. “I'm prepared to go claim what would be finally mine.”
My brows furrowed at his statement. “Yours? Laura and her Mom had escaped, and all you are worrying about is to go claim what's yours? What are you even saying?!” I retorted, splaying my hands in astonishment.
“They can escape all they want, Sasha, but they can't stop my plans because none of them have clues about what I'm doing, or what's going to be coming for them. I have everything in my hands.” He declared and flashed me a knowing smile, but I was far from convinced.
“You are being delirious, Aaron, and it isn't going to help any matters. Don't you feel like something is off? Aren't you going to think about how Agatha came to know your hideout?”
Aaron's hand tightened on his shirt, the muscles in his jaw flexing as he stared at me. “Do you think I haven't been worrying about that? I still can't wrap my head around how she got to know. Someone told her, someone must have told her.”
“Yes, that's what I'm saying. You aren't going to look into who did it? Try to think-”
“Are you saying I told someone accidentally, Sasha? Are you trying to pin the blames on me? Are you fucking out of your mind?!” He snapped at me .
I flinched in awe. “What the hell is even wrong with you? Don't you realize that if any evidence points at you, it'd ruin us?! It'd ruin my life?!”
“How does your life concern me, Sasha? You own your life, so deal with it. As for me, I always know how to get away from things. Don't get too entangled.” He replied, and turned his back to leave when I continued again.
“You always know how to get away from thingy, huh? What happens when a bigger one reveals himself, and you don't know how to get away from that? What are you going to do?” I asked in a mockery tone, my lips curving to a mischievous smile at his defeated expression.
Aaron mumbled something under his breath as he rubbed his temple. “Stop pissing the fuck out of me, Sasha.”
“Oh, I wasn't. It's just a question.” I chuckled inwardly, shrugging my shoulders.
“You either come with me, or you stay in the house.” With that said, he didn't spare me another glance as he turned and left. I thought about it for a moment, and decided to go after him. Sweeping myself into a slit-opened gown, I put heels on and a little makeup, dressings my hair before hurrying out.
Surprisingly, he was waiting in the car when I got there, and together we left without saying a word.
Throughout the ride, I wouldn't deny the fact that I was clueless about where we were going or where he was taking us to.
Aaron has been retrieving himself whenever I tried asking about his plans.
“We are here.” He announced, interrupting me from my thoughts.
I looked at the transparent window, we were in front of a building which looked like a hotel.
“What are we doing here?” I asked, breaking the silence. Aaron growled lowly, stepping out of the car while I followed suit.
“And why are we even dressed like we are attending some event? What's happening?” I asked again.
“You ask too many questions, Sasha. We are not specifically in a hotel, but we'll be going to the hall in it. And yes, we are dressed for a special event.” He grinned at me as he walked at arm's length from me.
My eyes peered to the people around as we walked. He imprinted his fingers on an elevator, which drove us upstairs to what looked like a hall.
Truly, everywhere was crowded as people walked helter-skelter in the hall, dressed elegantly and rich.
“What is this, Aaron?” I titled my head to look at him, shooting him a glare, and he gave me an Irish grin in response.
He was about to reply to me when...
“Oh, Aaron! It's finally you!” We both heard a voice as someone approached us with a drink, wearing a smile on his face.
Aaron's eyes lit up with excitement as he walked to him.
“James! It's really you. Long time, no see.” Aaron said gently, and chuckled.
James, the tall man glanced at me, and nod. “Who is she?” He asked Aaron, referring to me. I stood on my spot, my eyes taking the whole place. What was really going on?
This looked like an auctioning arena. Who were they auctioning? Were people being treated like a slave that they were auctioning for?
“Oh, that's Sasha. My ally.” I heard Aaron say as he signalled me to greet James, who kept smiling expectantly.
I rolled my eyes and walked to them grumpily. “Hi...James.”
“You are pretty, Sasha.” He complimented, throwing his gaze back to Aaron, and I saw them exchange an eerie look.
“Thank you,” I muttered dryly.
“How about we get to know ourselves more, Sasha? You're pretty, and I must say that I can't let you-”
“I'm sorry, but I'm not interested.” I cut the man called James off as I walked past the middle of the two men, going to look for a special position to hide myself.
Aaron was definitely up to something. It was obvious.
Then I felt a shadow behind me. I almost jumped on my feet until I realized it was Aaron, fuming at me.
“Why did you do that earlier?”
I shrugged. “Do what?”
“Don't act like you don't know what I mean, Sasha. Why did you turn down James that way? Don't you realize he is my friend and he helped me out?” He rebutted.
“What am I supposed to do? Accept him like I'd known him for a long time? Like you said, it's my life and I can do whatever I chose. Stay out of it!”
“You are testing my patience,” He warned, gritting his teeth. I scoffed, going back to my position before throwing a glare at him again.
“If he helped you out, why don't you go fúck him yourself.” I said rawly, not caring if some people might have heard me say that.
Aaron boiled with rage on his spot, but he was too smart to know better than retorting back at me.
“Fuck. You.” He gave me the middle finger, and walked away. My eyes trailed him as I watched him walk over to where looked like the businessmen's table including James.
Then a speaker came in the podium and started a boring speech which had me rolling my eyes up to five times. Excitement grew to me when it got to the best part.
Obviously, it was an auctioning. Like I had predicted.
I watched as different people bid their money on different things while some lost on their bet.
My eyes suddenly widened out of the sockets when realization struck me about what all these were about.
Eric's PA was fucking trying to sell his company?!
And then it dawned on me on who could only possibly be able to buy such a company. My eyes fell instantly on Aaron's table, and to my greatest shock, he has his bid on immediately Eric's company is fully displayed, but the moment if bidding was cut off when the sounds of a stiletto heels clicking could be heard.
In what looked like a slow mo, everyone's head tilted to see as the main door swirled open and the least of who I was expecting walked in majestically, her heels still making that strange noises, a bid on the other side of her hand, her eyes focused on the podium, and —And advantageous smile on her face.
“Congratulations. The full sales hoes to Ms Agatha Sloan! Wow! Cheers!”
This time, my mouth fell open as she gladly walked past the people who still had a shocked expression on and bowed slightly at the speaker.
Someone fucking pinch me!
