Escape from Hell
Escape from Hell
" Once the heart gets to heavy with pain, people don't cry. They just turn silent. Completely silent" - unknown
Cicil's point of view
Pain ran through my body I bit my lip to keep from crying out. I was returned back to my pack a week ago. My punishment still lingering on my back. I had betrayed Jethro and now I must bare the consequences of my own actions. I had had committed treason against my pack. For that many want to see my head on a spike. I've lived a long life many don't get the chance. Many in were wolf society are lucky if they even make it to their late thirtys. I was fifty five going on fifty six. If this is the will the Moon Goddess has planned for me then who am I to stand in her way. Ofcourse, I didn't see this coming I never do when it comes to my own fate. My sweet Stella I hope you will one day forgive me I had failed you. I ask for the moon Goddess to protect you and to deliver you from evil. I hope you still talk to her she will help guide no matter what you are told the Moon Goddess is for all.
I had taught Stella from a young age to believe in the Moon Goddess. Many in the pack had turned their back from her forgetting ancient tradition. Through out history many have chosen to question her leadership. I never turned my back towards her. Even still I am at her mercy I beg as I await the unknown to keep Stella safe.
My thoughts are interrupted as I hear the footsteps of Jethro fast approaching. I couldn't bare to look at him the monster that stands before me. I didn't know him he was no longer the alpha boy that was head over heels in love with my best friend Lydia. I could feel his presence getting closer I focused on the grey brick walls rather than facing him letting my long white hair shield me from him.
" Look at me." His tone held anger behind it I wish the floor would open up and engulf me. I didn't look at him I couldn't bring myself to do so. " Look at me Cicil."
Finally I looked through my long hair that no longer seemed like a barrier to shield me from the angry Alpha. Swallowing having trouble having the saliva go down my throat no doubt due to dehydration. Alpha Jethro thought it fit to to starve me and and deprive me of water for the week I remained down here.
After what felt like mere minutes Alpha Jethro let out a long sigh " Cicil I hate to punish you like this but I have to make an example out of you. What will my pack think of me?"
Anger flared within me " What about mercy? Your pack already despises you Jethro killing me will not win them over."
Jethro growled in response " Your wrong Cicil my pack sees me as their leader."
I couldn't help the laugh that escaped my lips " Your pack sees you as a coward nothing more nothing less."
Jethro twisted his hands through my long locks jerking my head back to make me look into his soulless eyes.
" I could have you burned at the stake for what you speak I am your alpha."
His grip becoming tighter I couldn't help but to grit my teeth together to keep from yelping. Holding on to his wrist to try to relieve some of the pain from his hold. " Do it. It doesn't matter now everyday without my Stella I grieve you took my last bit of happiness when you sold her. She was the last thing of Lydia and you took her from me. I will gladly die a thousand times over to make sure she remains safe from those who seek to harm her. As the Moon Goddess as my witness I will see her again whether it's in this life or the next."
His eyes for just a moment seemed to soften before hardening again He laughed " you and your teachings about the Moon Goddess. But I didn't see her step in to keep Stella here now did I?"
My heart sunk " The moon Goddess has a story to tell with all her children whether her children believe in her or not. Our stories were written long ago before we were even a thought."
Jethro through me to the ground finally releasing the grip he held on me. Letting out a sinister laugh " where is your Moon Goddess now? Watching you starve to death and grovel in pain. What kind of Goddess is that to watch her children suffer while she sits on her pedestal."
I couldn't help the single tear that managed to escape " The Moon Goddess gives and she takes away what she deems fit. She made you an Alpha but I am not to sure that she is happy with her decision. Make no mistake Jethro if you keep your back turned away from her for too long she might just seek to replace you."
" How is she going to do that exactly she has failed thus far. She failed at killing me but she succeeded at killing Lydia. The irony "
" Lydia was just an inconvenience or maybe not after all we got Stella out of it."
Jethro let out a huff " I wished it was her that died that day."
My heart stopped " Jethro you don't mean that. Tell me you don't mean what you say."
" Oh but I do the constant reminder of what I lost. I was overjoyed when I sold her to Alpha Damien knowing she would be more mistreated there after all the hated humans." It was true Alpha Damien did infact despise humans but in the end He chose my Stella as his temporary Luna which one can only ask why.
Jethro soon soon interrupted my thought " Tomorrow you will be burned at the stake then we shall see if the Moon Goddess is really there for her children." He couldn't help the smile that made it's way to his lips. Leaving me alone once again with my thoughts. There I cried in silence until I caved into to complete and utter darkness.
