How Long Have We Known Each Other?

A knock resounded on Salvatore’s door, and upon his invitation, Callixta entered the room with a smile playing on her lips. Although her previous plans had failed, rumors had circulated that Salvatore had taken Dahlia to the torture room. Since then, Callixta hadn’t heard anything about Dahlia which could only mean that things were going according to plan.

“Sal…” Callixta called out, her voice conveying a mixture of excitement and anticipation. Salvatore, immersed in his work, glanced up from his laptop to meet her gaze.

“I have just returned from the exchange with Merino. The drugs were successfully sold, and we obtained a staggering sum of 100 million,” Callixta announced, her smile widening with satisfaction.

Setting his laptop aside, Salvatore rose from his seat and approached her, his hands casually tucked into his pockets. As he drew nearer, she couldn’t help but find herself admiring his striking features. From his tall stature to his broad chest, every inch of him exuded a rugged charm. Even the cold expression etched on his face only served to enhance his allure. And those eyes… they were simply captivating.

Her breath caught in her throat as Salvatore stopped just in front of her, his hand gently pressing against the wall, lowering his face to meet her eye level. The proximity between them sent a jolt of electricity through her veins.

“Tell me… How long have we known each other?” He asked calmly, his voice resonating with a quiet intensity.

“Nineteen years…” Callixta murmured, her gaze locked onto his captivating eyes.

“Sal…” Callixta gasped softly, her heart racing with a mixture of anticipation and uncertainty. Her breath hitched as she felt his hand come to rest on her chest, causing a surge of emotions to ripple through her.

His touch was gentle yet possessive, his fingers grazing against her skin. The intensity of the moment hung heavy in the air, as if the world around them had momentarily ceased to exist. Her mind raced, trying to decipher the meaning behind his actions.

A jolt of panic coursed through Callixta as she felt Salvatore’s hands moving up her body. Her mind raced with a torrent of sensations, her imagination getting the better of her as she envisioned his hands gripping her tightly while engaging in passionate intimacy. Her eyelids fluttered shut, fully indulging in the fantasies that had taken hold of her.

But just as her mind wandered into the depths of desire, her reverie was abruptly shattered. Dahlia, who had been entering the room with Salvatore’s lunch, froze in her tracks at the scene unfolding before her eyes. Callixta’s daydreams dissipated instantly as reality crashed down upon her.

His grip around her neck tightened, causing her eyes to snap open, wide with shock. Her breaths came out in desperate gasps as she struggled to draw in the air that her constricted windpipe craved. The calm expression on Salvatore’s face had been replaced with a furious scowl, his anger palpable.

In a raspy, pleading voice, she managed to choke out,“S-Salvatore” Desperation consumed her as she clawed at his arm, trying futilely to loosen his grip. But he remained immovable, relentless in his hold.

Narrowing his eyes, his voice dripping with anger, Salvatore growled, “Nineteen years… And yet you still don’t know me, do you?” His words were laced with disappointment and frustration.

“Yesterday should have been a day of grace for you,” he continued, his tone menacing. “If you dare to interfere with what’s mine again, you won’t like the consequences.” The fury in his voice was jarring, a stern warning emanating from every fiber of his being. “Don’t even attempt to deny it, because I know it was you. You sent that man to her room, didn’t you?”

A desperate plea escaped Callixta’s lips as she struggled to regain her breath. “Sal… I’m… I’m dying,” she managed to wheeze.

Ignoring her plea for mercy, his voice thundered, bouncing off the walls. His grip on her neck tightened even further, causing her head to collide harshly with the unforgiving surface behind her. The impact left her momentarily stunned, her senses swimming in a whirlwind of agony.

“Answer me”.

Dahlia flinched at the force of his voice. She had never seen him raise his voice or look so angry.

“Yes”, Callixta wheezed.

Salvatore’s menacing voice reverberated in the room, causing a tremor of fear to ripple through Callixta’s body. “Now listen to me clearly… I’m the only one allowed to hurt her. If a single scratch appears on her body… I will kill you,” he growled, his words laden with a dangerous intensity. Callixta, on the verge of fainting, simply nodded in response, afraid to utter a single word.

With a ruthless force, he released his grip on her, causing her to stumble and collapse onto the cold floor. She coughed violently, struggling to catch her breath as the pain throbbed in her neck, evident from the deep red marks left by his vise-like grip.

“Get out!” He spat, his voice laced with contempt. Callixta, her feet unsteady and weakened by fear, gathered what little strength she had left to hastily leave the room, coughing and gasping for air as she fled from his presence.

As Callixta disappeared from sight, Salvatore found himself turning to face Dahlia, who had been silently observing the horrifying encounter. Her shocked expression mirrored the turmoil that churned within her, yet she dared not vocalize her thoughts.

Caught under Salvatore’s gaze, Dahlia swiftly moved into action, attempting to divert his attention away from the lingering tension. She approached him with cautious steps, placing his lunch hesitantly on the table, all the while careful not to make any sudden movements that could provoke his wrath.

“Your lunch, Master,” She murmured softly, her voice barely audible as she delivered the words with utmost respect. Her heart hammered in her chest, anxious to escape the heavy air that surrounded him. With a quick retreat, Dahlia made a hasty exit from the room, hoping to evade any potential outbursts he might direct towards her.
