Dahlia
Dahlia jerked awake, her heart pounding in her chest. Startled, she sat up on the bed, eyes wide with alarm. As she looked down at herself, her hands instinctively checking her body, she realized she was wearing a different gown. Confusion clouded her mind.
“A bad dream?” she wondered, her thoughts racing. But when her gaze fell upon the torn remnants of her gown in the waste bin, her heart sank. The reality hit her hard – it wasn’t just a dream.
Fear gripped her as she tried to piece together what had happened. Fragments of memories floated in her mind, disjointed and hazy. Panic welled up inside her, threatening to consume her.
“Boss said no one was allowed in,” a voice echoed in her head. The words rang out, adding to her confusion.
“For fuck’s sake, I just wanted to make sure she was okay!” another voice protested.
The sound of voices outside her room piqued Dahlia’s curiosity, drawing her towards the door. She needed to know what was happening, to understand the chaos that had unfolded.
As she stepped out of the room, Dahlia’s eyes widened when she spotted Merino. His expression mirrored concern and relief as he rushed towards her. In an instant, he reached out, his grip gentle but firm as he held onto her shoulders.
“Are you okay? Did that man hurt you?” Merino’s voice cracked with worry, his eyes searching hers for any signs of distress.
Confusion etched across her face, Dahlia struggled to comprehend the situation at hand. Her voice trembled as she asked, “What… What’s happening?”
Merino proceeded to recount what he had heard, explaining the commotion that had taken place in her absence. Dahlia absorbed his words, her eyes widening with each passing detail.
“Master saved me?” Dahlia’s thoughts raced, a mixture of astonishment and relief filling her. She couldn’t believe that someone had come to her rescue, that she was not alone in this darkness. Tears welled up in her eyes as she realized the magnitude of Salvatore’s actions.
But what the man said next made her shiver and the feelings of gratitude towards Salvatore very quickly disappeared.
Her heart skipped a beat as another man’s words reverberated through her mind. “Boss said we should bring you to the torture room once you wake up.” Panic coursed through her veins, her eyes widening in disbelief. Did he really mean to torture her?
“Huh?” she stammered, her voice barely audible as fear gripped her. Every instinct screamed at her to run, to escape this impending ordeal. Yet, she couldn’t bring herself to defy the orders given to her. With a nod and trembling legs, she reluctantly agreed to follow the guards.
Before she could take another step, Merino’s urgent voice cut through the tension. “Wait!” he exclaimed, stopping Dahlia in her tracks. She turned back, confusion etching her features.
“Can I know your name?” He words hung in the air, his concern evident in his gaze. The unexpected kindness from a stranger touched Amour, prompting a soft smile to grace her lips.
“Dahlia,” she replied softly, gratitude lacing her voice. “Thanks for worrying about me.” With those words of appreciation, she resumed her journey, determined to face whatever awaited her with courage.
Merino stood there in shock, his mind racing. “D…Dahlia?” he whispered to himself, disbelief coloring his tone. Something about her struck a chord deep within him, an inexplicable connection that he couldn’t ignore.

Inside the torture room, Dahlia tentatively stepped forward, her eyes darting around the room as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. An unsettling aura hung in the air, made even more potent by the pungent and nauseating stench that assaulted her nostrils.
“What’s this smell?” she murmured, her voice filled with both curiosity and unease, her delicate nose scrunching up in disgust.
“Blood,” a voice resounded from the darkness, causing Dahlia to flinch involuntarily. She strained her eyes, searching for the source of the voice amidst the shadows that engulfed the room.
“Master…” she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper, a mix of fear and anticipation coursing through her veins. She could feel his presence, his commanding aura permeating the space around her.
“Open your eyes well… You’re about to witness what I’ll do to whoever touches what’s mine,” a voice echoed through the dimly lit room.
Dahlia’s eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest as she took in the chilling scene before her. The man, bound and helpless, lay naked upon a chair. His unconscious state was abruptly shattered by the harsh illumination that bathed him in its revealing glow. And in that moment, as his gaze met Dahlia’s, she became an unwitting participant in this macabre display.
“I’m sorry!! Please forgive me,” the man pleaded with desperation in his voice. “I’ll never ever do such things again! I was drugged! Boss, I’m sorry.”
Goosebumps erupted along Dahlia’s arms as a wave of conflicting emotions washed over her. Pity tugged at her heartstrings, mingling with the uncertainty of the man’s claims. Could it be possible that he had been manipulated, driven to his actions against his will? Questions swirled in her mind, compelling her to consider the human behind the perceived transgression.
But her thoughts were abruptly interrupted by a flash of movement. A bullet, swift and unyielding, sliced through the air, finding its mark in the man’s shoulder. A cry of pain filled the room, piercing the silence with its agonizing plea. The sound reverberated through Dahlia further unsettling her already trembling form.
As she stood witness to this gruesome tableau, fear threatened to consume her. The weight of the situation pressed upon her, testing the boundaries of her own resilience and moral compass. The reality of violence and death loomed before her with a terrifying clarity, thrusting her into a world beyond her wildest imagination.
Dahlia’s tears welled up, threatening to spill over, but she staunchly fought against their release. She pressed her lips together, determined to maintain her composure even as her emotions churned within her. The image before her was both jarring and surreal, a stark deviation from the serenity and normalcy she had previously known.
The room filled with an eerie silence, the only sound cutting through the air was the menacing echo of approaching footsteps. All eyes turned towards the tall figure, their collective gaze fixed upon the man who was bound to the chair, completely at the mercy of his captor.
The figure, dressed in dark attire that seemed to blend seamlessly with the shadows, exuded an air of quiet authority. His piercing gaze never wavered, remaining fixed upon his hapless prisoner. In his hand, he held a gleaming silver knife, its sharp edge glinting ominously as he effortlessly twirled it between his fingers. A malicious smirk curled upon his lips, revealing a hint of sadistic pleasure.
With each deliberate step the figure took, a wave of fear and panic surged through the man who was helplessly restrained. Beads of sweat formed upon his brow, his body trembling with a potent mixture of terror and anticipation.
