Melissa was still struggling with her sight even after dimming her eyes narrowly at me. I took my time to glare around the Fanny villa and a lot of memory relived in my head.
I was standing at the spot where Melissa told me about the divorce papers she sent to my email when she and her family had decided to divorce me, it was same spot I promised Melissa she and the family would bow down to me and hail me the world richest man.
I was standing at the same spot the security would stop me back then whenever I came around to see my wife. Everything recalled and flashed in my head now. And I raised my gaze at the sky and felt warm tears line up in my eyes. If this day was a dream then I wouldn’t want to wake form it.
“Melissa!” Lisa Bake called, trudged to her side and nudged her on the side, “Am i seeing a right? Please I stand to be corrected if I am not. Is that not Brian Patrick or is that another trillionaire with the same resemblance?” she wiped her glasses and wore it back again. “you know this glasses could be deceiving.” She nagged and wore it back.
Melissa gave her the cold shoulders as she could not even blink her eyes. She didn’t wish to interrupt her sight even though she was waiting for the ground to open so she could fall in. she stylishly rubbed her eyes to see if she was hallucinating. She winked severally; it was actually Brian Patrick.
Fanny Luis rushed outside obviously he thought it was Saint Don; for it was only my father that could pull such party of security and convoy.
Lisa Bake kept straining her eyes. Seeing that Melissa wasn’t going to give her reply, she trudged to Fanny and pulled him on the hand.
Is that not Brian Patrick? Or does he have a twin, uh?” her voice broke out and her eyes still straining at me
At the time my party of security still bowed their heads and once I raised my head and said, “Thank you,” they raised their heads in unison and stood in a row behind me. With my hands pocketed, I stared at the Fannys with dark brooding eyes and straight face.
“Yes he is, granny, but how come? We are expecting our father-in-law, Saint Don, the world richest man and we are seeing Brian Patrick. How come and how did Brian Patrick become so rich that he commanded such affluence and supremacy as the world richest man?” Fanny asked as our gaze was still locked together.
Suddenly one of the maidens who just dashed out of the mansion saw me and chanted, “oh my God! Oh my gosh! The world richest man! There he is! There he is! Mike Don! Oh my God!”
The maiden chanted and a host of other maidens joined her to chant before they made towards me with excitement hanging over them. They took out their phones, clamoring to have a selfie photo shot with me
But my band of honorable security stopped them from getting closer to me. These maidens wailed. I could see the disappointment and pain in their reddened fire blazing eyes.
Just like the one on the faces of Fanny Luis, Lisa Bake and Melissa. At the time Fanny molded his arms, watching amidst frown and grudges.
Lisa Bake queried “Did you just hear that Melissa?” she nudged Melissa on her ribs. “He is Mike Don, the world richest man? How could these things be? And see the power he commands? Is there something about Brian Patrick we didn’t know?” she queried.
Melissa swallowed hard as she gazed upon the host of maiden wail and clamored for a selfie photo with me.
Seeing the enthusiasm in their eyes and the desire to be with me, I raised my hands at my security and immediately the maidens were granted access to get to me.
“Oh my gosh,” a maiden chanted as she smiled and took several shots with me, “You are indeed the god of wealth. ” she added.
Now it was all about struggles. The host of servants and security at the Fanny villa chanted, “The world richest man! The word richest man!” once they caught sight of me. More than one hundred of them surrounded me in a bid to take a selfie shot with me.
“This can’t be,” Fanny Luis mumbled within himself and through gnashing of teeth , he nagged, “How did he become the world richest man…”
Melissa who had been dumbfounded all this while drifted to the side of Fanny Luis and nagged, “There must be a miss up somewhere, father. The Brian Patrick I know has been a ragged dirty, ex convict delivery boy who couldn’t afford a cent. How come he is now the world richest man? I suggest you put a call to our father-in-law Saint Don, to complain about Brian Patrick impersonating him.
Lisa bake joined them, “The expensive cars and security were hired,” she added, “Brian Patrick is a no body and could live a false life to impress us.”
Quickly Fanny Luis gave a confirmatory nod and brought his phone to dial Saint Don.
“Hi, Fanny Luis,” Saint Don’s voice sounded from the other side as soon as he came on.
“Yes, Chairman,” said Fanny Luis , as Melissa and Lisa Bake strained their ears to listen t their conversation. “We are yet to see you at the villa. What is keeping you?”
“It can’t be!” said Saint Don, “Didn’t you see Mike Don? He is supposed to be at your villa now. . He left a long while ago. I suggest you stay put, he will soon be there. If you see him, give him a warm reception. He is my true heir and the world richest man now…”
“But …but … how possible is that…Chairman, are you there?” Fanny said but it was too late..
Saint Don had hung up the call. Fanny glared at the phone which trembled in his hands now.
Melissa and Lisa Bake kept staring at me with surprise in their eyes…
