A Toast To My Downfall

My media aide hesitated in booking an appointment with media homes for the briefing about my current net worth. Therefore at the time the news was still making the round about my decline in net worth and possibility of becoming poor in no distance time. I stayed back in one of my secret mansion and waited for the appointed time to showcase my new newt worth.

All over the world, all eyes were on TV, newspapers, social media. On the streets, heavy bickering about my decline to poverty ensued amongst the populace. I trended and became one of the most talked issues and searched personality on the internet.

For over a month, the topic; Mike Dons Decline To Poverty trended, it became a recurrent newsflash which left admirers disappointed and associates gutted with fury and shame.

At the prison, Fanny Luis and Morgan Harris had a field day gossiping me and mocking my downfall. They had requested for special wine and spirit from the management of the prison and in their privacy under the watch of the jailers they toasted to my decline and drank heavily. They jouy knew no bounds about my huge decline to poverty.

“Cheers to the downfall of Mike Don,” that was the deep voice of Fanny Luis, who was having handy a plastic cup filled with spirit.

With faces dilated with generous smiles they toasted and chatted over my decline to poverty. Morgan Harris clicked his fingers repeatedly over his head, rejecting such downfall from befalling him.

“I can’t believe this,” Morgan intoned and folded his arms in bewilderment , “I knew he was going to decline to poverty some day but I never expected it so soon…”

Fanny gulped his drink and tossed his head in conformity, “I have always expected his downfall. Can you imagine the decline, huh? How can a Croesus decline from five hundred trillion dollars to one hundred thousand dollars? What a shame.”

“Hey, hey,” Morgan interrupted him abruptly, “You got the wrong information, dude. News has it that the so-called world richest man declined to abject poverty.”

“What!” Fanny exclaimed, leaving his mouth gaping and fingers thumping the desk, “This is serious. Oh what a downfall. I can’t wait to see him return to the street and continue his dirty ragged life as delivery boy.”

Morgan let a strenuous smile and then grinned, “I heard from verified news that the asshole has gone on self exile out of shame of being ridiculed by the public. In fact he is so indebted to his clients that in no distance time we will be hearing court suit involving Mike Don and his clients.” A tic flushed across his face and jaw sagged in fury.

“I can’t wait to see him join us in jail.” Fanny intoned and winced before tossing his head in confirmation, “Since his clients would sue him over indebtedness his would join us any moment soon…”

The men let an uproarious laugh which left their head pulling back and legs lifting. A haze of excitement hung over them as the mockery deepened.

Fanny hastily gulped the wine in his mouth so he could speak up. News about my downfall had awaken his excitement and he couldn’t help with the tinge of joy that flushed through his thought. He couldn’t just wait to brief Melissa about my downfall. Although he expected her to have a heard about it by now yet he looked forward to meeting her again and advising her against leaving Rio Hondo because of me.

A small smile lifted the corners of his mouth, “Morgan this is definitely hey day for Mike Don. Isn’t it obvious that he lost his wealth after the Alafin ship crash and Mr. President withdrew the oil well from him? I can’t wait to see that bastard beg on the street.”

Morgan interrupted him with a rigorous laugh, “You know what goes around comes around. He sent us to jail thinking that was our end but his hell just let loosed. I just can’t wait to set my eyes on Brian Patrick and mock him,” Fanny swore, “I can picture the asshole right now. Have you heard anything about him of recent? Nobody has heard anything about Mike Don. This is unlike him. It shows the news is real. I can’t wait to see the wreck he has turned into.

Morgan let a thumping smile and choked on it, “Listen up, Mike Don was once my delivery boy and I can comfortably tell you he is destined to be poor. I wasn’t baffled for one bit when I heard the news of his decline …” he was interrupted by a boisterous laugh and one which seemed not to end soon.

Fanny clicked his fingers, “When he was my son-in-law I often told him that money wasn’t meant for him and look what is happening to him today.” His jaw ground as he clicked his fingers in irritation, “I can’t believe Mike Don is back to his vomit. How can a Croesus who controls five hundred trillion dollars decline to one hundred thousand dollars…”

Morgan interjected , “Why won’t he go broke when he was busy buying a gold-plated private jet, going on vacation in all the destinations of this world, investing in Alafin crude oil, and bringing vengeance on his enemies.”

Fanny burst into another boisterous laugh and choked on it, “Wherever my daughter is right now she would be merry and quit leaving Rio Hondo for that bastard, yeah. I told Mike Don he won’t be the world richest man forever…”

Morgan interjected him, “Yes of course, we have a new enterprising, energetic world richest man now. His name is Thomas Jackson, from the Caribbean. Thomas Jackson is worth four hundred trillion dollars. The whole world can’t wait to welcome him on board. I hear Forbes have officially confirmed Mike Don’s net worth decline and in no distance time, Thomas Jackson will be officially announced as the world richest man.” His eyes wobbled before he raised his cup of wine. “Let’s drink a toast to the downfall of our enemy…”

A shocker called on…
