“Boss, the security and pilot are ready and await you in the private jet,” Zion sounded and remained bold “Apologies, boss I have a question. I hope you don’t mind,” he verbalized and raised his gaze slightly. I raised my hands firmly and ordered my costume personnel to leave our presence. And as soon as they did, I demanded, “What question do you have, Zion? Speak, I am all ears,”
To some extent I was a bit nervous to ask him what was on his mind. When he dared to raise his gaze and look up at me, he muttered, “Boss you just told us to get ready for your pertinent visit and since then I have been worried because of the extent of preparation for this visit.”
I grinned distinctly and raised a chiseled brow. “And why are you worried if I may ask, “My expectant gaze stared at him from head to toes and I saw he was gorgeously dressed as I requested, “I can see you are well-suited in the red tuxedo and I hope you all are suited in same color of tuxedo…”
Zion interposed me hastily, “That is the issue, boss. Each of those tuxedo cost half a million dollars. That is too much for a tuxedo and it has got me brooding over why you should spend so much money to decorate us because of a visit.
I chortled briefly stood to my feet, pranced to the wine bar and poured a mug for two. With my hand stretched to him, I mumbled, “Have this Zion,” hastily he scuttled and took it from me.
“Hmmm, boss, I am honored to have this from you,” he sounded once he had a sip at the iconic wine, “Boss this tastes like roman emperor 1901. This is very expensive, boss.” He smacked his lips as he commended on the wine.
I gave a firm nod as I concurred to his commendation. “The wine is worth one point five million dollars. I will be investing in the beverage company soon.” I swirled around and gave a surveyed look at him, “Back to your question, Zion. I know you are worried why we are so prepared for an unknown visit.”
Zion shook his head in confirmation, “Yes, boss I wonder where we are headed and it would be the first time we will be going in your gold-plated private jet to a short distance , I mean somewhere around Rio Hondo. So I am worried where the destination could be…”
“Zion!” I beamed, “Who is the next to taste a dose of my vengeance?” I queried and shot an expectant gaze.
He stared in the space thoughtfully put his finger on his lips and muttered, “um…Hoff… . Yeah Hoffers Greenfield,” he clicked his fingers twice in remembrance.
I sipped at my wine and nodded, “You answered correctly, Zion. I want to pay a courtesy visit to Hoffers Greenfield with all my entourage and aides. Let the whole world know that this day the world richest man is visiting his former boss, who treated him as a piece of shit…”
Zion gazed upon me in an eerie kind of way, “But boss comparing the two pictures on the wall.” He pointed at them and sounded yet further, “there is a huge difference. You have changed in looks. Hoffers can never believe you are the ragged, poor boy in the other picture.” His voice tuned down as he apologized, “Apologies boss for reminding you of your past, forgotten memory.”
I shrugged and nodded with a grin, “It is okay Zion. I am happy that my enemies cannot recognize my new looks.” I adjusted my tuxedo as I advanced to the mirror opposite, “Money stops nonsense. Hoffers Greenfield is expecting the arrival of the world richest man. He is expecting Mike Don not Brian Patrick.”
Zion let a dilated smile deck his face as he shook his head firmly, “I wonder what Hoffers did to you, boss, but I know human beings are so cruel. I wonder why the rich maltreats the poor just because they feel the poor will never get through in life.”
When I flashed my eyes at Zion, warm tears had already trickled down my chubby, healthy cheeks. I sniffed briefly, “Yes. It is the kind of dare devil world we live in. Hoffers Greenfield dealt with me as though I had Leprosy.”
Zion noticed my teary face, “Boss why are you all tears? Perhaps I shouldn’t have brought back forgotten memories.” Zion bowed as he kept his gaze on the floor.
I rolled my eyes at the thought of what I passed through in the hands of Hoffers Greenfield, “Zion you didn’t do any wrong by reminding me of my past. I would never forget my days of poverty; the days I ran to my boss, Hoffers for help. Our landlord had thrown us out on the street for our inability to pay the house rent.” I walked to the bar and poured fresh wine juts to chin up.
Zion blinked, anxiously hoping I wouldn’t put an end to the tragic story of my poor beginning. “I am all tears. Boss,” he intoned and stole a glance at me.
“I ran up to my boss, Hoffers demanding that he give us his garage to pass the night since my foster father wasn’t too strong to sleep in the cold. I was Hoffers’ delivery boy so I wondered why he wouldn’t give up his garage for us to pass the night. Looking at me in the eyes Hoffers blatantly rejected my demand. He preferred to park his luxury cars in the garage while me and my foster father perish in the cold.
Zion let a mountainous curse , “Hoffers is a sadist. He deserves to go to hell fire with a gallon of fuel. Why would he treat you as trash? At least he should have considered your sick foster father who was not supposed to be in the cold.”
I caught my tears with a handkerchief, “That was not just the only evil he did to me. When I approached him, demanding for a salary advance so I could pay my foster mother’s medical bills and our house rent hoffers refused my bidding without looking back. Hoffers Greenfield is the reason my foster mother died helplessly at the hospital…” heavy sobbing interrupted me promptly.
Zion snorted and shook his head, “Boss what vengeance do we bring upon him? Hoffers doesn’t deserve anything good. I can help you spell Christmas on his ass if you want…”
I gestured at Zion, “You just hold on and see how I would make him pay. The vengeances of a poor boy turn rich looms on,” I groaned and scrutinized my vengeance inwardly…
